The Cruise Ship and Cruise Line Discussion Thread!

P. 139: Royal Caribbean releases new Ultimate Destination details

^I wouldn't be so quick to judge the merits of their suit based on what we know. I imagine that this class action, like many others before it, will settle before it reaches trial.

I dunno. .based on the comments regarding the Ship's crew, and some very nice looking Youtube video of the trip?. . I don't see how a case can be made.

even if there is some awful pictures/video -- the "good" stuff counteracts it.

no way would a ruling go against the Cruise Line. . I just don't see it.

Here's the thing about these lawsuits: the lawyers never intend to have them go to trial. They're basically just trying to annoy carnival (or their insurance company) enough to the point a settlement is offered, since there is zero chance Carnival wants anything coming out in discovery that would be even more harmful to their brand.

Hmm--I rather doubt a "nice" You Tube video would be compelling as evidence (the right music and editng can make even the foulest garbage dump look like paradise), but the standard of proof is lower for a civil case than for a criminal case. That being said, I'd be surprised if this ever saw trial.

Here's a quote from a friend of mine on Facebook that's rather amusing:

In the headlines: "Passengers sue Carnival for not providing seaworthy ship." If I were Carnival, I'd sue the passengers for being too stupid to stay home and read a good book...

Hi all! I'm not a regular poster but read lots on here. I love the cruise and coasters banter. I forget who was looking for something out of LA but i can recommend the Sapphire Princess.

My question is has anyone sailed out of New Jersey with RCI? Thinking of the 9 day cruise with a few days at Six Flags added on before flying home. Looking at May and park will be a weekend what sort or weather and crowds at park?

Thanks in advance.

Happy Coasting and Cruising

RT @USATODAY: Titantic II cruise ship will be built in China & set sail in 2016: http://usat.ly/ZGSr3J

Titanic II 're-creation' ship to be built, set sail on same route as Titanic in 1912 http://ow.ly/i4wAo

This will end well.......

After the first year I can't imagine why people would want to sail on this ship. Transatlantic crossings would not be my idea of fun. Especially in Winter in rough seas and it is cold. Besides, Titanic is not a pretty ship by todays standards.

^Yeah, I'd be a little concerned about a "Golden Horse version" of the Titanic.

The sides of the ship would probably be plastic, and the lifeboats would be made out of balsa wood.

Cool concept, but they guy's history in promising fancy projects and never finishing them doesn't help me think this ship will see the light of day.

Thanks for tips sharktums! We hoping for the 8th May 2014! so should miss those dates. Did some research and biggest complaints were its cold sailing in January. As if RCI could magically make Tropical temperatures in New Jersey in January lol.

Thanks Again

It can't fare any worse than the original, right?

In a bizarro world, a Golden Horse Titanic might actually finish its voyage.
