boldikus
I've grown tired of the carnival rides that they've been trying to pass off as coasters to the GP, which includes the newest install for 2016....... I understand this complaint if you are talking about the Larson Loop but the freespin is pretty next level, not sure what carnival ride you could compare it to other than a Zipper, but even then it's totally different. I can't say I personally want it, but it'll be great for the park and the GP will eat it right up. Also how is that "Titan" trademark rumor any real confirmation that our park is getting anything? LOL. It could be anything for any park.

I have a serious sense of deja vu right now... wait a minute. ...we can expect more carnival rides getting installed in parks (like the new one they are building on the lake at SFGA)... ...the one trick pony!) And this year's carnival ride being built as we speak is just that..... You know the more you repeat something doesn't automatically make it any more true? ImNotOneOfYou
From what I saw, 'Titan' has been trademarked by the chain, not the park. If that is true, Great Escape is not out of the picture. With that being said, SFGAdv has not been put into the picture any more than the other parks in the chain. Cool! Thanks for confirming that we will "finally" get a major addition at SFGA! Is finally in quotes because their last major addition was opened all the way back in a few months from now? If this isn't a major addition, I'm pretty sure you will say El Toro was their last major addition because only 50% of people include Green Lantern as a new addition and your standards for "major" are set too high. What an offseason this has been.

DoinItForTheFame
I wonder if anything has come of those awesome two piles of gravel?! Six Flags better be careful, or someone is going to climb over those fences, then climb up the pile of gravel, and get hurt. . . Of course then they will try to sue the park because the fences are not tall enough.
coasterbill
I love the ridiculous amount of people that parade around saying that we haven't received a major addition in years. Just in the last few years we got 5 flat rides including one over 200 feet tall. We got a 90 minute long Safari ride in the park which really makes our park unique among regional parks and is easily one of our best rides, we got the tallest drop tower in the entire world and last year we extended the season over 2 months. Six Flags added millions of seasonal Christmas lights and we now have the ability to ride Nitro, Batman, Superman, Skull Mountain and Dark Knight (did I forget something? Nah... Lol) until January. Personally I think that's the single best addition this park has made since I started visiting in 2000. Of course I feel like I should say it's El Toro but we can ride Nitro in January now... how freakin awesome is that?

