robbalvey
Total Mayhem Will Ensue in 2016 Six Flags Great Adventure to Debut the Most Insane Coaster in Its History JACKSON, N.J. ─ September 3, 2015 ─ Six Flags Great Adventure will dominate as the king of chaos in 2016 when the world’s largest theme park debuts the 14th and most unique scream machine in its history, Total Mayhem. After being lifted straight up a 12-story, 90-degree hill, this 4-D, free-fly coaster will wreak havoc as riders flip head-over-heels at least six times along the weightless journey. Thrill seekers will experience exhilarating leaps and dives along a horizontal plane, along with unexpected drops as they tumble from one level to the next. The wing seats amp up the pandemonium since riders will experience all of this chaos with no track above or below – just the sky, ground and adjacent Great Lake churning around them. "We are thrilled to unveil one of the newest concepts in roller coaster engineering with Total Mayhem,” said Park President John Fitzgerald. “Six Flags Great Adventure’s world-renowned coaster collection will expand into the realm of insanity – or spinsanity – with this new, vertical coaster that delivers gravity-defying somersaults with utter unpredictability. It is the perfect addition to our dynamic line-up of award-winning roller coasters because this ride delivers next generation, cutting-edge thrills.” The unique design of Total Mayhem features: Massive, imposing, floating and twisting I-box track frame in a unique two-tone design One-of-a-kind onboard magnetic technology featuring smooth head-over-heels free-fly flips providing guests the feeling of weightlessness as they soar outside the confines of a traditional track 4-D wing vehicles that seat up to 8 per vehicle with a total of 5 vehicles Face-off seats that allow riders to face each other as they tumble head over heels A 120-foot-tall, 90-degree hill that is ascended by an elevator-style, chain link lift Two beyond 90-degree “raven” drops giving the sensation of free-falling Total Mayhem is expected to ensue spring 2016, and joins the ranks of legendary roller coasters like El Toro, Kingda Ka, Nitro and 2015’s El Diablo. KBrylczyk
Replying first before all of the idiot fanboys of this park do nothing but whine about how they "deserve" something better. A 4D Free Fly is an AMAZING ride and you little bastards are gonna love it, regardless of how butthurt you are. Now shut up.
livai
someone explain to me, why six flags continues to attractions put low capacity per hour?!?
KBrylczyk
^ IT'S NOT LOW CAPACITY, YOU DOLT! Holy crap, why don't you idiots do some research before whining?!

livai
750 PPH is that stated by S & S, which is already low. in a park that is 2 million and a half and almost a mockery. but I do not think that in this six flags interests. p.s:without counting the flash pass, that at least halves the capacity
KBrylczyk
^ 750 pph is HARDLY low capacity, guy. Get your head on straight. Also, did you seriously say Flash Pass will halve capacity? You're, like, short-bus special, dude. Wow.
coneyislandchris
Okay, so this might be the unpopular opinion around here, but I am actually really excited for this. As someone who doesn't really get to travel the country and world on a frequent basis, for the most part, I'm limited to what they have at the nearby parks. So having not set foot on a wing coaster or a free spin before, it'll be nice to finally get to try it out. I think this is a great addition and something that's going to be an unique experience amongst rides in the Northeast. Looking forward to riding it, and hopefully it will do its secondary job as well and thin out lines from the other star attractions at SFGAdv. Superbatboy
I'm hearing murmurs about new restraints on KK?? Anyone know anything about this?
Coaster Hero
^I've heard about it once but I'm not putting any stock in it. It would be really cool because I've heard Maverick's are great, but I don't think that's happening. I remember everyone was complaining that this thing would look ugly on the lake, but honestly it looks pretty damn good, I can't lie. I'm worried about the lines though... this year has been very crowded so if next year is like this, I expect long lines for this thing. I really like how it opens up views of the lake, the area just looks better now but I'm not going to fully judge from just a render. I'll try it for sure, and I'll try to make this thing spin as much as possible. It's a good addition, different from anything we already have, so why complain? Oh yeah, I forgot, unless it's a 400ft Intamin Aquatrax someone will always find a flaw and complain to death about it
madmax
I305's restraints are awesome. Would love to see KK get them.

