I will do my best to create a good idea. But I have a question, are you planning on printing the membership-cards in one go (I would do that) and add the names and numbers later. If so do you intend to print them on or punch them out? I like to know because this could affect the design and the user friendliness of the design.

We are planning on adding the text information to the image and then printing them out all at once.

I tried to theme mine around an actual credit card

It would have been nice if you would have also tried to follow the instructions on the first page. Can you try again after maybe READING the directions? For example....

- You must use gadzoox.tff (attached below) for the TPR Logo and the colors must match the same style of the site.

Some feedback so far...

Robin's and J. Marcase are the closest to what we are looking for so far.

lightguy84 - You didn't follow direction and there membership card has too much going on.

MG - Nice logo. See if you can expand on it a bit.

AlmereStars - Your logo hits the "professional" and "fun" mark. Very nice. Although it kind of reads more like "TPR Club" and not "Club TPR." I like the ones on yellow or white better with the outlines on TPR.

vuurvogel - I appreciate the creativity, but it's just way too abstract for anything we'd actually use.

Also, look at some of our most recent DVD covers, T-Shirt Designs, and the TPR logo in recent videos we've been posting to get an idea of fonts and other design elements we like.

So far I think AlmereStars is the closest on an actual logo and Robin & J. Marcase are close on an actual membership card.

And here are some first idea's. Please comment them

Ctlupurb? Haha, I know what it's supposed to read...just be really careful with hierarchy of your text. Otherwise you can get some really bizarre reads.

Robb, quick question that might be an idea.

Have you thought about putting the web address on the back of the card, or is that cost prohibitive?

It's kind of like the fine print on the back of credit cards.

Anyway, just a thought.

^We are looking into the possibility of printing on the back of the cards as well. Either some basic information of what the card is good for or more info about the member, etc.

Here is my feedback so far:

Robin - Hurts my eyes, but at least shows the actual card. We like Gadzoox and our colors but it's just too much.

J. Marcase - Like the Logo and simplicity but don't like the background image.

Light Guy - A little too busy and no Gadzoox font in the logo.

MG - A little too Army tag.

AlmereStars - Like the logo a lot, black or yellow. Perhaps move the Club to the left side so that it reads 'Club TPR' instead of 'TPR Club'.

vuurvogel - Too weird.

I'll just offer a little bit of advice - don't overthink it. TPR: the style, the color, the spacing, and even the size is a brand. It's an image that Rob and Ellissa have used to create immediate recognition upon viewing it. If you change that, you're going to have to totally rebuild the brand recognition - might take years. That's why established companies rarely change their logo if they're doing alright. If their brand and the reputation under that brand are faltering, then they take the initiative to change their look. TPR is in no such trouble.

Keep it simple.

Yes. We want it on the front of the card. Since www.themeparkreview.com is how everyone accesses Theme Park Review. The URL is equally (and arguably more) important than the name of the website itself.

Actually it is the same logo, with different background colours just so you could see how it looks like on that background. What I could do is making the outlines ont TPR white, when using a dark background

I'll try that

Heres a first look at the card. I used your name Robb, if you don't mind Don't really like using "Name here" or something.

The type of membership (single or family) could be in different colours. With Family Yellow and Single green or something like that

I really like you're membership card idea but you should post the same image but with Elissa recommendation so it can read more like "Club TPR"

More comments:

- I'm actually not opposed to the European style dates. Although we probably will go with something like: Expires 25 December 2011 because that's a bit more acceptable in more territories.

- AlmereStars - Good first attempt at the card. I like everything to the right of the logos, etc, but everything to the left of the white line feels a bit cramped.

- DKR - Also good first attempt but I'm not a fan of the logo at all. First off it's "Club TPR" not "Theme Park Review Club." I like the sideways URL to the right. That's cool.

A few other things I'd like to point out -

- I'm not opposed to having some "grayed out" images of rides, but I want everyone to remember that "Theme Park Review" is not a "Roller Coaster Club" we are more about Theme Parks in general. And while roller coasters are a HUGE part of the site, I want to make sure everyone is aware that sometimes using a bunch of roller coasters as images is sometimes not representative of the site as a whole.

- I'm a fan of the "less is more" mentality. Look at our most recent logo above compared to the old on before. I'd much rather have something look "clean" and "professional" rather than busy. If you can retain "clean", "professional" and "fun" - THAT is "TPR"

So far AlmereStars is now the closest, but to be honest, still not quite something we'd go with...but close!

Finally someone who understands me

No seriously, I think I know which direction you want to go.

I have to tweak it a bit to make sure it prints oke

but I think I am going this way

Sorry I posted when you posted this. I will take it in account with my next tweak

This is by no means an entry, but after looking at Almerestars post this variation of his layout was more appealing to me and takes up more area of the card while still looking clean. Also I would have taken the "yellow club stamp and just posted it directly above tpr parallel yet microsoft paint doesn't let you rotate like that. Anyways, hope you don't mind I messed with your image.

First off, I LOVE this idea and think it's super cool that members can get involved in this process.

I just wanted to throw in my two cents-- hope that's okay! As someone who has to check Coaster Club cards at events every so often, I know park staff would be ever so thankful if the expiration date was clear and prominent. When you have a line of enthusiasts waiting to get into an event, it's nice not to have to play "Where's Waldo" for the date.

On a side note, a lot of people try to "casually" use their thumb to cover up their expired dates on a card. So if the font's not uber tiny, it helps avoid this issue. That, or you could just put a huge bullseye with the date in the middle. Yeah, I like that idea .

Looking good so far, can't wait to see what's to come!

I tried to stay as true to the site as possible - made very few changes to TPR's brand. Touched up the rough cuts of Gadzooks a bit and added just a tiny bit of gradient to help give the logo some depth. Kept the colors of the logo as true to the original as possible. For club, I found that the T naturally has a nice cradle to it - so I used a font called Carlisle to continue the playful motif and set the letters to rest inside the T's space.

I had more trouble with the card than I did the logo. Working all three of the TPR colors in the design provided a unique challenge. But I think I have a pretty convincing card.

I hope I've conveyed the spirit of this site in these designs.

I'm also on board with almestar's, the modified version looks good too. The only modification that I'd personally wanna see made to it is moving the gray box to the left so that there isn't that little strip of background in between the box and the card.

Edit: ^Okay, that one's really cool.
