Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (BGT Discussion Thread)

P. 358: Two new slides & more announced for Adventure Island!

Recommended Posts

It's done!

I think it looks awesome, yet a little bit weird, as I excepted the crown to be a lot wider than the tower.

Now a few weeks of electrical installation will follow, and then they will assemble the ride vehicle and then we will see some testing.

What someone has previously said, it will enter a pre-brake to rotate the seats and then fully brake the ride. It looks like the brakes rise up pretty high. Is that saying that you will only be faced down falling for like 1 second, rotate for like a second, and then slow? Even though it is massive, it seems that the ride will be relatively quick and short as compared to the sit-down drop towers. It will be interesting to see how this will operate, I don't know about this one haha.

^I think they could have made the seats like on B&M flyers and having them facing down all the way. If riders can easily take the G-forces on a flying coaster, they should be able to endure the braking on this ride, right?

^Flying coasters don't decelerate you directly against gravity facing the ground.

I'm curious as to whether the 'pre-brake' everyone keeps mentioning (and that is clearly on the tower) is actually a brake or if it's just a control to flip the seats. I'm definitely hoping for the latter - the seat-flip is awesome and all, but if the thing only really drops for 50 feet that's certainly a let-down.
