Homeboy23
cinciDAWGS12 & coasterbilly: Thanks for the comments. When possible I always try to plan a sporting event along with my coaster trips.
alilstronger
I am happy to hear the employees at Six Flags America had smiles on their faces and were not talking about guest. I live about 45 min from this park and usually get a season pass every year. I got tired of hearing about the employees personal lives while waitiing in line/them checking restraints/yelling at each other over the PA systems (things that should not be said while on the clock). Give em till July they will be at their normal selves.
redfoot12
This may sound strange, but out of the flyers I've been on (S:UF at SFGAdv and SFoG, Batwing, and Nighthawk), Batwing is my favorite. Maybe I need to get some Manta going on.
Homeboy23
^ I don't think it is bad at all, as I am a fan of flyers, but there is something with the restraints on the trains that just make them feel too loose to me.
Homeboy23
I will be leaving for California first thing in the morning - I can't wait! It is my first time flying ever. Stay tuned for the trip reports.
Homeboy23
June 19, 2010 - Universal Studios Hollywood I started off my trip to California with a visit to Universal Studios. My flight from Richmond landed at LAX around 10:30 in the morning. After waiting a little bit for my luggage, a long line at the rental car and a little bit of traffic; I pulled into the parking deck around 12:45. Not knowing how the lines would be on a Saturday I went straight to Mummy to get the credit out of the way, since you know us coaster lovers worry about the credits first. I ended up waiting a whopping 10 minutes to get on so I realized this park was going to be easy to get around for the day. From there I went straight across from there to ride the Jurassic Park water ride, ate some food at the food stand next to that and made my way up to upper lot. And I will give advice to anyone looking for a way to exercise, just walk up the steps I was able to get everything done here in plenty of time except for Terminator, which I have seen in Orlando and didn't feel like checking to see if anything was different here. Before I get to the pictures I must say one more thing. On the studio tour I had one of the best tour guides I have had in my life. She had the best mixture of professionalism combined with having fun I have ever seen. Most tour guides I have witnessed are either too boring trying to be professional or either try to make way too many and inappropriate jokes. If anyone is planning on going to the park hope that you get this girl named Angela when you get on the studio tour! Now it is on to the pictures. Complimentary sign picture Way too much silver CityWalk pic number 1 I loved USH's CityWalk more than Orlando's - the park though came no where close to down south I also prefer this one to the normally colored blue globe Going down and down and down and down Until you finally reach this which is another downgrade from Orlando Construction update! You do get a wonderful view from the upper lot The most popular attraction of the day! Looks yummy I don't know why but I love this ride From War of the Worlds Looks just like a regular neighborhood You can't go on the tour and not take a picture of this - And again a big shout out to Angela for being awesome! I wonder The Blues Brothers! And if you haven't figured out where I was yet - Next up: Sea World San Diego, Belmont and Legoland
Homeboy23
June 20, 2010 This is one of two days on my trip where I wished I planned a little better. It was a little bit pushed but I was able to get all the credits and enjoy myself at the same time, but at the end of the day I wish I had more time. I started off the day at Sea World San Diego at opening followed by Belmont Park and finishing the day at Legoland. Sea World was a beautiful park while lacking any thrill factor is a nice park for the family. I spent the first two hours just checking out the park and animal attractions and getting the one credit. The next two hours was spent show hopping, starting at Shamu show then straight off to the Dolphin show and then to the Cirque de la Mar. I was impressed with the Cirque show and the location was awesome. I left the park around 2 to go to Belmont Park. I knew if I was to make it to Legoland I didn't have a lot of time here so I only bought enough tickets to get two rides on Giant Dipper which is an average woodie. After walking around the park and the beach a little it was off to Carlsbad. One thing I will say about Belmont is I'd hate to see how parking would be on Saturday, it was hard to find a spot. I arrived at Legoland at 4 with it closing at 6. I went straight to get my credits and check out Miniland. And surprisingly I was able to get in everything with 5 minutes to spare. I was really impressed with how this park looked and can't wait to check out the one in Florida. On to the pictures! Shamu stadium with no shade anywhere Blue Horizons - great dolphin show Cirque de la Mar This polar bear knows how to relax And this bird knows how to follow The park's only credit Journey to Atlantis - Way better in Florida! Overview of Blue Horizons One of the great views at Sea World Welcome to Belmont! Even though its average it is still a good ride Random shot of the park Pirate arcade! Great thing about this park is the location right on the beach! Third park of the day! One of three coasters at the park If this was a little more intense it would be great This dragon guarded it Entrance to the second credit And a quick picture of the third and final credit Bricktona! San Francisco Las Vegas D.C. This guy has the right idea Even the parking markers were great!
