Hoppy
Edit - Forgot I cannot delete my post, so let's add more fluffy stuff. Glad to hear another coaster announced at SFGAdv...so many people every time I go there that (perhaps) this ride will finally free up some of the others so I don't have to wait 90-2hrs+ (I am looking at you, you low-capacity, slow Superman flyer!) Anyways, Total Mayhem could've been better...from what I saw on some of the 4D options. What! No 2nd lift to add intensity?

strz
CEDAR POINT UNLEASHES VALRAVN,THE WORLD’S TALLEST, FASTEST & LONGEST DIVE COASTER SANDUSKY, Ohio (Sept. 9, 2015) – Cedar Point will change the Lake Erie skyline once again with over 3,400 feet of thrill ride innovation when it introduces Valravn (val-rey-vuhn), the world’s tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster, in 2016. Valravn is the regal king of birds, swooping in to conquer all other dive coasters on the planet with its powerful and intense maneuvers, massive structure and immense ride vehicles. Valravn will become the 18th coaster to take reign at The Roller Coaster Capital of the World!® and will claim its rightful place among other record-breaking roller coasters at Cedar Point./quote] Just sayin'- this was the "level" of ride I was hoping for....oh well! TyRush
Six Flags is not in the business of making big investments right now, so personally I was not expecting anything big to be put here at one park while they have been on a trend of lower investment rides. Coaster Hero
Actually, when you think about it, it's not that far fetched. If the Sandusky Register was correct, Valravn is costing about $15 million, which is more or less the same price as X-Flight. I know that it was quite a while ago, but it's not really impossible. I know a few people have wanted a dive machine here for a long time. Now that I've seen how Valravn will revitalize its surrounding area, I'm even more excited to see what the lakefront will really look like next year. That's another plus. njcoasterguy34
I used to enjoy the scarcity of people in the lakefront area. Quite often I would use that path to get to Nitro and Batman just to avoid the crowds.
Coaster Hero
^True that. It was always a nice walk that way rather than having to get through the crowds down the main path

CoasterCarl
Just wanted to a share a throwback story from about 2/3 years ago. On one insanely crowded day the line for Nitro was over an hour long. There were a lot of line cutters that day for some reason, more than 5 people passed us in a span of 10 minutes. So my friends and I were standing in the queue right in front of Nitro's turn from the station to the lift when these line cutters passes us. For those not familiar with Nitro's queue, right around Nitro's first turn (that covered section right under Nitro's first turn), there is this high fence/wall with a horizontal cutout at the top at eye level. As the line cutters walked toward that section of the queue, I noticed two eyes staring at the line cutters through that horizontal cutout in the fence. When the line cutters made that right turn, a security was standing there and escorted them out of the queue. So basically, the security guard was standing in the perfect spot to catch line cutters! You couldn't tell it was a guard from the small opening in the fence. Plus it was kind of hilarious seeing the eyes through the fence. It was a pretty great moment seeing the line cutters get caught by such a genius security guard. Next time anyone is at the park, check out the fence on in Nitro's queue where I mentioned and check out the perfect spot for security guards! boldikus
Anyone gonna be @ the park tomorrow? It's a BAFF day but its also supposed to be pretty crappy weather so I'm hoping it's quiet. Taking a buddy who has never been, with ponchos in tow. Long live GreatAdv's rain policy!
njcoasterguy34
I plan on going tomorrow. Been a while since I've been this summer. Last weekend I was down in VA visiting KD and BGW. The three weekends before that I went to Knoebels twice and Dorney Park. I'm looking forward to riding Batman again now that the trains are facing forward again. michaellynn4
I might go. I was initially planning on making a trip up to Knoebels (first time), but the forecasts are scaring me off.
boldikus
I'm not 100% sure right now (he's gotta get his wifes permission lmao) but its looking good. If it does work out I'll be @ Toro first thing in the morning. There is a concert and that 5K inflatable run thingy. Hopefully they stay away from Toro lol. If you guys see me say hello. edit: I totally saw this coming. Sorry njcoasterguy34 (tho I'm personally stoked to do Namtab a few more times) They probably should have worded it "Will you brave the rain this weekend?" since its looking pretty crappy both days. Good time for us junkies to show up tho.
Hershey_Native
Does anyone see the possibility of SFGAdv. loading multiple Total Mayhem trains at a time? They could try to do something similar to the Roller Soaker at HersheyPark, where they load 3 cars at a time. Even if they only actually dispatch one at a time, do you think this could improve the capacity for 2016?
Coaster Hero
Heck yes. I'll be there hopefully Sunday, if not Monday. Rainy days rule because the park is literally empty and you can just get as many re-rides as you want, even on popular attractions like Kingda Ka. Plus, it's September which makes it even better
boldikus
Park is closed Monday.
coasterbill
And Kingda Ka doesn't run in the rain. Wow... we're just a couple of buzzkills over here.
boldikus
LOL basically. And you all know I could care less about Ka. Anyone know if they run Zumi in the rain?
Coaster Hero
Park is closed Monday. Oh well.. that's a shame. I guess Sunday it is then. Also, they will run Kingda Ka if it's not raining, even if it just rained. I went back in April and no less than 10 minutes after the rain stopped I was able to get a few re-rides on it. ^Zumanjaro also closes for rain like Kingda Ka. It once closed right when we got to the front after waiting an hour.
