Mr Stratosphere
Hey Everyone! This Photo TR will be ongoing but I will get right into the juicy stuff!! I just got back from a week long vacation aboard the Liberty of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's largest ship and the World's Largest ship until they unveil Oasis of the Seas which will bypass Liberty. Are you a citizen of the Nation of Why Not?? Satruday, September 12, 2009 (Day One): Miami, Florida Sunday (Day Two): At Sea Monday (Day Three): At Sea Tuesday (Day Four): St. Marteen Wednesday (Day Five): San Juan, Puerto Rico Thursday (Day Six): Labadee, Haiti Friday (Day Seven): At Sea Saturday (Day Eight): Miami, Florida I will start off with the POV of Dragon's Tail. This alpine coaster is a new coaster that just opened early August of 2009. The only way you can get this credit is to take a trip on board a Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruise Line ship to Labadee, Haiti. Labadee is Royal Caribbean's private secluded beach in Haiti. I will continue this photo TR later on this week. I literally just stepped in the door and wanted to share this! I hope you all enjoy! [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=100_6035_x34a[/coastertube] POV of Dragon's Tail - If you look closely you can see the ship anchored in the distance. This POV was taken with permission. This is Labadee Royal Caribbean's private beach. This is Dragon's Flight, the World's longest zip line above water. The lift hill to Dragon's Tail. Zip lines are so worth the price!! This is at the entrance to Dragon's Tail. The safety briefing. Customary Nerd Shot Liberty of the Seas. I will post more from this trip in the very near future. To visit Labadee you must first become a citizen of the Nation of Why Not, I am and you should be too! John
broomy
Wow that really is something else and a hidden gem. My parents have just been on that same cruise and said the ship was out of this world, currently enjoying there last few days in florida.
Mr Stratosphere
We did the same, we had an extra day in Miami so we went and did the Everglades. For the first time we planned on going out and coming back a day early. Was way better than rushing around from the airport to the ship and vise versa! We were incredibly impressed with Labadee and we will make it a destination on a future cruise. They are currently building a pier so you don't have to tender anymore and to accommodate Oasis of the Seas. John
Reon
Dragon's Tail looks like fun (not to mention the zip line) I love the sound that the lift makes...
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess
Dragon's Tail looks really cool, abit ghetto in a way though. Especially the trains and the braking. Dragon's Tail isn't listed RCDB for some reason. Nobody reported it yet?

DATman
^Though they really are roller coasters. I mean, it's a scenic railway with upstop wheels and steel track.
larrygator
^^But he counts bobsled "coasters". There is much debate on what constitutes a coaster. Count it if you want or don't count it. It is your preference, but we don't need to go through the debate on mountain coasters again.
robbalvey
That is so great that it's already open! It was under construction when we were there in December and we are planning on getting back there once Oasis sets sail! --Robb "We really need a TPR cruise!" Mr Stratosphere
I was extremely excited seeing the promotions on the ship. Labadee, Haiti is a great destination in itself. I plan on sailing with Oasis of the Seas sometime next year. A TPR Cruise would be amazing!! More photos to come later tonight! John

Mr Stratosphere
I think my favorite part of that coaster was the onride photo taken there are the end. They actually took great photos. If you have even been on a cruise you then know that photographers are everywhere!! By the time we were done with dinner the photos were already up in the ship's gallery. John
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess
I think my favorite part of that coaster was the onride photo taken there are the end. So the "on ride photo" is more like those "cruise ship photos" I assume? Like those ones they try to sell you "2 for $22" on the ship?
ebl
This looks like a lot of fun. I noticed they had traffic lights along the course...interesting. My guess is that if they're yellow or red, then you'd better slow down or stop. Eric

Mr Stratosphere
Day Zero (Counting days as days on the ship): September 11th, 2009 We didn't want to rush to the ship so we left for Miami a day early. We flew with Continental Airlines, it was nice to have a movie to entertain us during the flight. The only issue we have with them is that they charge for luggage!! I just wish they would include the first checked bag in the ticket price. Hidden fees really suck! We arrived in Miami around 10AM and decided to grab a rental car to check out Miami Beach and catch a Marlins game at Dolphin Stadium er... I mean Land Shark Stadium. The weather was nice except for an evening thunderstorm, but I love thunderstorms! The weather was amazing today, Humidity a huge change from the dry Vegas heat. As you can see the summer crowds are now gone. Land Shark Stadium, AKA Dolphin Stadium. Renamed this year and home of the Miami Dolphins, and The Florida Marlins until their new stadium is completed. I felt that this was sad, 30 minutes to gametime and the Marlins are in second place and the ballpark was empty. Their World Series Trophy on display in the offices. At gametime, there was only about 3,000+ in the crowd. More to come later tonight! John
Mr Stratosphere
Day One: Boarding Liberty of the Seas and setting sail. We arrived at the Port of Miami around 10:30AM. They started boarding the ship at 11:30 and if you cruise with Royal Caribbean, be sure to check in online. This will make the embarking of the ship happen very quickly! This was the easiest we have ever gotten on board a ship. This only took us about 15 minutes and we were on board. I will get onto the photos, there aren't any photos of the Muster Drill because they are very adamant about having everyone pay attention. I was happy that they don't make you wear the life vests anymore to the drill, mainly because it was extremely hot and humid! On to the photos!! This is my parents Balcony Room, I had they decorate it for their Silver Anniversary. It was a nice surprise for them. The Freedom Class of ships have much larger staterooms and full size LCD Televisions in each cabin. The view from their cabin... Hey it said oceanview stateroom!! Where's the ocean... Royal Caribbean's headquarters, if you google earth the headquarters, the building from the air looks like the famous crown and anchor logo. Downtown Miami My stateroom, it faced the Royal Promenade. I really liked this room. Though the restroom is small, I really liked how big this stateroom is. The Carnival Destiny, unfortunately I heard that this ship was having some engine problems and arrived and departed late this day. Liberty's Bridge. Nothing but open seas ahead of us. Miami Beach, a Saturday and much more crowded. The rock climbing wall. The Royal Promenade. Seattle's Best, as you can see the rooms facing inside the ship. Cheap ice cream! It was amazing The Middle window is my stateroom. The casino took more from me than I got back, but was still a blast! Ironically I just came here to get away from Vegas.. Johnny Rockets on the ship, all you had to pay was a $4.99 service fee, basically the tip, all food is inclusive. Great deal! My hallway. Every elevator on the ship had the day on the floor, you will never forget the day it was on this ship. Amazing they would all be changed before midnight for the next day. Hope you enjoyed this update, Day 2 and 3 will be next, both of which were at sea! More photos of this ship will come soon! John
jamesdillaman
The only thing that really turns me off about the cruise vacation is all the "hidden" costs: tipping, alcoholic drinks, etc. that are not part of their advertised price. I dunno, it's just hard for me to make the jump to a 7-day cruise as opposed to 7 days in Mexico at an all-inclusive resort, for example. That being said, The zipline looked awesome from Robb and Elissa's photos, and the alpine "coaster" looks like a lot of fun. Glad you had a good time and I look forward to seeing more of your photos! Maybe if I win the lotto... which would be amazing seeing as I don't even have the funds to play it! -James Dillaman

Mr Stratosphere
Wait a minute, since when has Ben & Jerrys been cheap? It was cheap on the ship. So was Johnny Rockets. Basically only paying $4.99 service fee all inclusive menu. John
