boldikus
Via the parks socials... I might actually be more stoked that we're finally getting a Jersey Devil themed coaster - in the woods no less - than I am about the fact that we're getting a RMC raptor. This sh*t is gonna be so rad.
ytterbiumanalyst
Those trains look fantastic. Wonder Woman is an absolute blast, y'all are going to love Jersey Devil.
DILinator
I really feel like on a national scale, this coaster is being overlooked, as they talk about their most anticipated 2020 coasters. I rarely see it cracking people's Top 3, and for me, it's solidly #2 behind Iron Gwazi (and barely ahead of Pantheon!) I am super excited to get on my first Raptor, and one of this size, and at this great park to boot! Obviously, the only question is when, but with family in the area, I am flexible, and can wait out its eventual opening. How about others here? Is anybody else really excited about JD still? Or is this just not as high on people's list for various reasons?
thrillseeker4552
^I agree that Jersey Devil may become a sleeper hit. So far, most of the 2020 attention is on Orion, Pantheon, and Iron Gwazi. However, those other coasters are probably grabbing the most attention because they are complete or nearly-complete. I think people will gain more excitement for Jersey Devil when the coaster actually begins to take shape.
tndank
Those cars look awesome. I hope this model keeps the intensity as it grows in size. Can't wait to ride this one. Probably my most anticipated for 2020, with Iron Gwazi right behind it. *Please note, I haven't ridden WW or RB but I'm dying to.
boldikus
Do you non-locals realize how insane this is going to be at night?
larrygator
Do you non-locals realize how insane this is going to be at night? Are you assuming that lighting will be minimal? It will pull crowds away from El Toro at night.
coneyislandchris
I've heard nothing but good things about the Raptors so far. I narrowly missed out on Wonder Woman when I was down in Texas so I haven't yet tried any of them out. I will be hitting up CGA in mid-April and hopefully be able to get a chance to try out Railblazer beforehand, but regardless, I am very excited about this! Can't wait to get rides on it. Here's hoping it's up and running by June, fingers crossed.

boldikus
Do you non-locals realize how insane this is going to be at night? Are you assuming that lighting will be minimal? Who would assume otherwise w/ this park? Hopefully other than station and lift lights, they'll leave the area dark at night. Nitro night rides are much better than Toro, imo. PDC is pretty well lit. michaellynn4
I missed opening weekend for Wonder Woman by a week, but rode Railblazer multiple times last year, and it was a blast. This'll definitely be great.

Canobie Coaster
^ Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't El Toro have vending machines in the queue line? I vaguely remember the sign by the ride saying no phones or keys. Either way, my wallet is going in the locker since that vending machine isn't on the meal plan. coasterbill
I wondered about that once too and a ride op told me that they don't actually care if you bring your wallet in line. Still, since I always get a locker anyway I always throw it in there. I don't know how El Toro or Kingda Ka ever sell ride photos since you have to remember the number, go to the locker and then come all the way back if you still decide that you want it that badly. coasterbill
Oh yeah, this was completely predictable. I do kind of wonder why this is only a thing at Great Adventure. It's weird.
Canobie Coaster
^ Could it just be a New Jersey thing? Not only do these rides at Great Adventure not allow loose articles, but GaleForce, Nor'Easter, and the bigger rides at American Dream all have a similar policy. I wondered about that once too and a ride op told me that they don't actually care if you bring your wallet in line. Still, since I always get a fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo anyway I always throw it in there. I don't know how El Toro or Kingda Ka ever sell ride photos since you have to remember the number, go to the fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo and then come all the way back if you still decide that you want it that badly. I'd say you could remember the time as an alternative and get them on the way out, but then I remembered you don't have your phone and most people use that instead of a watch. It's possible. NJ does have the greatest ratio of lawyers to residents in the US, after all.
boldikus
Is this the first time they've explicitly stated on the map that the flume would run through October? I know its been running later the last few years but I feel like people were surprised it was?
coasterbill
Good catch, but they're still not tricking me into going to Fright Fest (unless they do another one of those post-Halloween ones again where nobody shows up).

NJ has some of the strictest ride regulations in the country. On the contrary, PA, right next door, has some of the loosest.

Code94
Twister survives! I was thinking the same thing lol. That’s definitely the next ride to be removed. Especially with that Cyborg pos in the same park.
coasterbill
I'm sure they'll just run it until it runs out of free spare parts from all of the other removed top spins in the chain. They removed a lot, so there's really no telling when that will be.
