Old Logo > New Logo

I agree with Wes. It does look like clip art for a powerpoint project. But as long as the company's happy with it, I guess that's all that matters. There was something magical and exciting about the old logo... I won't ever find that in this new logo. Oh well. Times change, and things change.

I bet you could find a lot people at the company who aren't happy with it.

True. I'm sure the new logo disappoints some of the employees there, but they changed it for a reason... whatever that reason may be...

I'm all for change, as long as it's a change for the better. Some of the changes that the Boardwalk has made over the years were for the better, while some were made with good intentions, but need improvement (like the Cave Train and Haunted Castle). This logo change was with with good intentions, but I think they should've got the public's opinion first... Being that the Boardwalk logo is a pretty big deal.

^I'll be there as well! Should be a nice Saturday off for me (I'm off work every other saturday, this one's my day off...not to mention, I hear the weather's supposed to be decent). First up though we'll be getting some Gold Porn before heading over the hill if you want to say. Agreed though, kicking off my 2013 riding Giant Dipper as my first coaster is not a bad idea at all! I hope to ride it more this season too along with Undertow!

^ When I was there last weekend I didn't notice the new logo any where. I was expecting the Giant Dipper to have it on the front of the train but the old one was still on it.

I don't see that happening. In fact, I've never heard of a company doing that, ever. Maybe I just dont know of any.

I'll see how it looks on saturday when i'm out there with the group.

I'll be checking out the 'walk the same day, and if you don't mind I'd be down to join you guys for the adventure! I am in need of some good wood right now.

You're more than welcome to join us BFG, the more the merrier.

Greetings!

After checking out Gold Striker's construction yesterday, the group decided to head over the hill and visit SCBB since they technically operate year round (and we needed some wood to ride). We had 9 rides running, pretty much what Robman showed last week which was plenty to keep us busy! This was also my first time shooting in RAW with the DSLR, as well as toying with a polarizing filter I picked up. So if anyone wants to critique my work, feel free! (I won't storm off over any negatives anyone points out, will only help me in the future, want to improve my technique )

Riding Haunted Castle, Blue Fire Guy makes an attempt to do the "Piers rides the Ghost Train Drunk" classic TPR video...funny stuff!

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THE YOUNGER SET, STRONG LANGUAGE!

Pacman Smash fun:

Highlights:

-Strange seeing no Hurricane, was my first time at the 'Walk since Hurricane was taken out.

-Very little to no lines

-Pacman Smash! (Air Hockey on crack)

-Overall just fun day with the group!

Disclaimer: Some of these photos are not for the squeamish! You have been warned!

In the mean time, this was probably the only photo I could get of what is sitting on the pad. I have a photo of it mentally, but I can't quite hook myself up to a computer and upload it :)

Basically, there's a bunch of rusty/dirty I-beams sitting up on the deck. Not sure if they're left over from Hurricane or if they will be for UT.

IMG_2999.thumb.jpg.c276274de877efcb0b89c41d5786f18c.jpg

I'll end the update with what consumed a little extra time of our evening...Pacman Smash! This innocent Air Hockey game will leave you and 3 other friends scrambling to hit the 30 or so mini pucks! I have video of it, will add it to report when it's uploaded.

Awesome TR! That day was really a lot of fun, and a great first park (and coaster) to kick off 2013 with, and impersonating Drunk Piers in NHAC was quite the highlight! And so was good ol' Giant Dipper and its butt-slappin' airtime. That funky sideways laterals + airtime combo after the 2nd turnaround had me partially sitting on the seat divider for a split second!

That's awesome, I wish it would stay open through the summer, it would be nice to ride both the zipline and Undertow during the same visit

Glad to hear you're able to get these press releases sent to you without you having to brown-nose the park management.

The zipline sounds really cool! I need to get down there and try it out, been wanting to try out a zipline for awhile now.

Same here, I've always wondered what it's like to fly down a zipline, knowing me I'd probably white-knuckle it the first time haha

Nice! Ziplines are fairly cool, but are mostly about your surroundings. The Boardwalk is an awesome surrounding to have for one, that's for sure. I did the one on Fremont Street a couple years ago, the ride was just OK, but the views were awesome.
