VaCoasters 4
Well it's still sitting in the parking lot right now so I think 2022 is most likely.

I meant May. Alpengeist, InvadR and Verbolten are open tomorrow. This company is dumb. Quote I had to do a double take to make sure it was MAY 22nd!
thrillseeker4552 75
Anyone wanna bet that Pantheon will open before Kings Dominions does?
Mike240SX 123
This is still SEAS we're talking about. I wouldn't hold my breath. Have they even paid off their debts for the new rides yet?

KD still has to figure out what ride they're going to remove before installing the free spin. They've decided to go toe to toe with Six Flags in 2021, but only in the ride removal category. Luckily, they've been practicing.
anonymouscactus 56
Just saw this in the FAQ that I haven't seen talked about anywhere in any of the Cedar Fair threads...Those parks that didn't open for the 2020 season not only have their pass extended to 2021, but they also get an in park credit.Cool. coasterbill 655
“Let’s open two months late for no reason and then give everyone free money as an apology for how stupid that is.” Hey from a guest’s perspective... yay! Did I mention that Six Flags managed to charge a huge percentage of their member base every singe month they were closed and every single month since because they gave them all an extra line skip benefit for a few years that cost them $0? Lol god, I’m sorry. I really do like this company. I’m trying to stop endlessly dogging on them but like... they make it so easy. 2
jarmor 19
I get what you are saying but it honestly wasn't all Cedar Fair's fault. In states they could open didn't they open? I understand your disdain for Cedar fair operations but sometimes it's like you're salivating at the mouth just to rag on them. . .
coasterbill 655
I’m really not, I love the company but this last year-or-so... lol But they technically eventually opened their parks in the states where they could and then closed them super early for the season for no discernible reason, yeah. jonskinny12 11
Aren't KD and BGW in the same state?
dankeykang 54
Geographically, yes. Operationally, not so much...
Mike240SX 123
They are in the same state, but I know for certain that different regions of Virginia had different restrictions over the summer for a while.
boldikus 183
Kings Dominion had the exact same capacity restrictions as BGW did, 1000 people. Google news search for articles about KD from last summer and they all mention this. They were both able to open at the same time last August - Busch made it work, KD sat on their hands and continues to do so. I'm 110% with Bill on this one. He likes to twist the knife a bit in the name of humor, but its totally warranted in this case. I can't help but wonder wtf CF has been thinking.
prozach626 195
Too bad Volcano isn't still around. It was ahead of its time not only technologically, but it already had limited capacity down to a science. 2

alilstronger 1 Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM Is the park not offering Fast Lane this season? Was thinking about venturing down here this summer for just a day because I have not been in about 7 years and I see nothing about it on their website. I used to always get it here. At this point it's kinda a "wait and see" if they'll offer daily Fast Lane. Last year, KI didn't offer it until halfway through and CP didn't offer it at all. This year, CP has announced that it'll be available, and general presumption is KI will do the same. Remember, this year at KD is basically last year at other parks.
disownedpear 1
The email says something about "select attractions" being open, I hope we can get those specified soon enough.
coasterbill 655
"Select attractions" probably means "Whatever we can staff" and they might not even know until last minute.
