U2Rox
I've been thinking about you Roxanne, when I read it in the newspapers. But good for you, you're still going to do the trip. And I hope, you will have the chance to do the concerts afterwards. Hey Benny!! Thanks for the thoughts buddy!! It was a depressing weekend, but things are better now. Apparently Edge says "keep your tickets, were coming back" So I do hope it works out where I get to see the band. Only time will tell with Bono's recovery process. ^Thanks for the tips on the Wild Mouse. I'll have to strategically hit up at Dorney! ^^Thanks Matt!! It does help! every bit of info is really helping me to plan and prepare for this trip!! Phoenix is at the top of my list!! ^^^ Didn't remember about the Flyers Jim, Thanks!! I am going to try to spend at least a day and a half at Hershey!! Almost time for this to happen. How about best eats at the parks or cities. Any food I should absolutely try?? Showing Coaster Expedition Vol13 in the classroom!! I'm really getting excited to go!!
HPCrazy
At Hershey, definitely do Minetown Restaurant, located back near the Coal Cracker flume and Great Bear. They have sandwiches, wraps, pizza, burgers, salads and the like in there. Plus it's air-conditioned! My friend and I always hit that place for lunch and then do Subway over by Sidewinder/Storm Runner for dinner. Don't forget to take advantage of the free ice water at the food stalls. We did it last year and will again this Sunday when we're there, since it's supposed to be really hot again. I also know there are other food places near HP like Red Robin, Applebee's, Bob Evans, McDonald's, Wendy's, Pizza Hut, etc if you're looking to slip out or grab breakfast somewhere (well some of those places don't serve breakfast lol). That's my two-cents for Hershey. I don't know about the other places like Knoebels and Dorney Park. I've been to them both at least once or twice but really didn't pay attention on t hat stuff as much. Hope I was of some help!
Jim S.
At Knoebels, the Mexican section of the International Food Court is one of the better size vs. price deals, particularly the Three Amigos Platter. Another place to check out is The Wharf. They're the only place in the park to get a gyro, and the only place in the park to get real iced tea. But they also have some great deals on good food, for example the Spud Platter (a pile of waffle fries with cheese and chili), Fancy Fries (waffle fries with cheese, bacon, and ranch dressing), and the D&D Pita (cheesesteak between two full-size slabs of pita bread, like a cheesesteak pie!) They also have a full-service restaurant called The Alamo. Everybody says good things about it, but for some reason I've never eaten there yet. HPCrazy
I've eaten at the Alamo before. Good stuff. Their spaghetti was good if you crave Italian food.
Jim S.
At Dorney, I'd AVOID the Game Day Grille unless you really need a cool place to sit down to eat, or a beer. The service has been horribly slow every time I've been there, and the food only average. At least it's hot though... I've only eaten at Coaster's, the drive-in-themed restaurant, once, and I found the food almost cold. I usually try to eat before and after visiting the park, and if I'm hungry while I'm there, I get a few tacos from the stand downhill from Hydra. They're amazingly cheap (thus the recommendation to get a few), and quite good (the last time I was there anyway.) (Hopefully this stand hasn't been knocked down to make room for Demon Drop.) At Hershey, if you're not looking for an indoor restaurant, there's a very nice food court hidden behind the cobra roll of the boomerang. (I say hidden because Hershey's paths are confusing as hell, and the map has serious scale and perspective issues so it's not always a help.) I've also heard nothing but good things about Freeman's Texas Barbecue, but for some reason I've never stopped there.
larrygator
Freeman's BBQ at Hershey has awesome food. Knoebels - my favorite treats are the fried pierogies and the Cheese on a Stick (cheese in corn bread batter and deep fried). I've also heard nothing but good things about Freeman's Texas Barbecue, but for some reason I've never stopped there. They have a variety of different places in that food court. My friend and I usually hit Subway over there for dinner. I've heard the same about Freeman's as well. It always smells so good when we walk down through there. I think the thing that has kept us from trying out that place is that the prices are a little too steep. I've heard others mention that as well but evidentally, it doesn't stop them from going over there to eat.

Wendy's has different sandwich and coffee for breakfast. However, McDonalds has an irresistible eggs, savory sausage, flaky biscuit and Hot cakes. If that food is enough for you for breakfast. All your efforts have been appreciated!!! Tomorrow I'll be catching a train and bus to NYC!! Definitely going to hit up Coney Island and Great Adventure. And I'm still planning on SF America, Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens!!! With my trip ending in Baltimore!!! I do plan on getting to these parks and since U2 seems to be playing next summer there's still a chance for me to get to them. Thanks again Everyone!! Happy Riding for summer of 2010!!!
