DirkFunk
Some scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean: First you pass a restaurant... ...sometime later a wild Jack Sparrow appears... ...and then this happens: Yet another example of what you can do with projections that "practical effects" just can't imitate. Nrthwnd
^ I'm going to wait, until I can figure out a perfect Trifecta (sp?)... Of an Disney Asian Tour, to Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo Disney Resorts. It'll be ultra $$$ but will be so worth it!

SixFlagsAstroworld
I love the effects of the Tron Light Cycle Coaster. ... ... In fact. I love everything about it
viking86
Just had a look at the videos of Pirates, definitely looks interesting. The projections in the third video looks spectacular, would love it to see it in person. I also had a look at the comments on various sites on facebook after they posted the Tron video. Seems like there are a lot of dissappointed people who expected a high-intensity thrill ride. I think many of these people forget what Disney is about. Holy crap, the way they manage the projections and then dump you right into the giant physical set for the battle scene is insane.
viking86
^Oh I didn't realize that more than three videos had been posted. All I can say is HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
shadox17
Yeah, watching Pirates, I have to think really hard to decipher what is projection and what is physical set. I love it!
dreynolds1982
Wow, both of those rides look amazing. The projection effects in Pirates look absolutely stunning. I'd expect to see a similar use of those effects in the "boat" ride coming to Star Wars land. From the looks of things, it appears they done an incredible job of seamlessly integrating the projection effects with practical effects, using the projections as amazing transitions between larger sets. COASTER FREAK 11
LOL, there is no boast ride. It was a person accidentally speaking about the Avatar Land while ALSO discussing the Star Wars land.
Jew
Looks great. I love when projection effects are used to supplement physical effects and not just used as a shortcut!

Haha I know hence the " " around boat. Was one of the funnier rumors bouncing around for a while though, watching people try to figure out how a boat makes sense in a Star Wars themed ride... Nrthwnd
Both the attractions look great! I am still curious what the new 'tricks' are, that the PoTC boats can/will (maybe) do. Like turning around, going backwards, sideways....?

Nrthwnd
I would definitely already consider this a two-day park, with allllll the walking you'll have to do, to get around, lol. Actually, I just noticed. Is there no form of Main Street-style transportation within the Hub itself? Or is everybody walking, everywhere in the park? Nrthwnd
^ Ah, of course! Silly me. Of course, to train the general public (and/or cast members) NOT to "do stuff", only Disney can do it. Ask the French.... (Disney Trivia: It was the male DLP cast members who refused to shave off their facial hair....and they won!)
DBJ
Would love to see the Tron coaster take over the a modified Peoplemover route at DL. The clean simple lines of it are quite striking there in the video. The theme would work quite well with the rest of T. Land. Pirates does look like the next evolution of the dark ride experience. Hope to see those style of effects used well in Pandora at AK, and in the Star Wars Lands in a few years.
