Six Flags Darien Lake (SFDL) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I had some spare time and I know some people here talked about Ride Of Steel being being repainted. I just calculated how much it would cost to repaint Ride Of Steel. It would take about 62 gallons of paint the track and about another 60 to paint the supports. So, assuming they are using Sherwin Williams brand paint, it is $45 per gallon. So, 45 multiplied by 122 is 5,490. Thus it will cost $5,490 to repaint Ride Of Steel. I simply put this here FYI (and I had the miracle of having that much spare time).

I don't know how you calculated that, but I'm afraid to tell you that you're at least half a million dollars off what it would actually cost. You're forgetting labor, marine grade paint, and the equipment needed to do the job. It's not as simple as going to your local Sherwin Williams and picking up some brushes and paint cans.

X2 cost around 700,000 to paint, and that was almost 10 years ago.

Nickelback was my very first concert

I'm very sorry to hear that! Was it this one?

Something tells me it wasn't the type of rock concert they expected to play at. But I like it.

Hey look on the bright side, Vonni. At least your first concert was the absolute sh*ttiest band on the planet, concerts could only have gotten better from there, amirite?

Lol I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed myself, and I do still like Nickelback (at least Silver Side Up), but yes, I have seen better concerts since then. My top three being Lady Gaga, Cher, and Disturbed. I'm very eclectic in my music taste.

Speaking of removing the go carts what is you just removed them and put in a campground only pool. the hotel has one but campers cant access it,it would be a major improvement and they had one where moto coaster now stands and i doubt they sold the major components

I have a weird feeling that I know where this post is going to ultimately wind up.

Edit - it's already there! LMAO!

^Most likely, yes. Going forward, it may change now that Premier has more budget control. But this year will be status quo until everyone gets settled in. Viper is the best chance to see a second train.

Viper has a second train it was used in the 2015 and 16 season

It wasn't used last year. It was supposed to be put on in July, but they never went through with the plans.

I have spotted yellow colored track outside of clearmont but i doubt thats for darien lake but if you look near the farmhouse access road you'll notice a blue object with a white frame and if you look at clearmont it has the same

Satellite view on Google maps are not real time images. Anything blue and white at Darien Lake is more than likely related to the PAC.

I'm a history major student, not a math major. Also, very glad to have entertained y'all.

Now as for the mystery blue and white thing... Kanonen?
