larrygator 7
Quick question. I couldn't remember from my trip 2 years ago, what is KD's lose article policy. If you lose something the park can not retrieve it until after the park closes.
xmichellex 0
Hey KD regulars--can the park be done in 2 (or 1 and a half) days in October? Thinking of going to BGW and KD, but both are only open Fri, Sat, Sun in October. How bad does Haunt affect the crowds? Should I even bother? I've never been to KD... I would definitely get a FL pass for the full day we'd have there, but I don't know if that's enough to get though everything (mainly the coasters). For those that frequent both parks--do you think both are do-able in a weekend? I would get a QQ at BGW as well...
cfc 35
The best night to go to Haunt is Friday. KD is only open from 7:00 pm to midnight, but it's a smaller crowd. But Friday is also the best night for HOS at Busch Gardens (Sunday isn't too bad). I know that Quick Queue at BGW will get you all the mazes at HOS, in addition to rides, but I don't know if this is the case for KD's Fast Lane (they did sell something called Fright Lane for Haunt last year). At any rate, if you hit either park on Saturday, you'll want Quick Queue or Fast Lane (BGW can hit capacity on Saturdays during HOS).
xmichellex 0
^ Thanks! Although, since I haven't been to BGW since Drachen Fire was still there, and I've never been to KD, I'm pretty much going to do just the coasters/rides... the haunt stuff would be if time allowed (if at all). Do ride lines get shorter during haunt because everyone goes to the mazes, etc? My initial plan was to do BGW Friday/Sat. morning--head to KD and get a twilight ticket for Sat. night and then have the full day on Sunday...
Coaster_Fanatic 0
Well, after riding Kingda Ka at SFGAdv, I REALLY hope that my homepark can get a strata. Not next year necessarily, but in the near future. Also, I just realized that KD will have the record for the most 300 foot tall structures in a single park after Space Sprial's removal. Maybe that will be the new record? (GOD I hope not.)

Not haedly...they've already gotten that record. As for what's coming in 2013 we won't know till the announcement but I doubt it's a new huge coaster of the 300ft. variety as construction would've started by now as we saw with I305 back in mid 09. It doesn't matter much to me since my season is shot thanks to what happened in recent weeks, which is why I havn't been back on the forum till now.I'm hoping my sister & her family will get 2013 passes so I can possibly go next season ut I doubt it at this point as it depends heavily on their finances as to wether or not they can afford a four pack of passes or not. Chefkitchen 0
Hey everyone. I am at the park right now. Now I could be crazy, but, I could of swore I saw something hiding behind the trees behind the grizzly turn around. Looks red and possibly some yellow coaster track? Has anyone else noticed this while riding Grizzly?
CPFanBoy 0
^maybe its the "2013 recordbreaker" mentioned on their website
Chefkitchen 0
Yea, I saw that on the website this morning so I have been looking around all day for clues. Rode wind seeker after grizzly to see if I could see anything else but whatever it is they have it well hidden against the tress. I sware I saw some red coaster track back there, but don't mark my word! Next time someone rides grizzly take a look for yourself. Once you hit the turn around after the first drop look to the right behind the trees.
Fooz 0
The old 305 turn & supports are back there.
Skycoastin Steve 0
Yes, it's the old track and supports from the first turn of 305. Have you guys really not noticed that before? It's been there since opening day last year.
cfc 35
Yep--it's just the old I305 track and supports.
Chefkitchen 0
Roger that! Sorry guys, I only get to go to KD once a year when I am down here on vacation from Boston visiting my family. That is why I never saw it before.

Intimidator305 0
Halloween Haunt XII news! The new maze inside the left side of the Action Theater will be called "The Inn at Darkside Manor: No Vacancy". There will be a new scare zone in the Congo replacing "The Ruins" called "Primevil: The Kuru Curse". There will be a new scare zone in the Grove replacing "CarnEvil" called "Cleaver Brothers Carnival". tiny.cc/KDTVHauntPreview I really like these changes and the new scare zones will fit in their areas of the park very well. The new hotel themed maze also makes sense in that location considering it is on International Street with a travel theme to it. In case you all forgot, the blueprints for "The Inn at Darkside Manor: No Vacancy" were released a few weeks back... here they are again!
mhuffva 0
After watching the 2012 Haunt preview video, Kings Dominion certainly has taken things up a notch or two with this Halloween event. It appears they are going all out with the props for the new maze and the 2 new scare-zones. Hopefully, there will be another Haunt preview video before it starts the last weekend in September. I think KD shot the current video at the beginning of August. I also saw last years haunt preview video (2011) and they stated the Iron Works (steam-punk) scare-zone was to include new props for 2012. I thought KD said it was adding overhead girders/steam pipes to connect the central "Generator" with the light fixtures and scene shadow boxes for 2012. In honor of Chuck, they are adding 40 new fog machines throughout the park. I thought I heard Chuck mumbling about buying a personal radar to use to navigate around the park this fall. cfc 35
^"Personal radar" and night vivison goggles. I have nothing against plenty of fog at Halloween events, but KD can go a bit overboard (but in a good way).
Intimidator305 0
It wouldn't be Haunt at Kings Dominion if you were able to see more than 8 inches in front of you! Love the fog!

Rastuso 0
One year Universal gave one person per group a hardhat with a light on it in the Pseidon attraction. We had to walk through the water tunnel, and I hit a short wall with my shin quite hard. I can't believe how dangerous it, which is why said attraction didn't return, I'm sure. -RO
