coneyislandchris 45
^I’m pretty sure all this skyline deal stuff is 100% ungrounded speculation based on how Harley Quinn @SFDK opened later than initially announced. Also the El diablo stuff as far as I understand is based on a single Screamscape post, which as we know has questionable reliability/accuracy, especially in this case as the guy who wrote that post is quite unsure themselves. IIRC the source for the Screamscape rumor is from a random poster on Reddit or Facebook who claims to have gotten the information from one of the park's security guards. So, basically, slightly higher than Dippin' Dots guy level veracity, but not by much.
Satans Hockey 9
Removing El Diablo makes no sense when it doesn't take up that much room and more so it's only been there since 2015.
yodelo 0
Hi Everyone! I'll be going to Great Adventure on Oct 6/7 - does anyone know if the park will be crowded this early into Fright Fest? Also, I noticed only a few rides were listed on the Fright Fest Website. Are all the rides usually open? Oh - also does anyone know of any cheap hotels around the area if we're going to stay the night?
snapfordakids 0
The park is beautifully empty today. Thank you light rain. This! Monday was a perfect day at the park, The light rain kept the crowds super dry. Ka was closed for the day, However I did see it cycle just once exactly at 5pm when the park closed early due to the weather. (trolling? :roll ) I hadn't been to the park since 2015, but I enjoyed this visit a lot and SFGadv is still such a beautifully-maintained SF park. Joker- 1x- Finally got to try out the Free-Spin, pleasantly surprised. The first drop and spin caught me off guard! Toro 2x - still crazy as ever. Nitro 3x - The Ride op who worked the control panel was so incredibly obnoxious talking about her personal life and her job over the loud speaker. Like nobody is trying to hear all that nonsense while they are boarding and waiting to be dispatched. Do better! Skull Mountain Backseat 1x Batman 2x Zumanjaro 1x - Ride Ops looks so incredibly bored. Me and my partner were the only ones on the ride for that cycle. It's like nobody knew the ride was open all day. Or they just didn't want to make the mile trek back there. Justice League 1x - Rode the SFOT version a week prior, I liked SFOT better. I could see a mouse pointer icon on the finale screen at the SFgadv version Bizarro 3x Green Latern 1x Superman 1x

During the day the lines are manageable. Once it starts to get dark hoards of people come to the park, but they die down after about 10 PM. I've also never been that early in the season for FF though. As far as hotels I always stay Red Carpet Inn and Suites in Wrightstown. Its a hole in the wall but surprisingly has really decent reviews. I usually pay between $45-55 a night. It is about 25 minutes from the park.
YoshiFan 1
Columbus Day weekend is one of the worst of the year to go to the park, maybe the 2nd most crowded after the weekend before Halloween. Friday night and Columbus Day itself aren't that bad.

I could see a mouse pointer icon on the finale screen at the Yes, I experienced that ride op, but she and the two restraint checkers were quick. Her talking was annpying, but at least it didn't slow operations. Justice League - they were letting re-rides so I rode about 10 times trying to find bonus point opportunities and my score kept getting worse. One part was not operating. The images on smoke screen directly after Lex says he is unleashing the LexBots was not working properly. The projection was on the floor, but if you shot the images on the floor the points registered.
anonymouscactus 27
The projection was on the floor, but if you shot the images on the floor the points registered. I'm just picturing the whole ride like this, lol. Welcome to Six Flags!
HeyItsKrabs 0
Can someone talk me through this whole "Member Rewards" program? I just activated my Platinum membership today and tried signing up in the park, but couldn't figure out the mobile website. Came home an hour ago, and the desktop website is almost worse than the mobile site. I can't find where to sign up for the program, the single FAQ guide they put out has a three bullet explantation that doesn't make sense, and to top it all off, they already screwed up my pass in the park today by not moving the dining pass to the new membership meaning I had to pay for lunch (boo hoo, I know). Basically, where and how do I sign up?

michaellynn4 31
Screamscape: Park News - (9/16/18) Various confidential sources have all chimes in with similar stories, claiming that both El Diablo and King Cobra are leaving the Six Flags property and heading to other parks. I mean, still take it all with a grain of salt, but it's interesting that these conversations seem to be continuing rather than dying out. I like El Diablo but certainly won't miss it. King Cobra, pfft, good riddance. We were supposed to get retrofitted drop towers instead, anyway.

As I've never been to GAdv's Hurrican Harbor (and why is it separate admission and why no path or shuttle to it from the dry park?); why good riddance to King Cobra? And yeah, if the retrofitted drop towers refers to modifying Zumanjaro so it and KK can run at the same time, I'm all for that.
jamesinclair 1
I like Diablo, I dont want it to leave. If the operator gives you the extended edition it's a fun ride. Removing King Cobra is insane unless they plan on adding 12 replacement slides. The negligence shown towards Hurricane Harbor is criminal and Senator Booker should investigate. ...I know Im going to get booed for this, but Fright Fest....should I go this weekend or next weekend? Do more people go for the first weekend, or does nobody think about fright fest until October?
HeyItsKrabs 0
Can anyone get out to the park and confirm that King Cobra is being dismantled? Multiple people have said on the Reddit, and more importantly, Screamscape that it's being taken down this week starting today.

It's separate admission because they make more money that way, and with it way out there there's no obstacle to it. They used to run a tram to the waterpark (and Safari tour bus back before the days of Off-Road Adventure). With all of the barricades they put up for the Preferred/Diamond whatever parking lot, there's no way for the tram to get to the main gate, so they stopped it. That, and they disbanded the parking lot department...Fun fact: I used to drive and spiel on the that very tram in my youth.

Satans Hockey 9
Seeing more and more people talking about El Diablo leaving the park. What's the last ride here that had a lifespan this short? It was only added in 2015. Curious to see what they do with that spot now if this is legit since it doesn't make sense to remove it otherwise.
michaellynn4 31
A bunch of the rides in the late 80s had three-year lifespans. Ultra Twister, Shockwave, and Condor each were only around for three years, and Sarajevo Bobsled was around for about four. Also, some of the rides added in 1999 were taken out after only three years, too.
jamesinclair 1
Went to fright fest on Saturday. Had a good time. Feel free to direct any fright fest related questions my way. Hot tip: After 11pm, everything was a walk-on. Did 2 of the mazes in 10 minutes total. Diablo was a walk-on. Got in line for Toro at 11:55pm, empty station. Could have done another round but GF wasnt feeling good. Ka was stuck on one of the little hills on the way back to the station, with people being walked down the stairs. Surprisingly, it was back up in the evening. App said 100+ wait so I didnt attempt, but was likely a walk-on at park closing.

Rumor is that they're replacing it with the newer version of the Larson Loop without the joystick since they don't like it and neither does New Jersey. However rumor is that it will be shipped to La Ronde for Chaos.
B&MIntaminGCI 0
I don't know why they'd replace an existing ride with the same ride when I'm sure it's more than possible to just add a new control panel. I guess we'll see.

I guess we'll see. Not in Jersey. The state is so draconian with laws regarding modification of existing rides that it makes it easier to tear down and rebuild than to modify. Look no further than King Cobra, getting taken down and shipped to Mexico instead of being modified for safety. Plus, it's a "two birds, one stone" type of deal. They get the NJ government off their backs and can still use the ride in a park (La Ronde) which needs it.
Jason Maier 0
Well, I'll be making my trip up there on Columbus Day. I don't really plan on getting a FP (someone said many pages back that Columbus Day isn't really that crowded) for the rides, but may for the Haunted Attractions Which show(s) and haunted attractions do you all recommend?
