Ed Farmer
I was fine with it as Batman: Knight Flight and Dominator while it was in Ohio. I think it's the best sitdown looper B&M has after Kumba (and presumably Dragon Khan, though I haven't ridden). Whatever this mysterious rattle is, it's doing a good job of not being there during my rides. I've seen it mentioned for some of their non-inverting lapbar only hypercoasters. I hope those people live in a bubble.
megametal
I've never noticed Dominator rattle, and I ride it frequently. Green Lantern was forceful, but not rough to me... The only rough, rattly B&M I've been on is Vortex at Carowinds.
alilstronger
I am going to go out on a limb here and state I did not like The Green Lantern at all. It was not fun to me. Glad I did not wait more than 30 minutes for it.

I do, however, agree with you - I think that's it's one of their best and easily their most unique looper designs, and I love it! Diamondback, on the other hand, actually was ruined for me by the rattle...maybe it's particular trains that are worse than others or something, but some of these B&Ms new and old are picking it up! It's not a roughness thing, just a vibration. Intamins do it too pretty often - Fahrenheit is a big offender. On-topic...Green Lantern has no rattle! larrygator
Today was Media Preview Day for Sky Screamer. The ride was open exclusively for the media before being turned over to the Season Pass holders. I took two rides including one with a Reverse POV camera. Enjoy the photos. I'm working on embedding the video so bear with me, if you watch it the video, the ride doesn't start until the 3:15 mark. Otherwise you just see me playing with the seat belt. Yes, a seat belt on a Star Flyer. Looks like I'm in the right place. I felt inadequate with my photography equipment standing next to this guy. Breakfast included banana and peanut butter sandwiches. Why, you may ask? After Park President Mark Fitzgerald spoke about the "new" Adventure Alley area, The Rutgers University a cappela group sang "Hound Dog" to start the festivities. Communications Director Kristin Siebeneicher rattled off the rides stats and introduced the first riders of the day, Elvis impersonators. That explains the peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Elvis' preparing for lift off. Rigging for the Reverse POV camera. My GoPro camera being installed. Everyone I talked to thought Sky Screamer with a great addition. Here are the GP waiting for the park opening rope drop. Many rushed to Sky Screamer not realizing it would not open to season pass holders for a few more hours. After this "hack" interviewed Kristen I talked to her about the origin of Adventure Alley and the incoming rides. Much of this was the results of the guest surveys where families strongly suggested rides the family could ride together (like a traditional amusement park). In looking at this as a return to Great Adventure's beginings (only one coaster and dozens of family rides) management decided to bring back some of the early park logos on their soon to open Scrambler (Deja Vu). You can see the old rainbow logo on the front of the cars and the balloon image on the right side. Air Jumbo is almost ready to fly also. I took a few photos from the Sky Ride. Unfortunately only the lake side was running so cables and towers got in the way of many shots. The trees get in the way also, but it's nice to have trees since we need shade and oxygen. Dork Shot New Looney Tunes topiaries in Adventure Alley Future home of Fender Benders. Kristen said the completely new bumpers cars are ready to ship from Italy and it will be a quick build. To open in June. Lastly, it was great to see Roger (Security Guard / Host) back enteraining guests with magic tricks. I had not seen him in me two early season visits to the park. I'm working on getting the POV posted so bear with me. Edited May 18, 2012 by larrygator
SharkTums
So I see they went with 'Elvis in his Final Days' theming judging from the looks of most of them!
RideofSteel
How long was the Skyscreamer's line? I'm going tomorrow night and hope to get a few rides on it.
larrygator
How long was the Skyscreamer's line? I'm going tomorrow night and hope to get a few rides on it. It is only open for season pass holders through the 21st. I would not expect more than a 15 minute wait tomorrow night. When I left the park at 2PM it was practically a walk-on. I don't know why but this made me (literally) laugh out loud. Great TR, can't wait for the video!
ernierocker
Good to see the park adding some flat rides. After trying the Windseeker finally, I really want to get on one of these Sky Screamers now. Having just the chain attached to your seats will probably freak me out a lot more than the Windseekers!
donkeyman18
Rode it today (missed you larry ) it was very cool. cheesy "six flags party" music but a fun ride and defiantly my new favorite flat ride. The line was walk on and I got in right away with no trouble. at about 4pm the ride broke down. overall I enjoyed the ride but would not wait more than twenty minutes for it. Final verdict- 7/

Having just the chain attached to your seats will probably freak me out a lot more than the Windseekers! On my second ride the wind kicked up a little, which you can feel on a Star Flyer. At CP on Windseeker, I didn't feel the wind off the lake moving us notable. But then again I might have been pre-occupied with the cold on Windseeker. BaMiTsPaT
What are the lines like on Thursdays during May? It doesn't seem like this would be all that popular a day to visit, but there must be some reason they're open. A lot of school trips happening? deguy123
I'm so glad this park (in my opinion) has made a turnaround and that they are adding flats. The park has amazing coasters and with these flats it's alittle more balanced. I already went opening weekend and while some operation on coasters were iffy...everything else was great! vacoaster09
The Security Guard with the Magic Tricks is one of the hidden gems of the park. Such a great guy. Awesome Coverage of Sky Screamer, I am scared of these things, can't help to think I am going to die... but I will give it a whirl on my next visit. cfc
So I see they went with 'Elvis in his Final Days' theming judging from the looks of most of them! That's the version of Elvis that most impersonators do--maybe because it doesn't matter how fat you are?

alilstronger
WOW!!!!! They got all of that finished FAST!!!!!!! RideofSteel
I rode the Sky Screamer tonight. Its a great addition to the park, but because of the trees it didn't feel too high. The Flying Dumbos were also running but we didn't ride. Everything had about a 20 minute wait except Superman, which was running one train. All 3 of The Lanterns trains are back in service! coasternut
I was looking on rcdb to find the cost of El Toro - my favorite woodie. It's not listed. Does anyone know it's price tag? I'm guessing it must be high since no other park has purchased an Intamin woodie.
golfburner1
Sky Screamer seems a lot better than WindSeeker because Windseeker only goes like 20 mph.
coasterfreak101
^^I was actually trying to figure that out myself the other day, and I couldn't find anything on it, Colossos, or T-Express anywhere. RCDB lists Balder as costing just under 10 million USD, so I would imagine that something like El Toro might go for closer to $15 million? Just a guess though. I'd certainly love to see more of them built than some of the rides with even higher price tags that go up.
Intimidator305
Windseeker only goes like 20 mph. The 6 Windseekers go 30 MPH.
