TTDluv123
What do you think is the most bizzare looking supports for a ride? This one blows my mind:

ryno1986
^ WTF. HRRR has weird supports. So does California Screamin'. The whole thing looks like a wooden roller coaster. What's up with that?
Chris Benvenuto
^^ WOW! and I agree with you^ WTF?! But Intamin's supports are worthy of questionable note, without saying, specially that there support!
stuartnz
California Screamin' was designed like that intentionally. The Paradise Pier area is themed to an old boardwalk amusement park, and I guess for whatever reason they didn't want a REAL woodie. But that first picture blows my mind. What were they thinking? deathbydinn
California Screaming has cool not odd supports. As for the first one WTF? To me it looks like they either, 1) Didn't have the right loop supports so they just throw together what they had 2) The supports were meant for some weird crazy element that got removed for a loop, like how Mavericks heartline roll was made then removed 3) or they changed their company a little Intamin, supplying the world with great coasters and great bongs
larrygator
Great Bear's support are unique because it was decided that for environmental reasons the supports could not be placed in the creek.
Mich17mak
..it's like a rollercoaster sculpture. I like it.
Em-Z
That is really bizarre! What coaster is that?
CoasterLine
That coaster is Tornado at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid... Both loops are supported the same, and the overall coaster looks way "over supported"
WFChris
When I saw this thread, I immediately thought about Robb's "Intamin Throne." Great topic idea! Chris.
AyTrane
From the look of the inverted supports, I'd say that the area must receive some sort of seismic activity.

Sasquatch
Wow, it looks like someone couldn't even be bothered to dig a 1-2ft hole to make room for the track.... That's the recession for you! Josh 'Economically Unstable' Cooper

B-RadG
All of the Backlots have weird supports on the helix. It's just a giant pole with random little poles sticking out of it.

hyyyper
This looks very strange. From the looks of it the loop has been downsized, but not the support itself. So they made a few connecting tubes and done.
