In their defense, that old logo is just YouTube overlaying their avatar on the video. It's not like they just threw a Six Flags logo on an old branded video and re-uploaded it. Not that its all that hard to change a youtube avatar but that's all that really is.

How many decibels would you say approximately?

This is important.

Why approximate? They have devices specifically made to measure decibels. We need an exact answer.

Answers people! This is pertinent information here!

Apparently it ranges from negative infinity to negative 90db. Good luck hearing anything at all unless you’re literally pressing your ear against the speaker. Truly such a shame since I only go to Darien lake for the ambiance of background music playing at a normal volume of 45 decibels or more.

I just got off the phone with the Darien Lake DJ. He said he will decide how many decibels to play music at, based on how many pages of discussion we have on this board about it. I think were up to 5 pages, so only 40 more to go!

So, an update on those Go Fast passes for Diamond Elite members. I know it was touched upon - but here’s the official language for nerds like me who care about stuff like this. Also. Some glamour shots of SkyScreamer. The more I see it and ride it, the more I think it was the perfect addition to the park. The thing is awesome! (And some laser show pictures because I can’t resist)

Lastly, hot topic. The music was playing again today, at a (get this) normal volume. We could hear it *just* enough that it didn’t completely fade out between the speakers. Yay for *almost* no audio dead zones! (No Decibel readings this trip, folks. Maybe next time if we’re lucky )

Nice photos, that thing looks amazing on photos, especially with that amazing lighting it has!

Also, any updates about the whole second train situation with Mind Eraser?

Was at the park yesterday for the first time in a long time. The last time I was there Moto Coaster was still a swimming pool. A lot has changed since then but there is still a lot thats the same. What did surprise me was how quiet the park was. Everything was a walk on yesterday. I found Ride of Steel not as smooth as it used to be. Tantrum is my favorite coaster at the park now. Got to ride it 3 times. Ignite the Night was a fantastic show and I am glad I stayed to watch it.

Overall I had a great day at the park. One thing that I noticed is the park really needs a paint job on a lot of things and the park needs more lighting at night. All in all its still a good park. Just needs some TLC.

RoS has gotten rougher, but it was actually worse in 2015. 2016 was when the new train was purchased and it certainly helped with the shakiness, but yeah, it’s gotten rough. Tantrum is a great ride for what it’s worth. Not a long ride, but fun, intense and smooth as butter, and typically a walk-on!

As for paint and lighting, yes-it’s the glaring issue with the place, along with the terribly uneven blacktop. My friend twisted his ankle in a giant pothole there last time we went to the park. A bit ridiculous that they can’t even pave a path, but hopefully Six Flags will at least work on making the blacktop more flat.

Like you said, it’s certainly a good park full of potential, it just needs somebody to be willing to invest in the place.
