larrygator
Where do either of you see seatbelts? Maybe my eyes are just bad because I'm old. There are two shoulder belts per seat in between the red lap restraint and the top of the seat back. They look like black backpack straps, similar to those found on that Shock Therapy suspended looping coaster in Australia. Yes, I saw the shoulder strap and I saw the belt to secure the lap bar. But I don't see a seat belt. Maybe I'm just old school, but a seat belt goes across your lap.
_koppen
That car looks great!
gerstlaueringvar
Hopefully the belts don't tighten as the ride goes. The plastic seats still look very painful. Any test videos coming?
coasterschile
yeah, plastic seats seem painful. But I would ride it first before judging them. But everyone has to recognize something, those cars are beautifully unique!
rcjp
^They do. I just noticed how the back rows are taller, like on some intamin rides.
linearinduction
^ Stadium Seating is pretty standard now days. I had concerns that the Zamperla Air Race Swats would be uncomfortable, but found them to be extremely comfortable, but add any Vibrations from a coaster and it could be a whole other matter all together. dbucknyc
Thunderbolt's Maiden Voyage Testing the roll back on the lift hill and then the first run.
thrillseeker4552
^I'm not gonna lie, that looks like a really good ride! The airtime hills on the way back look strong, and that turnaround is very unique. Maybe I'll be able to visit Coney Island someday.
GayCoasterGuy
I bet it's gonna break in nicely. I wonder if Debbie is gonna ride
glucky11801
Go Debbie!!! I agree- Thunderbolt looks really great! Far better than I thought it would. Seems to have some unique elements as well. I'll be riding it soon!
GayCoasterGuy
Anyone know how many trains it will have? I would think 3 is a good amount if they want to keep the line moving.
lockheart
Looks great! As I expected, the 2 minutes duration was off, it barely kicked 1 minute. Regardless, a very good minute ride. So excited to see this open tomorrow. Bet the line will be long (if it won't rain)
DoinItForTheFame
Oh... My... The airtime on those return hills are AMAZING!!!! I can not wait to try this ride out!!! I also love how on the lift hill... if it E-Stops then train slowly returns to the bottom of the lift!! Takes away the need for an Evac on the lift!! That's awesome planning!!! coastercoaster5
This seems SWEET!!!
neil009
I don't mean to jinx anything but it almost looks like they'll have to trim it somewhere... the speed over those airtime hills, especially the second slightly shorter one, is insane. Is the testing all finished at this point?
KingRCT3
Wow, the speed is just about PERFECT. Nice and aerial in the first part ; totally darn fast in the second. if it E-Stops then train slowly returns to the bottom of the lift!! Takes away the need for an Evac on the lift!! That's awesome planning!!! It's an awesome feature indeed, but you have to give Caesar his due: Gerstlauer came with it first on Smiler.
coasterbill
Even though I live about an hour and a half away I haven't paid much attention to this ride because of the manufcaturer and the park that's building it but I have to admit this ride looks great and after watching that video we'll definitely be making our way out there to ride it this summer. boldikus
Looks great! Seems to go through the loop really slow, should make for some good hangtime. On the flip it seems to haul ass through the back half of the course - especially over the airtime humps. Can't wait to ride this!
PhantomNick
Gotta say that this thing looks pretty freaking sweet! As others have mentioned, the speed this thing travels through the second half with (and over the bunny hills) looks awesome!! We've yet to visit Coney Island/Luna Park, and we're pretty big NYC fans, so a visit may have to be in our future!
neil009
I imagine this thing is going to make me about $80 poorer.
Geauga Dog
I'm quite impressed with how this ride turned out. Looks like floaty air time in the loop and zer-G and some good air time on the hills back to the station. Glad to see Zamperla build a bigger coaster compared to what their catalog offers at the moment.
sspaz1000
Hmm, looks pretty awesome. Need to get up there this summer.
rcjp
Those airtime hills look pretty wicked. And thinking this can go faster as this was only the first run
DJeXeL
The ride vehicle navigates the airtime hills with a good amount of speed. Looks like Zamperla has a potential winner on their hands.
rcdude
Thunderbolt definitely looks like it could be a surprise hit. I'm looking forward to trying it when I visit New York in August. Shame it's $10 per ride, but at least it looks like it'll be worth $10.
