Funny this thread was bumped today. On the way into work this morning, I encountered three separate instances where an idiot talking on his/her cell phone could have easily caused an accident because they were disrupting the flow of traffic. The kicker....it was raining, and the road were really slick in some areas. Yeah, way to concentrate, you morons.

When is the government finally gonna build my personal monorail system?

Yeah, you have to be smart about that stuff and use common sense. I'll call someone back if I'm hitting traffic. Sure, I'm only going 10mph, but thats when I feel you need to concentrate the most.

FWIW, I've been trying some voice to text programs since Hector mentioned it. I haven't tried on while driving, though.

In short, I'm against texting etc whilst driving, UNLESS you're stuck in traffic anyway, and literally not moving. The second you're off again you should stop.

There are many distractions with satnav/ipod etc, and yes in all honesty I do change my ipod tunes occasionally, but I think thats easier than talking or texting. If they made it illegal however I'd stop doing that. Perhaps a little hipocritical, but I have never used my phone to text/talk whilst driving.
