coasterbill
I agree. Justice League makes way more sense, especially for Holiday in the Park and to grow their appeal for families which is something they've been actively working. It's consistent with additions like Deja Vu, SORA, Bumper Cars, Sky Screamer (to a lesser extent) and Holiday in the Park which target this market. They've done plenty for thrill seekers lately with Joker, El Diablo and Zumanjaro and even though enthusiasts will never be satisfied and always want more, Justice League is a very likely choice for this location and for 2017. boldikus
All I have to say is that if they are making room in Old Country for the Justice League ride (and I don't think they are), they might as well just change the park to Six Flags Great Takis DC Universe Adventure since the DC rides will be in more areas of the park than they are not. In regard to all this Chiller-building-coming-down/T-Rex insanity, if we get two coasters in two years I'll be shocked. I know its happened before, and I do believe Fitzgerald was quoted as saying that a revitalization of Old Country was in the works, but I think whatever is happening there may not comes to fruition for a few more years. Just don't touch Skull Mountain. That's all I care about. Another whiskey please...
Superbatboy
It'll be interesting to see if SF actually forks over dough for major investments in back to back years. While Joker is a budget coaster of sorts, it's still a major investment.

Jcoaster
I think if they do go with a coaster in 2017 it'll be the raptor model (smaller version of a T-Rex) . This might be easier to go with since it is prototype. This could be really cool with a fast paced Intamin blitz type layout.....Hey I can dream. Considering it's the prototype, and considering SF's cheapness, I do feel there is a good chance the first installation will be the Raptor model. In some ways I liked the concept layout better than the T-Rex because of its compact nature and more elements packed per foot. If they expanded the concept layout a bit it would be a perfect addition to our lineup. They did say they want the Raptor design to be a cookie-cutter, so it wouldn't surprise me if GAdv was the first to get it, with a few other parks getting a clone/near-clone. Parks like SFA and SFFT would be great fits for the Raptor design as its a high quality steel coaster but could be affordable and fit tight footprints. Jcoaster
^ I agree, I'd prefer a coaster with a more compact, twister layout. We already have two out and back beasts with Nitro and El Toro.
njcoasterguy34
Actually, with El Toro, you get the best of both worlds. You get a nice out-and-back in the beginning and finish with a nice twister.
Drexs003
As happy as I would be to get a T-rex coaster were chiller was I am not to sure if I want GADV to get another prototype. I mean that area is not even a very lucky pice of land. Haunted house- caught on fire Chiller- Was always down t-rex (to be announced)

michaellynn4
The haunted house was where the Autobahn was. Chiller's spot was the old Scrambler, Space Shuttle, and smaller Ferris wheel prior to Chiller's addition.
terdferg
Man, that chiller station was pretty great. I mean, the next (possible) coaster in that spot will probably have a concrete platform with canvas tents over it. sucks they couldn't reuse it for something. Generational
If SFGADv wouldn't want to jump the gun on a T-Rex coaster, perhaps a revitalization of the area would start with a Premier Sky Rocket II. I doubt that they would go for something like that, especially after installing The Joker which utilizes the same concept of a very compact footprint, but it is a thought. Especially since the land where Chiller sat would be a nice home for it, if they choose not to expand that area for a larger coaster.

I had only been able to ride it a handful of times while it was in SFGAdv, so it was interesting to relive it.

Nitro1118
One thing I would like to see for 2017, regardless of whatever addition comes our way, is a nice, decently large sitdown restaurant. BOTW, Granny's, Johnny Rockets and the new La Cocina are all ok, but for a park our size, we could really use a modern restaurant. I love what they did with La Cocina, and would like to see something similar, but larger in scale. If OC is to be rennovated, obviously something near the theater would be ideal. If not, maybe something over by the lake could work out well. The other major reason is food choices was a big issue for HITP this year. A nice, heated restaurant with drink offerings and maybe a few flat screens showing sports would be a great way to take a break from the cold. Generational
I remember watching this documentary a while back, but the first minute of it shows Chiller, Evolution, the Bumper Cars, and the topic of the film is the Haunted Castle. I believe this was made in 2003. It is interesting to see the area go from a described "high traffic" area, to completely abandoned in its current state. Jcoaster
^ When it was open, from what I remember, it was a very crowded area most times of the day.

All I heard during Holiday in the Park was that getting food was a giant problem but we went 4 times and never once experienced this. I've never stepped foot in Grannies and never will because I hate the majority of generic Six Flags food but anyone who went to Panda Express during the event was greeted with much better food, no lines and much better service. It's an indoor temperature controlled restaurant and nobody remembers it exists.

strz
It's also not on the dining plan. Correct! And not to turn this into a food discussion for 62 pages today, however: - The "restaurants" are just fronts for the same fast-food you can get at any outdoor establishment (less a couple of menu exceptions for some like "Best of the West" - I agree that a better restaurant would be a welcome addition - I understand that creating something unique/"better" would be an additional expense in food cost/staffing/overhead....whose upside (i.e.- profit) may not be worth the risk! As I think about it more and more for SFGA: - I'd like the cleanliness and upkeep to be like a Disney park (well- ok, I'll be more realistic- better than it is today works too!) - I'd like the rides to continue to be focused on the "latest and greatest" thrill rides! - I'm willing to pay more $$$ for the upkeep (i.e.- season pass cost, daily ticket prices, food costs, etc.) however- I'd suspect that I'd be in the minority Bottom line- people are willing to "forgo" the aesthetic issues for the cheapness of the season pass and daily tickets!
