pianojohn
Check it out! Also found one from 1978 and a King's Island one from 1979. Check out all the defunct attractions! EDIT Here are the few different ones from the 1978 brochure with Gemini on the cover. Gemini 1978. Notice no Magnum, Raptor, MF, TTD The cover for the 1978 version. Check out that line for Gemini!! CorkscrewFoley
I had a later brochure, and seeing alot of these older photos bring back a flood of memories. My God, this park was so beautiful--what the hell happened? Thanks for posting the pics too, I do love 'em.
raptor6
That was really interesting. My earliest memory of Cedar Point happened in 1994, so it would have been cool if I could have checked out the park in the late 1970sa. I missed out on a lot of rides like the Jumbo Jet, the Pirate Ride, Mill Race, and even the old second cable cars. It sure has changed since that brochure came out. Thanks for spending your time posting all the pages of the brochure! Will you also be posting the Kings Island one as well? I'm curious to see how the park described the Beast. Philrad71
Thanks again for sharing, John! I bought my partner a book on the history of Cedar Point for his birthday - it has a lot of similar photos, plus the really old coasters and park layout. The Cyclone on the beach looked insane!!! And did you know about the Chinese drug den walk-through attraction? I noticed that it looks like Leap The Dips II is really going for a similar look to the original layout with the waterfalls in the middle of the drops and such. I think it is great that they are resurrecting a classic...still wish they could build a Cyclone coaster on the beach someday and bring back the Frontier Lift...and of course, the Hofbrau!! slither37
Thanks, this was very cool. Oh how I miss the days when CP was 'An educational wonderland..." I wish the sky ride still went all the way back to where it used to go.
