alpengeist04
^ I noticed that too. :? I believe they mentioned 181 feet in the official announcement and now they keep mentioning 188 feet. I'm not sure which number is correct.
Hercules
Well, Kingda Ka is 456 feet and the banners that they had made that are in the station say 458 They keep saying 456 though.

MF310ryb
I spoke with an employee regarding the banners it was a miss print on the part of the company that made them.

alpengeist04
Hey GAcoaster, Was construction delayed at all with the snow? Thanks.
GAcoaster
The park is being cryptic about that, but it seems like the weather has and looks like it will continue to delay work. They were originally saying top out by Christmas, now they say they'll top out by the end of the year.
Hercules
Oh no, I hope this doesn't turn into another Kingda Ka situation. I was thinking that Kingda Ka was a lot different, but they way they are stating things makes it sound very similar.
MF310ryb
Well I don't think this will delay it as much as Kingda Ka since they don't have to go as high and the problems they may encounter during testing wont be as big as Kingda Ka's but we are expecting about 7 inches of snow tonight since another storm is heading are way and we still have about an inch or two left from the previous storm beginning of the week. Hercules
We are supposed to get a little bit of ice too, so that can't be a good thing. That is basically what I was saying, it is not Kingda Ka, but they had been setting dates and times to get to certain things done and they had to keep being pushed off. I know it is not Kingda Ka, but any kind of construction deadlines that aren't met can't be a good thing for just about any coaster.
Rachel127
It looks amazing so far, hopefully the weather won't delay construction too much. Also, hopefully SFGadv will maintain it and not let it fall apart after a few years.

MF310ryb
Did I read one of those pictures right? No bridge so they are disconnecting those two areas. GADV is one of the few parks that is not flowing into each section. I was happy when they created the boardwalk entrance to Golden Kingdom. Did they say why they were doing this at the photo shoot? They really should keep it so the parks crowds flow smoother. It will cause a lot of congestions in the area near Golden Kingdom and Plaza del Carnaval. Rider117
Yes, sadly there will be no bridge connecting Toro to Medusa.
coasterguy618
^Yea that sucks. Also El Toro will have a cable lift as said on http://www.gainsider.com/.
haux
A holding brake before the cable lift? Why not just make it go straight out of the station like Intamin hypers? Also, a cable lift on a woodie is cool. I was waiting for Intamin to do this. Next we'll see overbanked turns.
coasterguy618
^They couldn't make the cable right out of the station because there would not be enough room and that is just the layout of El Toro.

Why not just make it go straight out of the station like Intamin hypers?quote]This couldn't happen because the train has to go through a turnaround to get to the lift hill....
