ernierocker 0
Went ahead and cleaned this thread up and took care of a certain member who didn't want to play nice with others. Now, I bring you back to your regularly scheduled Kings Dominion thread already in progress.
jarmor 14
It was asked about the line for intimidator, I waited. For one train
BeansproutMidget 0
I still find it funny that the line for I305 is always shorter than Volcano's. I'm not surprised, since a lot of people I know are still scared of I305, but will ride Volcano for eternity. But, it still makes me laugh.
Yubstep101 0
Well, today is when the last TOGO stand-up in America (North and South) closes.
megametal 0
Here's the article that will be printed tomorrow morning in the RT-D:http://m.richmond.com/news/local/article_973d2821-4711-531e-a76a-a856b3439565.html?mode=jqm Thay called the Intimidator 305 the Intimidator 360 . A few things to note are that a) Pat Jones stated that the Shockwave might be sold or donated (sorry, Dorney). b) She also said that it was being removed for a new attraction. Singular. That means a coaster (or an upcharge slingshot or a disko. Whatever we get, it's only one ride.) Flat-package hopefuls go home. Or something's going there and something else will be put elsewhere... The only thing I get out of the article is that: 1) ShockWave is out after today. 2) Something new is coming for 2016. I think the park's general manager, Pat Jones, gave enough information concerning ShockWave's fate and a confirmation/tease that Kings Dominion is getting something for 2016. I would not think a major park official would spill the beans on specifics of what's coming until the park is ready to make the official announcement. The attraction could be a single ride; But, what if the "A New Attraction" is an expanded Candy Apple Grove area with 2-3 new and/or classic flat rides? Given that the reporter was being a little inaccurate on ride names; they could have misquoted Pat when interviewing her. In any case, I'll just "stay home" until I hear/see Kings Dominion's official 2016 announcement.

Tee1999 0
I know you guys are tired of all this speculation but I've stumbled across this website about the replacement of shockwave and other future attractions. We can't for sure tell if its true or not but here. http://themeparksandtravels.com/2015/07/29/kings-dominion-update-and-the-latest-rumors-could-kings-dominion-be-clearing-land-behind-i-305/
gr8mat 0
Everyone is noticing the b&m hyper on the left side of the pic that shows all the coasters. But look between shockwave and Americana. In the back, what is that purple ride? Looks like a b&m invert.
DonkeysWaffles 0
I'm really hoping it's something that will deliver on the airtime that KD sorely misses.

My bet is still on the Shockwave plot and surrounding trees (adjacent to the Eiffel Tower walkway) being used for the 2016 attraction. However, Kings Dominion does have a lot of land back there, and I would not be surprised to see a 2017 attraction/roller coaster be the first to cash in on this untapped acreage. If the Intimidator is truly being renamed/rethemed, they might retheme it to an extraterrestrial theme to match the Flight of Fear (or retheme both coasters) and then a 2017 attraction behind it could expand upon this "Area 51" or other themed land concept. Here's a bold prediction: If a new coaster is truly being built behind Intimidator, then what will go on Shockwave's land is a DINING HALL. Why? Because Cedar Fair is keen on upgrading the food at their parks, as evidenced by Carowinds. Also, maybe a slingshot could go near it.
coasterbill 450
BTW this business of only running one train on Volcano is ridiculous. Wait they're running one train on Volcano during the summer season? Holy crap we all need to start a Plinko / Fastlane savings account.

pkdcoaster 2
Saturday morning me and my son went to get our last rides on Shockwave but of course took advantage of early ride time on I-305 and forecast said 0% chance of rain on Friday but of course at 1030am we were there in a downpour that lasted about an hour. I have never experienced pain like that before. 90+mph, front seat in the rain is quite the experience.but since I had my camera I thought it would make for good pics of people experiencing this crazy pain so here are some cool pics of I305 in the pouring rain. JEFF They love pain! ouch even the "slow" parts hurt like hell The wheel spray effect was really cool maybe this wasn't a good idea. You know that kid in row 1 will have a serious neck ache for days. I'm sure she kept her hands there till she got back to the station guy in row 2 took one in the eye, thanks to stadium seating

gr8mat 0
found this interesting. everyone has noticed the hyper coaster on the left that i circled in burgundy, but what about the invert behind intimidator305 that very few have noticed. could this be reason for land clearing behind i305? TB305 0
^Yes... We have all seen it... and discussed it... and concluded that it is only an artist's mistake or filler object so as to keep from having empty skyline. Look at all the other CF parks' banners and you'll find inaccuracies like this one. People need to stop thinking everything is a clue.
