Nrthwnd
Mmm when this gets finished and opened, it will make up an awesome trio of Asia Disney parks and resorts... for (most of) part of a TPR Tour... Papa (TDLR); Mama (SDLR); and Baby (HKDLR) Disneyland.
Nrthwnd
Am bumping this, cause it's been a few months now... Any word (esp.photos) of anything going on currently, with construction of the park/resort? EDIT to add this V Rumored "proposed" circuit layout for the TRON-CycleCoaster. Green is the launch. Double lines are the load and unload. And I think the red arrows are just there, to help you figure the route out, without getting lost, LOL. coasterfreak101
I definitely would hope it's a little longer than that!
Nrthwnd
^ Me too, honestly. But like I said, rumored - proposed. And Tomorrow Land is still on the Left Side!
robbalvey
I've heard that the ride is going to be fairly short.
Nrthwnd
^ And if it does turn out to be fairly short, Disney will plus up the entire queueing area (and probable exit into The Gift Shop, lol) in the attraction building. And it will be as much an experience as the ride itself.
coasterfreak101
^True, true! As disappointing as a short ride time could be, Disney always has a way to extend the experience much farther than just the coaster itself.
cfc
My guess is this ride will depend a lot on theming and effects, like many Disney coasters. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
COASTER FREAK 11
Who knows, maybe there is a show scene on the break run too. The coaster looks short, but I don't think the "Attraction experience" will be all that short.
gisco
I wonder how many people who think it is too short will actually have the opportunity to go to China to ride it?

jray21
^^Very true! I'm sure that even if it's super short, it'll still be better than a lot of other shorter coasters!
Nrthwnd
Vertical construction has begun! All building of the foundation has finished. DisneyAndMore just put up some photos of the first steel beam to go in, along with a ceremony marking the beginning of this. It all starts to go vertical now. And I have no idea where this first piece of steel has gone. Maybe it's the start of that HUGE castle? (o: Workers and Management gather for the Ceremony, etc.

Nrthwnd
Has anybody heard or read about what (if any) attractions or services/shops are in possible jeopardy (i.e. not being built), due to this recent stuff about Iger being upset with how things are going with MyPass+ ? The Fantasy Land Boat Cruise in SD wasn't mentioned in any of what I read, of what projects were still proceeding, etc. But I was just curious. (And totally worrying, of course!) jedimaster1227
http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2013/12/first-look-garden-of-the-twelve-friends-to-feature-mosaic-murals-at-shanghai-disneyland/ Our progress towards the late 2015 opening of Shanghai Disneyland continues to gain momentum. Earlier today, we announced our first corporate alliance partner for Shanghai Disney Resort: Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), one of the most respected companies in China. The agreement provides for a strong branded presence at the resort for ICBC, including sponsorship of a key component of the Gardens of Imagination, which form the central hub of the new park in the forecourt of the park’s iconic castle. The ICBC -sponsored component, called “Garden of the Twelve Friends,” will celebrate each of the 12 Chinese Zodiac characters. “Since the opening of Disneyland in Anaheim nearly 60 years ago, we have sought to establish strong partnerships with businesses that are well-respected leaders in their industries and the communities in which they operate. We are continuing that legacy with this agreement and we are thrilled that our first major alliance partnership for the Shanghai Disney Resort is with such an esteemed partner as ICBC,” said Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “The ‘Garden of the Twelve Friends’ is an excellent example of how we are creating experiences and attractions that are designed with our Chinese guests in mind, and rooted in Disney characters and storytelling,” he added. The “Garden of the Twelve Friends” will be located inside the 11-acre collection of gardens and other attractions which lies at the center of the theme park. In addition to the mosaic tiles, the garden will feature a beautiful grove of peach trees, and provide guests with amazing views of the Enchanted Storybook Castle as well as a stunning backdrop for photo opportunities. We are pleased to share a first look at one of the handmade glass tile mosaic murals that will be found in the “Garden of the Twelve Friends” at Shanghai Disneyland. Each Chinese Zodiac sign will be represented by a Disney or Pixar character. So for example, the Chinese Zodiac for Year of the Rat will be Remy from Ratatouille. The “Garden of the Twelve Friends” can be viewed when gates open at Shanghai Disney Resort at the end of 2015. Be sure and check back here on the Disney Parks Blog for more updates.
