CedarFlags
Riddle me this Batman... How do companies get away with advertising these completely impossible rider capacities? For a Super Boomerang to actually hit 800 riders per hour with a 24 passenger train, they'd have to unload, reload, and dispatch in 30 seconds flat.

tndank
Free double sided lockers for El Toro opening soon. Could be this week. Strange move for a Six Flags park but I hope they keep them coming.

It's technically possible to do that depending on the park, just highly unlikely. If Parc Asterix had one of these, I wouldn't bat an eye if you told me they were hitting that. Six Flags? Yeah... you're lucky to do 400 riders per hour, but Great Adventure is currently running one train on every single coaster in the park except for Skull Mountain, Nitro and Kingda Ka so they've already established that they aggressively don't care about that. abovethesink
Everyone who would care about the figure knows it is a theoretical maximum. I am sure the parks/chains have their own data on what percentage of that maximum they tend to hit and do the math for their own situations accordingly if they care to. That's all there really is to it.

I think you're giving Six Flags way too much credit, though I want to believe that someone somewhere in corporate has a complex excel formula that told them that 1 safari truck every 25 minutes at Safari Off Road Adventure is the absolute sweet spot for dispatch interval.

We visited Parc Asterix during our honeymoon last fall. Honestly, it was our least favorite park of the trip (I found the aesthetics a bit.. off..for my taste and the people rude) but their operations were just wild. Three trains were just flying around the layout of Oziris where we were basically forced into our seats the moment the gates opened, old school Raptor style circa 1998 (minus the DJ booth). There also wasn’t any lollygagging or foolishness with the visual scans or waltzing around the platform with a confused look despite possessing an associates degree in IROC training. Hopefully I don't ruin your tried and true standup routine, but I did add "if they care to". Honestly though, as an accountant with lots of experience with corporate accounting, I would be shocked if they didn't have the data available. There is probably one poor soul locked in basement using the turnstyle counters to measure throughput rates with tears in his eyes as he contemplates why Six Flags has him do this if they are never going to look at the data and also his life choices in general. Zack44
The day is finally here: the 50th anniversary of when Great Adventure first opened. So many amazing things have happened to the park since that first day in 1974. How exactly was the big anniversary day at the park? Well, honestly, it was underwhelming. Over a dozen rides were closed all day, including Kingda Ka, Jersey Devil, and Green Lantern to name a few. In addition that, multiple rides down for long periods of time all day long (such as Runaway Mine Train, Justice League and Nitro). I can excuse that kind of thing for the first few weeks of early Spring, but summer is here and the crowds are only going to get more intense from here. Not to mention, construction is STILL going on at the new Flash coaster, as well as three of the remaining original rides from 50 years ago (the Big Wheel, the Log Flume, and the Skyway, which outright looks like it'll be SBNO for the whole year). To be frank, this is downlight humiliating. All of these projects should have been finished months ago - ESPECIALLY The Flash coaster. To compare, Dorney Park's new coaster was completed and operational before vertical construction even STARTED on the Flash. Inexcusable. But in all fairness, Flash, the Big Wheel, and the Log Flume all had active construction teams working on them all day long. In fact, the were literally installing the cars back on the Big Wheel all day long! The Flash was having it's landscaping done around the support beams. Construction on the queue and station have not started yet, but I'm hoping it will be open by later this month (honestly, I'll be grateful if it opens this year at all). Fortunately, the crowds were relativity light (which was ironic since the weather was nice and fair all day). Every ride's line was 10 minutes or less, so I got plenty of re-rides. Most coasters (except Medusa) now have at least two trains running, unlike when I last went in late April. The only specific thing they did to commemorate the 50th anniversary was a ribbon cutting with the Looney Tunes characters right before the park opened, which I thought was nice. I tried to rip of a tiny piece of the ribbon to keep as a souvenir, but I couldn't do it. I should have asked Bugs to borrow his oversized scissors, LOL. Speaking of souvenirs, I tried to buy one of the 50th anniversary t-shirts or hoodies, but all of them were either sold out or not in my size. I must've visited every merch store in the park and found nothing. Hopefully they'll have re-stocks by the next time I visit. Final ridecount: El Toro 3x Skull Mountain 3x Nitro 2x Dark Knight 2x Skyscreamer 1x Medusa 1x Carousel 1x Justice League 1x Batman 1x Runaway Train 1x Here's a link to all my pictures. Here are some highlights:

jlp94
Hey everyone, I'm hoping to hit Great Adventure for the first time sometime later in the summer. I was told by a local NJ friend that Kingda Ka is currently down awaiting a part and might open soon, and that Green Lantern hasn't opened in months. Realistically, is there a chance either of these open by mid-August? (Flash as well, if anyone has info, although in all honesty that isn't a dealbreaker for me) Any help is appreciated! coasterbill
Every coaster in the park is open as I type this, but that is definitely a rarity this season.
DannySixFlags
I went on June 22nd, and I got to meet The Flash! I asked him if he or Superman would win, and he said he raced Superman a few times. I also met Coyote and Petunia (this was my first time meeting Petunia.) Coyote said he ate the Road Runner again haha. I got everyone's autographs (a new thing I'm doing after I saw a video of a guy at SFMM getting autographs from the characters.) Toro was down when I got to that area; so we unfortunately didn't do it. I hope when the new ride opens, everything will be fixed. I still believe in this park. abovethesink
We are starting our summer road trip on Saturday. We are driving down to Virginia for KD and BGW and driving North from there, needing to be back to way upstate NY by the following Monday. Other than hitting the VA parks (first time since the year Verbolten opened) and then Six Flags America (never been), it is wide open in terms of what we can visit within the time window. There is no hope the new Boomerang is going to be open by say next weekend (20th/21st), right? I don't think I can prioritize getting SGAdv on the list otherwise. I still need all those NJ boardwalk parks, Coney, Nickelodeon Universe, Playland, etc.

Great Adventure's thing will not be open, but neither will Shellraiser. Plus, Sandy's Blasting Bronco is actually open right now so it's 1000% going to break again by next weekend. That's way too much time.