Hell, it's better than it was even five years ago. I don't understand how this is lost on people and yet, it always is.
boldikus
Doesn't matter, dudes. Years ago people complained we needed flats now we have a decent collection and now we need more coasters, right? Isn't that how it goes? Even though we have one of the best most well rounded line ups on the planet? But none of them are "real" coasters, right? Again, I'm not a big fan of the addition of the Joker but it makes perfect sense tbh. It adds something different to the lineup, it will look great at the end of Main Street, the new name/theme gives the ride even more marketability, and the ride is next level enough for locals/GP to be all "WTF is this!?!" For anyone who complains what we *should* get, some thoughts: B&M giga. We already have Nitro and Kingda Ka. Ka is taller than a giga and Nitro does what a giga does. Why would the park install a giga again? Also when was the last time SF spent B&M giga money on a new attraction? An RMC woodie. We have El Toro, which gives a comparable ride experience to the custom ground up all wood RMCs (maybe without inversions but do you really need inversions when you have the kind of ride experience you get on El Toro?). Also, because of our lack of existing woodies to convert to hybrid we're even less likely to get an RMC. At least til every other SF park has one. Don't hold your breath. B&M wing rider. We are kind of getting one in The Joker, right? The seats are on the outside of the track. And its much cheaper than a big giant B&M wing rider. Also, we have enough B&Ms, including one of the best floorless coasters (which in a roundabout way provides a similar experience of having nothing above or below you). Also wing riders are fun but they are not life altering. A Premier launcher. Admittedly what I'd like most but I understand why the park would not install one of these. We have the tallest launch coaster in the world. We also have a wide variety of steel coasters that provide totally different riding experiences. So unless they did build a bigger YOLO clone, giving it the world tallest loop, why else would the park install one of these? From a marketability standpoint, we already have the 2nd fastest launch coaster in the world and a combined 15-20 inversions on other coasters in the park. A dueling launched coaster (Premier, RMC T-Rex, whatever this weeks pipedream is). For one, cost. If anyone has been paying attention to how frugal SF has been over the last 5 years or so with their additions knows that the chain is not going to put this type of money into a new attraction. I know everyone mourns for the loss of Chiller but adding a dueling coaster is essentially adding two coasters at once and do people really think SF is going to spend that kind of dough with their track record recently? B&M Dive Machine - Again, cost. Not to mention its height wouldn't really be marketable considering we already have the tallest coaster in the world, that already has a 90 degree/vertical drop. It really comes down to "What do you give the park that has everything (without breaking the bank)?" People will complain no matter what. The grass is always greener. Personally I'm pretty happy with the parks lineup at the moment and I've come around to being happy about the freespin. I'm really excited about the 2016 season. We still have a lot of great B&Ms, El Toro, some solid junior coasters, SORA, a decent flat collection. The freespin fits. Its not what I want but it fits. And its certainly a "real" coaster, and a next level one at that. Most importantly, people will flock to it (and away from Toro and Nitro). Eyes on the prize, dudes. Yeah, no one can say we haven't been spoiled the last few years, at least compared to most of the chain. The Safari rennovation and Zumanjaro in particular were massive jobs. The saltiness as far as coasters go, at least for me, comes from getting essentially 5 coasters (2 tracks on Chiller and RT, and GASM) ripped out in 6 years, with a Wild Mouse, 15 y.o relocated standup, and a Ring of Fire to replace them. Joker helps, but it is a bitter pill to swallow when it feels like our collection was better 10 years ago than it is now. Still, we are absolutely blessed to have a park of this caliber. And it is league's above where it was in the rundown early '00's or the Shapiro era of ripping out everything.
strz
Mission accomplished! Some good banter about our park! I'm totally aligned with you guys that the park continues to get better and better...... That said, I'm a spoiled b%^#h who "only" likes speed and heights- so I keep waiting for the next Kingda Ka and El Toro to get installed.....anything less is a "disappointment!" (the best analogy I can provide is like my sports teams- I always want the biggest and best Free Agent out there signed to my team; anything less is a "disappointment!" Good stuff as always! michaellynn4
^ + ^^ + ^^^ Just stop. Stop it. I'm begging you. On another note - coasters aren't everything. Great Adventure has done a great job of making this park more well-rounded for all types of park guests. I'd love a big coaster addition as much as the next guy, but I don't and will never get the people who put their own desires over what's best for the park. Spoiled coaster enthusiasts really need to stick a sock in it.

Vonni
My personal opinion, I'd like to see SF bring GCI to GA and bring back a traditional wooden coaster. That would be a great addition for the park, with a great coaster manufacturer! The coaster the park is in need of? Why a Vekoma Boomerang of course! SFStL has a really pretty one we could send your way!
Lightnin Loops
Ill be happy with a bunch more Coke freestyle machines added to the park. Being that the food lines have got so bad lately , they park could free up tons of food employees and add a ton more freestyle machines. Even SFNE has more freestyle machines then us. we don't need anymore coasters we have by far the best lineup in the country.

Password121
^I agree, we don't need our version of Magic Mountain's Apocalypse at Great Adventure. They've done a pretty good job maintaining El Toro as it's aged, but I don't know much of that is the pre-fab design that prevents it from getting rough with inconsistent work done on it. Vonni
American Thunder at SFStL is still doing very well, and is regarded by some as the best coaster in our park. It was built in 2008. I think it just depends on the park.
michaellynn4
I really enjoyed AT back in 2013. It was definitely maintained better than Roar at SFA. If Great Adventure is able to maintain a similar ride, I'd be on board.
