Meteornotes
Stella rules. And oddly enough, Mary and I each had a glass yesterday. dt
PhishyBrewer
^In my opinion, Stella is WAY over rated. I love my wife! Got this great little package from Ohio the other day. I brought home some babies this morning from BevMo.
PhishyBrewer
I love the 10th Anniversary IPA so much, I have added it to my top 3. #1 Great Lake's Dortmunder Gold #2 Stone's 10th Anniversary IPA #3 Kona's Longboard Lager I feel all warm and fuzzy!!! Meteornotes
^In my opinion, Stella is WAY over rated. I will freely admit that I know nothing about beer, especially compared to the rest of you. But I do enjoy the taste of Stella, so I drink it. I also like Guinness. There are two tastes that really don't go together... dt

I, for one, don't care for any of the Great Lakes stuff, so I don't get Wally's infactuation with it. I'm sure there are people that don't like Fat Tire (just plain silly). saturday97
Yeah, I think taste in beer is really personal. I have a friend who is usually a "beer snob" (I mean that in an endearing way), but she recently went on a tour of the Coors brewery in CO and has now decided that Coors Light is her favorite beer. She said they explained to her that smaller microbreweries were dirty and that they could not control for quality, etc. Whatever, but I'm still not drinking Coors Light!!! Also, I was at a conference in Boston and one of my colleages went to get a beer from the open bar and came back with a Bud Light. I asked why he didn't get a Sam Adams (since it was free and we were in Boston, after all). He said Sam Adams had "too much flavor." D'Oh!!! niiicolaaah
This weekend was Adam and Ellen's wedding. At the reception I had "a few drinks". lol. Here I am showing off my favorite, an Amaretto sour. I'm pretty sure Heath has a Guiness and Kim has a Sam Adams, but I know nothing about beer, so I could be completely wrong! This was our attempt at a Derek-style photo, taken by Heath
DerekRx
If you're wondering where I have been all weekend, I didn't die, I was at friend and fellow BACT and Beer Thread member, Adam's wedding to Ellen. First, the rehearsal dinner on Friday night: I end with another #9, and as soon as the glass arrived, I had to go pick up some hotties at the airport. Adam's sister is still too young to drink, but soon enough she'll be all over the beer thread Tim gears up for some pre-Oktoberfest fun Even Leann can't resist the power of the Hoe They used to have Chimay on tap instead! WHAT?! says Tom Followed by Hoegaarten! This time Magic Hat #9 on tap for all! Finally, at the rehearsal dinner (also at the hotel) Adam and Ellen enjoy their last moments of single life...together First, at the hotel bar I was in need of a beverage after driving thru Connecticut traffic (even though it was only like 8 miles in CT). Sam Adams Summer Octoberfest I guess (the tap said Summer Ale, but the taste was very Octoberfest)
DerekRx
Onto Saturday, the wedding day...with 5 hours of open bar! And we end the reception with some espresso...with Sambuca! Switching it up, Nicole has a vodka and cranberry next Too much alcohol makes us demons You know you're at a cool party when Al Dukes of O&A and Ron & Fez fame comes Even the groom had some time for drinking This hot little number (taken, sorry boys!) enjoyed her amaretto sours something fierce! It tasted like old books you keep in the attic or basement I decided to pretend to be classy and drink some red wine But I'll wash it down with some Bass I'm not sure what it tastes like I was told it tastes like spinach I'm going to eat this orchid Kim comes up for air Enough to do some making out! I wonder how much Heath had so far? and some Bass for me Out to mingle, more beer for Tom Tom couldn't decide, so he had one of everything They had a really nice quality selection on tap At the reception, I enjoy a Sam Adams in the Bridal Suite Tim and I enjoy our champagne as we go ridin' thru the ghettos of Stamford "Its not beer, but its alcohol!" After the ceremony, the best man popped the bubbly While we were sleeping, XZibit pimped my ride!
DerekRx
But the party didn't stop there! Next was the unofficial BACT Attack on the hotel bar! and after getting out of her dress, Ellen and Adam come down for one final drink with their friends before shoving out for Walt Disney World Even Walt, Todd, and Krista join us The regulars kick back a few Sammy's too A Sam October for me, with a little bit of Nicole on top
DerekRx
After driving thru Connecticut and NYC traffic, by the time I got home I was ready for another new brew. But when it warmed up a bit, it was really tasty! I wasn't sure about the taste at first, seemed too much alcohol Davidson Brothers IPA with a shout out to Heath and JimmyBo
Guest
This stuff is "pale"? Not bad, but I much prefer a Corona w/lime... I'm a wimpy beer drinkin' kinda girl.
Rugged One
Nicole, that pic did turn out pretty good didn't it? Wally, what's up with all the bottles of Stone IPA man? I thought you were retiring form beer. Don't tell me that your trip to Stone rekindled your love for the good stuff. Over Labor Day weekend, I stopped into a 7-11 in Carlsbad and not only did they have 22 bombers of Stone 10th IPA but bombers of Fat Tire as well. IN THE FREAKING 7-11! Needless to say Kim is working on her job transfer now.

mcjaco
Again, congrats to Adam! Poor bastard..... Here's what I was up to last week while the wife was out of town.....I've just about finished off my Sam Adam's Brewmaster collection. Is anyone else getting little red x's for my pics? They were all up last night... I passed out shortly after this picture, from pure New Belgium happiness!!!
DerekRx
^More like poor Ellen! Its never too late to start drinking for the night! Tonight's selection was from Terrapin Brewing in Athens, GA I wasn't expecting much because its a pilsner, but it really surprised me. A nice mixture of hops, sweetness like a Belgian, and a decent finish. This was some good stuff! Definitely something I'll look into getting the next time I'm in Georgia (or Frederick, MD) Thanks, Heath! Terrapin's All American Imperial Pilsner, good stuff! Don't tell me that your trip to Stone rekindled your love for the good stuff. I can't quit beer man. I'm mainly watching what I eat and trying to exercise everyday to cut the weight to reduce the strain in my back. My beer intake has dropped dramatically though. I can't quit you... I mean beer. 4718
Had a Moosehead, Dos Equis, and Michelob after work today, only one I kinda liked was the Michelob.....the others were just not right. Oh, and it'll be a while before ANYONE in this town gets some Pumpkinhead, the distributor won't have it out here for at least another week. I'll be frequenting BevMo and Whole Foods and Trader Joe's to see if they have it yet though!

memphish
I've got a 6 pack of Pumpkin head sitting in my kitchen. Along with some Hop Devil, Mad Hatter, and Elliot Ness.
