Foxy Roxy
Why does everyone now think that Chang is going to SFGAdv just because of GASM's removal? At this point, it really could be going anywhere. It bothered me when people thoroughly believed Chang was going to appear at SFGAm, and at this point, it could still be going to ANY Six Flags park. Why are coaster enthusiasts so gullible? Wikipedia"] It is confirmed that the ride will be at Six Flags Great Adventure in 2011 replacing The Great American Scream Machine when the ride closes July 18, 2010
Hayzle
Once again, Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, and Six Flags has NEVER made an announcement saying what is going in the spot. All they have said is that they are removing the ride for future expansion.

Wikipedia"] It is confirmed that the ride will be at Six Flags Great Adventure in 2011 replacing The Great American Scream Machine when the ride closes July 18, 2010 I can't say Wikipedia is that much of a reliable source, as at one point in time, it said that Chang was being installed in Robb's Backyard. ^It's already confirmed by the park that it's a "major" new attraction going into GASM's area in 2011. GAm has already confirmed they cancelled 2011 coaster plans so thats out, and Gadv makes the most sense so they are speculating on IF it comes to the park in 2011 I'm not saying that it's not going to SFGAdv, I'm just wondering why people are acting like it's already been confirmed. Zack44
I'm going to laugh so hard if it turns out that Chang won't be replacing Scream Machine next year and that "major attraction" just turns out to be that 5D thing that hasn't been mentioned in a while, or just something completely different and unexpected. But the chances for Chang net year are very high in comparison to the other Six Flags parks, so.......yeah. If Chang comes to Great Adventure next year however, I just hope they give it a completely different name, theme, and color scheme than the old Chang. I was thinking a good color combination would be either laser-green track with black supports or white track with dark/burnt orange supports. As long as they don't use either blue, yellow, or red, which pretty much dominate most of the coasters' paint schemes in the park already. Anyone else have any suggestions for color schemes? Foxy Roxy
^^From what wikipedia's told me. I know it can be edited by anyone and therefore is always wrong. Rumors say it's gonna be themed as the Green Lantern.
Speeddeamon128
^According to Screamscape as of yesterday that is highly unlikely now: http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_great_adventure.htm
scipiomask
I'm not sure I believe Screamscape in this instance - a movie-themed ride would be easy to market and also helps to produce both the movie and the theme park - a win-win situation. Not that I'm a movie/theme-park/copyright expert.
Speeddeamon128
^Well hopefully next week we will find out. I wish they would just keep it as Chang because just think Chang is a sweet name for a coaster.
Foxy Roxy
I feel like if they did re-theme for the Green Lantern, they'd do what they did to Bizarro. I love Bizarro as a ride but I think all the music and quotes during the ride took away something magical about it... I just don't know what. iplf
I went to SFGrAdv yesterday for the first time and had a great day. Kingda Ka was down till 2 or 3 PM and broke down several times during the afternoon and evening. A frontseat ride took us 90 minutes with a gold flash pass cause it broke down 3 times while in line. The frontseat ride was worth it though. We rode in the back later on and that ride was rrather disappointing. The Flash Pass did its job perfectly and we managed to get all the credits even though Bizarro was down till like 8 PM. big ups to SF for getting it to work before the end of the day. We decided upfront to stay as late as possible and really enjoyed Nitro, Ka, El Toro, Bizarro and Superman during the day. For our night rides we got a special treat from the weather gods and SF. Around 9 PM there was a heavy thunderstorm that lasted till like 9.30. Everybody got home and we were in the El Toro station. When the ride opened again there were just enough people to fill the 2 trains and we scored 5 or 6 in-sane rides in the backrow on a soaked El Toro. This was literally the best coaster-experience we ever had! Simply amazing! Big shoutout to employee Dan who commented me on my X2 shirt and was supernice every time we saw him! More crewmembers should have this kind of passion for parks and rides!
