Skycoastin Steve
One of the great things about working year-round at a seasonal park is the ability to come in and take some exclusive photos of the coasters without having to worry about your head getting pancaked by a 5-ton train full of riders. A couple of times this year I've taken the time to climb all over Rampage and Zoomerang to get tons of perspectives that very few people ever get of either ride, and it wouldn't feel right to not share some of the highlights with my coaster enthusiast pals on TPR. So enjoy! Disclaimer: I just have a regular point and shoot camera, so some of the color and clarity quality displayed by other talented TPR photographers won't be present in this post, BUT I still think they look great. However, you can all be the judge of that! Nerd shot #5, and the ultimate nerd shot, Rampage's wheel assembly!! Noooo, the sun is inside of Rampage, it's going to burn down!!! Look closely and you can see the ferris wheel in the background. Sun's going down now. SPACE SHOT IS INSIDE OF ZOOMERANG!!!! COASTER PORN!!!!!!!! Loop and the blue, blue sky. Looking up the first lift. Slightly different perspective of the same look. Inside the track, looking at the looooooop! Mmmmmm more curves. Curvy. Skycoastin Steve likes to sit on boomerang catwalks and take in the fresh air. Another of my favorite pictures of the bunch. Another silhouette. On the catwalk, yeahhhhh the catwalk.....cause I'm, too sexy for this coaster. Half of the boomerang. Silhouette. Zoomerang! Another perspective on the same. Staring down the final drop and turn before the brakes. OMFGZZZZZ INVERTED WOODIE!!!!!! Looking at the first drop from the track it flies under. If you look closely you can see the pothole. Yes, THE pothole to end all potholes! Going down the "3rd" hill or what I like to call the "pothole" hill. TPR members who were on the Deep South Trip know all too well about this hill. Exiting the first turn-around.... Another shot of some supports from above that I think looks really cool. Looking back at the entrance to the first turn-around. Crest of the 2nd hill, site of some serious airtime. Rampage and Zoomerang. Nerd shot #4, under the upstop track! The beautiful structure. Ooooh, an artsy, focused/blurry take on the first drop. Another tilted picture of the bottom of the first drop. First drop again! Rays of sunshine shining down on Rampage, or is that God? A closer view of the first drop. While it doesn't look that steep from up top, trying to walk up that thing is REALLY hard. Nerd shot #2, the other sprocket at the bottom! Standing inside the track now. Ok so the track really doesn't bank this much, I just tilted the camera to give it that Nascar feel. In reality they barely banked that turn at all, insane! Looking back up the first drop. Part 2. Looking down through the supports at the track below. Looking down the lift. Nerd shot #1, sprocket at the top of the chain lift. No thanks, not walking down that, but I'll ride down it! Crest of the first hill 120 feet up! Support structure of the lift from up top, very cool. The layout from on top of the lift. Crossover goodness. Rampage's chain, one of my favorite pictures. Moose
Thank you so much for sharing these. There are some amazing shots in the bunch. I think your two favorites are my favorites as well.
Brandy524
That's awesome that you get to climb all over the coasters and get great pictures! Nice job!
CorkscrewFoley
Steve-o! These were some great pics, and I love the shots of Zoomerang (and of course Rampage). I do love the inverted woodie.
Skycoastin Steve
That's awesome that you get to climb all over the coasters and get great pictures! Nice job! Yeah it's a lot of fun climbing them, but you don't realize just how out of shape you are until you do.
CreditCrazy
Very cool to see! Thanks for posting. I think you've officially made sure that everyone on TPR needs to ride Rampage now.
Skycoastin Steve
^That's the idea! A 20-year-old used Boomerang isn't going to get people to AA!
TheRapidsNerd
Thanks for putting up a cool perspective on this park. Enjoyed it! Still can't get over the Alabama and Auburn rapids boats. Very clever.
PKI Jizzman
Wow, thanks for sharing these pics! I really wish Kings Island would let me take my D40 and get some in depth shots like these...but then again I've never really asked too. Great stuff! -Zach
ebl
I would pay to be able to climb all over a coaster. Thanks for some great shots. Eric
atem122
Those are some really great pictures. If you look to the lower middle left in the first picture, the supports spell out "Vinie." It's a sign.
Devious
Absolutely amazing Pictures Rampage is STILL my #1 woodie in the world, It'll beat you up, but it's just out of control airtime filled fun

Skycoastin Steve
^I have an up-close picture of it, but I'm not going to post it here. While I'm sure all wooden coasters experience potholes occasionally (even Voyage had a pretty nasty one this year), they look kinda scary up close so I don't want anyone to know what they REALLY look like. I want to see this, it honestly cant be worse than the broken wood in places and the piece of twisted steel given away as a trivia prize on Deep south PM it
Speeddeamon128
Great pics. Your coasters look like their in good shape, much better than HellCat. Rampage looks like fun & my old (I no longer work at Clementon) managers visited Alabama & loved Alabama Adventure. I've climbed HellCat once when it got stuck on the lift & my legs started to hurt half way up (I'm not in shape) I agree though it is cool being able to walk on a coaster. downunder
Very nice photos, Rampage made #11 on my wood ballot , great coaster. Those potholes gave me more than a few shots on the epic TPR ERT session, I'd love to see what the potholes actually look like as well if you ever change your mind about the photo. I feel a little ashamed that I have ridden Zoomerang in all three locations it has been at, though it was more by accident than design.

Yeah I remember the Clementon people visiting us during the year. I didn't really interact with them at all, but from what I heard their experience was positive. I was up at SFGAd at the beginning of September this year and wanted to make a pit stop at Clementon, but it was a weekday and at that point it was only open weekends. Maybe another year! Pirouettes907
Awesome pictures and awesome idea to post them! The ones with the sun setting are some of my favorites, although now I'm really curious about these pothole pictures since I'd never heard of that happening on a coaster. You've now succeeded in making me want to ride Rampage (and even Zoomerang) and really making me wish I had a job that came with the privilege of climbing all over coasters. Looking forward to more of these (since I take it, from the thread title, this might be ongoing?). ~Megan

CorkscrewFoley
I would pay to be able to climb all over a coaster. Thanks for some great shots. Eric I second that. Would be a nice little bonus to any TPR trip...not that they're not filled with surprises (don't want to insult anyone).