woolandmammoth
I just can't believe they named it Total Mayham. I mean, thats a really dumb name. I understand this is Six Flags and I should expect much, but what the heck. At least its not super hero themed. Overal, It makes for a good addition. I think some people on this site don't realize just how slammed Gadv can get and thus don't understand locals capacity paranoia. If other posters who are saying the capacity is not that bad are right, this is a great addition.
boldikus
LOL I wake up and check this thread and its now more people complaining about people complaining than the actually complainers themselves. Good job, guys. As I stated many times before the announcement, this isn't what I personally would've wanted and I'm gutted they are plopping this ugly thing in front of the freshly cleared out lakefront not to mention the name is horrible, but now that it confirmed, this will be a huge hit for the park. After the super loop fiasco we're actually getting a coaster! WOOT! The GP is gonna eat it right up and it will take crowds away from the rides I go to this park for. So its a win. I'll be grabbing my 2016 season pass regardless of this addition, but I'll check this out. (Passholder previews FTW.) Maybe it will be awesome, we'll see come July 4th! YOU DOLT! you idiots! You're, like, short-bus special, dude. Wow. Dude is it possible for you to disagree with someone with insulting them? Jesus.
jedimaster1227
Looks like a fun ride for sure... But as others have said, the location and theme decision seem a little silly. Knowing Six Flags though, this will likely be re-themed and integrated into a semi-themed realm in the next decade and marketed as totally new. DoinItForTheFame
Well, turns out the video was real. Guess I'll go eat my shoe now... or something like that. I will say that I have yet to go on Batman at SFFT, however it looks like a great addition to the park and the GP seems to love it, I'm sure the same will be the case for this park! At the end of the day it is still a new coaster for a park. Shouldn't we all be happy about that, regardless of how you personally feel about the coaster?? YOU DOLT! you idiots! You're, like, short-bus special, dude. Wow. Dude is it possible for you to disagree with someone with insulting them? Jesus. THIS. It's okay to have a different opinion then someone else, but really?? Some of the insulting is just being downright hateful. "Short-bus special?" I mean really??? 1.) That could be incredibly offensive to someone on here who may have special needs children. 2.) Do you really feel the need to go that low in order to make yourself feel better about your side of an argument?? 805Andrew
I'm glad another S&S 4D Free Fly is getting built. It looks like a better version of a ZacSpin. This will be a great addition to the park, even if it has a dumb name.
b&mforever
The capacity complaints are completely valid. This is a park that has rides with upwards of 1500 people per hour some close to 2000 per hour. Nitro easily can exceed that 1500 per hour in real world capacity. Lets say that this ride is able to achieve 80% of its theoretical capacity on a regular basis. Thats still less than half of Nitros Capacity. This allows the line to build up and get longer vs something like nitro that often eats through the line faster than it can form.
DirkFunk
It's a ride with the same theoretical capacity as a Vekoma Boomerang being run by Six Flags crews. I mean, OK. It could be worse.
RollerManic
Being the small model, I would have loved it to be placed above the old chiller station, using that as the station. Placement is my only gripe. This is a great, modest addition that the GP will eat up.

Get people consistently circulating through this new area with a coaster, fill it in with more rides later.
LiftThrill
I was sort of wishing it was the 10 inversion model. I really like the way SF is going with multi-color rails on their new coasters, and the color scheme of this looks cool. The name is sort of lame, but these rides are pretty fun, so yay. Sneetch2
As someone who worked for the company before and knows about theoretical versus actual capacity. Even if they dispatched 1 train every minute which as we all know is a stretch that is 480 people an hour. And like someone said once you add flash pass the line will move at a snails pace. It is a very very low capacity coaster. Now with that being said do I think this is what Great Adventure should have gotten absolutely not. But on the flip side am I excited to ride it HELL YEAH! I am a coaster enthusiast so my ass will be on it as soon as the chance arises.