sspaz1000
I too was at Great Adventure yesterday, and even without a flash pass most rides were a 15-20 minute wait. The longest line we had was at 5:30 for our second ride on Ka, but that was only because people couldn't figure out that there are two sides to queue on. And then my friend and I unknowingly got in the line for the front row. All these people kept wanting the back on Ka and we just went well why is this line short, and walked in it. About 5 rides later we realized oh we're in the front. I have to agree it was the by far the best ride sitting in the front. (And I have the bruises to prove it, ) I'll post more when I'm not as tired. But all in all Great Adventure was a great day yesterday. Speeddeamon128
^It was the same today except for GASM they let everyone ride twice in a row without getting off to celebrate the ride's last day which was awesome So the line was about a 40 minute wait. I got 2 rides in a row in the front for my last ride on GASM & it was the Freedom not Axe train! Oh there were also a lot of these all over the place:
sspaz1000
^ That's great that you got to go on it twice in a row today. I didn't even think to look at the ground around GASM yesterday. I was of the ride, ride, ride, make sure I get water mentality. Lucky you for getting the Freedom train. I had the Axe train. Sounds like GASM had a good last day (well still is cause it's still has a few more hours to go ) Nicole
sixflagsguy5
I rode it on the 9th in the front and 2nd to last row. It's actually not a bad ride at all and there was almost no headbanging. Unfortunately there was barely a line for it the entire day even with one row. So I can see why they are taking it out.

BaMiTsPaT
Unfortunately I won't be at Gadv until Monday and Tuesday so I missed riding GASM :'( but I was wondering if they will let me ride the kiddie coaster or if I need a small child to ride it with me. Also, If you want to meet me there and hang out monday and tuesday, I'll be in a green Four Year Strong jersey. thank you!
odene497
^When I was there anyone could ride. No kid needed. And, Great America Scream Machine is alllll done with. I loved that ride.
chadster
looks like they've got their utilities marked out, here comes Chang, i like Chang for some reason, and I'm not a huge fan of that flavor....
MoonCadet
I was there yesterday got my rides in on The Scream Machine my beloved pain train the coaster that defined big coaster to me when I was too small to get on and threw a fit. It had literally been 10 years since I had been to that park. Stayed hydrated and had a pretty good day... unlike the girl who passed out in the GASM station while I was there. But rode everything without much fuss... longest wait was Kingda Ka and I was glad I could get my last rides in.
terdferg
I am pretty bummed about this. i love(d) the scream machine, and when they repainted it a few years back that gave me hope the the ride would be around a bit longer. I got my last ride a few weeks ago and i dont know if it was due to me knowing it was leaving, but it was super smooth and all around amazing. It's a shame they do not make rides with double loops anymore, as back to back loops are my favorite element on a coaster ever. I am still clinging to hope that chang will not be the replacement, even though we all know it will be. its not that i do not like stand-ups, i am just not a big fan of B&M's. They are too calculated, and too boring (dead horse i know). I have been hoping that six flags would give one of their flagship parks a new ride rather than one not that much younger than GASM. And since this is the GADV discussion thread, I will discuss the park as a whole. I have been coming on my own for the past five years since i first got my drivers license, and the park has come a long way. The employees this season have been extremely helpful and nice, and the park has been nice and clean. same can be said about my visit to SFA earlier this year. Hopefully six flags is getting itself on the right path, finally.
Speeddeamon128
I went to the park again today & they have not started taking apart GASM yet. Superman: Ultimate Flight was down all day & maintenance was working on something with the lift hill. Kingda Ka was on & off. It was down for about 20 minutes after the park opened & was on & off all day after that. Apart from that everything else was operating & the park was crowded with a bunch of annoying 12 year old summer camps There was no avoiding them as they even were at the local Wawa
YoshiFan
I'm glad I didn't go to the park today. I was considering it but was kind of tired and would have hated to deal with crowds especially with a lot of camps there.
Speeddeamon128
^Yeah you made a good move on staying home. It was hot, crowded, & people were line cutting like crazy although two guys got caught by security line cutting Nitro which was cool. Everyone started clapping when they got caught When I went on Sunday the crowds were light & I don't remember there being any summer camps. Oh well at least I had one good day this week. I still got on everything that I wanted to today even with the crowds. The rest of my summer trips (with the exception of my Orlando trip for a week leading up to ECB in August) are going to be either Dorney or Hershey. They are a farther drive than GADV for me but I find those parks much more enjoyable & most of the time they are less crowded even on weekends. I think Sunday's trip was just a lucky one especially for a Sunday in July.
thrillrider
I am just glad that I was able to get out there last summer a few times. I will miss this ride. I was able to snag a few pictures of the ride.
