Fast Lane. Spend the dough and there isn't a better way to save time than not waiting in the normal line.

I made the mistake of ordering Fast Lane Plus online before i went to KD. All day the crowds were VERY light and I was able to simply walk on everything. (40 rides on i305!). I suggest you get to the park early, check the weather and crowds and then decide if Fast lane Plus is needed. If crowds are large, it's very much worth the purchase.

if you are going on a week day, there's probably no need for fast lane in my opinion. Friday, Saturday, or Sunday during the summer? expect very long lines.

Well i'll be there the last weekend in August hopefully its open again by then. I find it highly unlikely that it will be that long before its open again.

At least I wasn't planning on visiting KD this summer. I'll probably be going in October, which I don't mind. Is i305's train still stuck on it's lift? I remember hearing that it can't go anywhere until the ride is fixed.

Oy! That's right on the bubble of when I'll be heading to the park. Well, hopefully I'll get the good end of this prediction and the I will finally get my ride on I305.

^That is correct; both trains are now resting comfortablely back at the station.

 

I went to the park yesterday ( 07/26/13 ) to ride my favorite rides twice and catch some shows I've missed the last time I was there. Because The Intimidator 305 wasn't running, I decided to not ride Volcano and Dominator as well. But I did ride Avalanche twice because it's celebrating its 25th season, plus the line was short and it's one of my five favorite rides inside the park ( along with Scrambler, Triple Spin, Rebel Yell, and Windseeker). Almost all the rides were walk up and ride them, but Volcano had its usual long line, as did Snoopy's Rocket Express. Woodstock Express had a long line!

 

Overall, I rode nineteen rides and saw two shows within a six hour time period. I don't know when I'll return to Kings Dominion ( it might be whenever Intimidator 305 is running or when they begin their Hallo Weekend), but I know I'll be back.

2013 Halloween Haunt Update!

NEW MAZES!

Kings Dominion will introduce two mazes for the Halloween Haunt’s 13th season: Haunt — “Miners Revenge” and “Zombie High.”

 

Miner's Revenge

“Miner’s Revenge” plays off the darkness of a coal mine where dead miners seek their revenge on unsuspecting guests, Petriello said.

 

Zombie High

And “guests may not want to attend the tragic high school prom,” he said, “where the dead are no longer dead at ‘Zombie High.”

 

Early rumors have Toxic Plague out and possibly even Club Blood leaving. In the article it states that there will be 10 mazes (same as 2012), so obviously 2 mazes will be leaving to make room for these two new ones. It would be nice if Toxic Plague and Club Blood were to be replaced because then that whole back corner would be new mazes. Hopefully the new mazes live up to the amazing quality we saw in No Vacancy last season (most detailed Cedar Fair maze I've been in).

 

Also the article states that there will be 25 more monsters this year for the park's 6 scarezones and 10 mazes, so that's a plus!

 

All in all it seems like Halloween Haunt XIII is heading in the right direction for a terrifying 13th season.

Even if he wasn't, he probably has to ask for time off well in advance with his job, which makes rescheduling a trip to Virginia somewhere in the realm of difficult to expensive to "no". Just rescheduling a trip sometimes isn't an option in life.

Depends on the night you go... if it is crowded, then they send a lot of people through and if they have moderate/light crowds then they only send 1-2 groups in at a time. The second weekend of Haunt has always been the time to go judging by my past experiences.

It's a shame that i305 has been down for so long. I live in Cincinnati and have dreams about that super intense Intamin masterpiece. I am ready to drive 9 hours and ride it all day long. Sadly, it will have to be next spring before i make it back.

Ditto. I was considering making a trip out to VA from CA solely to ride I305 this summer, but once the ride reopens I think my window will be too small at the end of summer to book the trip and go.

Next spring can't come soon enough.
