The Cruise Ship and Cruise Line Discussion Thread!

Yeah, there's no way I could ever do another "Klassy Kruise" if only for the fact that once you get on the ship, you tweet a few photos going "Ha! Ha! Look at where we're at! lol" and then shortly after the joke is over and would set in "Oh... we're actually on this crappy ship...." and you're stuck there for a few days.

No thank you. Once was more the enough!

I agree. I was thinking it would be fun to do a Klassy Kruise 2 when everything was happening, but when I really thought about it I came to my senses. It would be for about the first hour, and then we'd just be stuck on another Carnival Cruise.

RCCL moving a ship back to California isn't a ridiculous notion FWIW. They haven't posted out Europe in 2014 and they've been posting losses on those itineraries for a little while. They've made some statements about looking to concentrate more on the North American market, so who knows.

Also, maybe Carnival needs a quick buck because they also sold half the Seabourn fleet to Windstar.

^Sure do. Also remember how quickly, safely and efficiently they got everyone off the ship. It also got hit farther away and the captain brought it to the sand bar so it wouldn't sink like the Concordia!

It was one of the reasons we chose to do the Monarch last Fall as a comparison to our Klassy Kruise. It was the same kind of ship, had had a big accident (like the Ecstasy), was cheaper, shorter, and went to the same ports. Monarch blew Carnival crap away!

My first cruise was on the Monarch of the Seas back in Spring 2009. I was totally blown away when I later learned that it was one of Royal's smallest ships (if not the smallest, I can't remember). My family and I had a WONDERFUL time on it! Granted, every single basketball and ping pong ball went overboard by day 3, I loved every single minute of it.

My mom plans to take me on the Norwegian Breakaway this August. I'm not sure if it's totally "set" that we will go, but crossing my fingers for it!
