traincrossin
Very nice video Griffin! Anyone else think that the "no no zone" would make a decent maze during Fright Fest?
Mr. Starr
Very nice video Griffin! Anyone else think that the "no no zone" would make a decent maze during Fright Fest? If only they enclosed it, and themed it to claustrophobia!
Jojo19799
Anyone else think that the "no no zone" would make a decent maze during Fright Fest? I often wonder the same thing. It might work, but it would be a small maze. Then again they did make a maze around the rock climbing wall by Demon.

traincrossin
Great pictures as always Griffin. I wonder if namtaB will receive a new coat of paint like all of the other Batman's in the chain. As for your Club TPR shirt, I wouldn't be surprised if there were swarms of girls hiding behind the camera, especially with that manly pose I still need to join Club TPR. I'm sure it's only a matter of time. I hope they do! They also need to do some landscape work under BTR and Mr. Freeze.
Mr. Starr
It'd be nice to see this park get more attention since the addition of Evel. I was last there in '07, and missed EK by weeks. The sad thing is, I have a lot of family down there and it's not a long drive from ChiTown, but I haven't been there in 3 years! Nice pictures, and I kind of like Batman with the faded color, makes it seem more, "Gotham", if you know what I mean.

DOCTOR DOOM!!!
Does anyone think this park will be crowded on Sunday 4-18?!
GriffyTiffy
So I have a question relating to the picture below. If you are familiar with the matter, please help me out! I work at Elitch Gardens and spent the last year operating out Intamin drop tower, The Tower of Doom. Unlike this tower, we only have three "tracks", or more specifically, cars. Obviously this one has many more trains than the one familiar to me, though I have to believe their operating systems are similar, if not identical. When I look at the picture above, I notice that there is a car at the top of the tower as well as three of the catch cars descending to pick other cars up. Now again back to what I know, the catch cars always descended in unison and the cars were all dropped in Unison. So my question is, what is going on in this picture? I have a hard time believing that they park the catch cars and actual cars on the top of the tower, as it is possible to park the catch cars at the top and the cars at the bottom. Further, why are all the catch cars descending at different times (I say that due to the differences in elevation in relation to the bottom/top of the tower). I'm confused, can you help? Jordan "Loved operating my drop tower" Darrington Well, I don't know very much about it, but I'll tell you the things I saw. The one car that is at the top was taken out of operation earlier in the day. During operation, the cars would all go up the tower at the same time. When the got to the top, they would wait about 5-10 seconds. They were all released at different times to go back down. Once they all got to the bottom of the tower, loading/unloading would then begin. Hope this helped!

traincrossin
^Usually drop tower cars are parked at the top when they're not in use to protect the cables which are on the inside of the tower.I know here at SFGAm they keep the cars at the top during the winter. And as for them all dropping at random times, I guess that's just its ride cycle. I mean they all drop within a couple seconds of each other and I doubt they open the restraints unless all of the cars are at the bottom. I actually kinda like the random drop times, it's kinda like Russian roulette and makes people even more apprehensive.

Jordan "Loved operating my drop tower" Darrington Apocalypse at Drayton Manor can send up cars whenever they are ready to go, they tend to send up the 2 sit down cars together and the 2 stand up sides together with the floorless side, must be something in the system allowing them to do this, although I have always seen them park the catch car at the top with the car at the bottom when one side is out of service. Good Photo TR!
