Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom Discussion Thread

p. 201 - Iron Menace announced for 2024!

Occasionally, two scoops of crazy is just what you need to breathe some life into a thread about an otherwise, middle of the road park.

I can't help but say I've enjoyed reading the last few pages

I like the style they're going with for the bumper cars. Whether it rides well or not, at least it will look great.

The space that Hang Time left behind after its removal made that area of the park feel emptier than the rest of the park, excluding the queue switchbacks.

That picture shows record attendance

Other updates are on Cirque Imagine, Papa Luigi's (didn't do much), and the new coca cola refresh station. Wonder what's the deal with Kaleidoscope since that's the only thing that didn't arrive yet..... Anyways Photo Cred: Dorney Park

Apparently, there is a bet going on between Dorney Park and Hersheypark right now. In the AHL playoffs, the Hershey Bears are up against the Allentown Phantoms in a best-of-five series. If the Hershey Bears win (Go Bears!), then Dorney park will fly a Hersheypark flag over Dorney, and if the Phantoms win, then a Dorney Park flag will be flown over Hersheypark. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Currently, the Bears are up 1-0 in the series.

It would be even better if it was teams people cared about

No surprise there, being AHL teams. Most people don't care about the AHL since it's below the highest level in the sport. That's how it is with every major competitive sport.

On the bright side, it's a perfect match for Dorney, since Dorney is a park few people care about combined with an AHL hockey team that few people care about.

A few people caring is a little high for Dorney.

I didn't really want to go thru almost 400 pages of the forum but my husband and I are planning on going to Reading, PA for a WWE event on Saturday, June 3rd. While we're there we're wanting to visit Dorney Park on Sunday, June 4th. How are crowds on Sunday? Where is a good place to stay in the area for the weekend? What is worth riding? Is anybody going to be in the area on that Sunday as we'd love to meet up with any fellow TPR members? Thanks!
