Six Flags Great Adventure (SFGAdv) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Yeah they showed up on my app too. Seems like the exact same days as last year, and there are BAF days on those weird November weekends between FF and HITP so I'm happy its confirmed they'll be open again then. Those have been good weekends to visit the last two years.

Yeah, even with those discounts those days are pretty much guaranteed to be incredibly slow. I feel like eventually they can build up attendance on that first weekend with the Grape Adventure though.

Also, sorry for the double post but the Bring a Friend Free days are out. Avoid going to the park on a Sunday in May or June (aside from Memorial Day Weekend) through June 18th or any Friday in August. Aside from that you should be good. Take notes! Don't be like me...

It appears that I won't be visiting the park in May or June. I used to love Sunday mornings at SFGAdv in May and June.

Same here, I'll be avoiding those days. I decided to get cedar fair platinum passes and a Busch Gardens Williamsburg platinum pass this year so this makes it an easier choice as to which parks I'll be spending more time at this year.

Ah, crap. I was going to go on a Friday in August.... Now, I'm going to have the Gold Flash Pass. How bad are we talking? Is it still likely to be okay with the Flash Pass, or should I redo my vacation plans?

Chiming in to say the gold FP will be fine, especially if you are stopping by Thursday for a bit like I think you said you were. Just make sure to reserve each ride as soon as they scan you in to the previous ride, don't wait until you are done and exiting. This way the time you spend riding you are also queuing for your next ride. Saves a lot of time and will get you on much more.

"All-new spiraling coaster, now open."

Yep, it's official. I hate Six Flags.

I could tolerate it when it said "looping coaster" but spiraling... Really??

Maybe they threw in a few helixes and just haven't told us yet.

I'm going to throw a fucking tantrum. I am super concerned after it was announced this morning that Colossus would open for 2017 either.

And I was going to go back to SFGADv this year.

^I hope so. But if the park confirmed this with an online fan group, they should have immediately corrected it on their website.

Great Adventure Online is saying that the website has not been updated since HiTP, but El Toro is the only coaster that says closed for the season. For reference KK and K:DoD, Runaway Mine Train don't show closed for the season. Log Flume and Justice League show not open yet.

The way it appears in Six Flags current website is just odd.

Part of me wants this to hold true just to watch enthusiasts lose their poo-poo...

While no one should ever lose one's "poo-poo", El Toro being down the whole year is a much more valid reason than freaking out over a new ride's prospective name or getting pissy over Larson Loops getting called coasters.

That said, I trust the moderator of that group; he's an excellent and reliable source for information. I'm sure it's just an error.

I've been watching the website, and not much has been done to it since the season ended. The Flash Pass screen still doesn't say whether Justice League is on it and says Joker is new for 2016, and still lists dummy prices for each tier. I think the website hasn't been a real priority to them over the offseason.

Why do I feel like I remember something like this happening with their website last year (or maybe the year before)? With certain things listed as closed and then we showed up opening day and all was fine? Relax everyone, I'm sure The Bull will buck again this season.

And I'll be there first thing opening day making sure its happening.
