PKI Jizzman
Did TPR ever make it to SeaWorld San Antonio and Schlitterbahn? This and the other Texas trip reports I saw all seem to end at Kemah? Was the rest of the trip that bad? TRs are a LOT of work to do well. It's very easy to start them when you just got back from a trip and are still excited about it. Then real life has a way of coming in and stealing all your time and motivation. Exactly what happened. And I start Xavier this week! I didn't take as many photos at SFFT as the other parks; and Schlitterbahn hardly at all. I'm going to try to get pictures and reviews up! I figured there would be more that would pop up!
moinab
^^ Because posts like these show a lack of patience and lack of respect for the trip report writers. Do you really truly believe that the trip suddenly aborted or suddenly became so awful that nobody could bear to post a report after Kemeh? That's absurd. Or maybe I'm giving you too much credit, and you really just don't have a clue. But hey, go right ahead and keep asking "where are all the updates?" and see where that gets you. jamesdillaman
Where's the update Zach? j/k Hey just got back from KC. Were you at Holiday World again, or did my cell phone just get random texts from you for no reason? Anxious to hear your review of SFFT. Krypton coaster is still my favorite floorless.... -James Dillaman
GuruGuys
No, we left after Kemah, because the Bullet blew our minds away. We did finish the trip. ^^ Because posts like these show a lack of patience and lack of respect for the trip report writers. Do you really truly believe that the trip suddenly aborted or suddenly became so awful that nobody could bear to post a report after Kemah? That's absurd. Or maybe I'm giving you too much credit, and you really just don't have a clue. But hey, go right ahead and keep asking "where are all the updates?" and see where that gets you. Taiko Rolls Eyes I asked what I thought to be a legit question and I get sarcasm (like I don't already get enough of that) and yelled at for 'rushing trip reports'. Its like I have a target on my back. So... First, I never singled out Jizzman for not updating his Trip Report, my original post said 'NONE of the trip reports made it much past Kemah'. While it never made TPR's front page, the one that did is even less thorough: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=781556#781556 Second, while I don't post to a lot to other threads on TPR, I do read them and I rarely see it take a month for at least one person who went on the trip to at least post some comments or pictures which cover the entire trip. With that knowledge it made me question if it rained the last day or something came up which caused the last day of the trip to be bad. With that series of thought known, is this not feasible question to ask? Thanks to Ginzo who at least provides a mature response: TRs are a LOT of work to do well. It's very easy to start them when you just got back from a trip and are still excited about it. Then real life has a way of coming in and stealing all your time and motivation. I know how hard it is to post trip reports, I have posted a few myself, one I spent MANY hours writing as it was a text based report. I can see how motivation for such things wear off when the adrenaline is gone and real life returns. As I stated above, I was just wondering if something happened (again, perhaps horrid Texas weather, bus problems, who knows?) which would attribute to slower reports because it seemed more than coincidental that the last day wasn't really mentioned any of the threads covering the trips. And thanks to Jizzman for not taking offense: Exactly what happened. And I start Xavier this week! I didn't take as many photos at SFFT as the other parks; and Schlitterbahn hardly at all. I'm going to try to get pictures and reviews up! I figured there would be more that would pop up! Yes, I thought more would pop up too. In conclusion, I meant no disrespect, I was not trying to 'rush the trip reporters' or single out Jizz Man. For unintentionally doing so I apologize and will be more clear in future posts. -GG
moinab
My reply that you quoted was not directed at you. The person I was responding to (as indicated by the ^^) deleted his original post. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
GuruGuys
That can happen when posts are deleted with little explanation, then other posts are left behind which then don't follow the thread properly. The post right above yours had my original question in it, so when I saw the ^^ I thought it was leading back to my post. It really wasn't your fault, no reason to apologize. Sorry I misunderstood! -GG
Wood Dragon 1988
Okay, so you're telling us you SERIOUSLY thought the trip may have been over after Kemah. That 50 enthusiasts would fly to Dallas, pay $1000, go to SFOT and Kemah twice, and go home. Sorry for me thinking that sounded a bit sarcastic, and responding in a semi-sarcastic way. And I actually answered your question as well. Honestly, this argument is one of the most pointless things ever, and I don't know why stupid stuff like this constantly ruins good trip reports. jamesdillaman
In respect to Zach, I think you should all be patient and not fill his TR thread with more than a page of discussion about how fast it should take to post his TR... Just speaking as a friend here. He's been busy this week. He WILL get around to it, and as always his photos will be worth the wait, in my opinion. Zach, did you get to say hi to Jeff Seibert at SB? I miss that guy... -James Dillaman
PKI Jizzman
Hey guys! SFFT is now up. We left Kemah during the afternoon, then arrived at SFFT after about a four hour drive. Another great Six Flags park. The setting was beautiful, as expected. It's inside of a big rock quarey! I didn't go to the water park, but it looked nice. Of course, Superman Krypton Coaster was awesome. Very good B&M coaster. I totally agree that the "floorless" feature is a gimmick unless you're in the front seat. The front is where to ride this ride! So cool flying up and down the cliffs, and the zero g was possibly the most perfect element I've ever experienced on a coaster. It was....just wow. Poltergiest was pretty fun. It was different than Flight of Fear; but FoF is better in my opinion; the theme and whole ride experience is cool. BUT!!! I love the whole "house" station. Very cool. Rattler. Ugh. Sucked sucked sucked sucked sucked sucked sucked. So bad. Even in the front seat, it was bad. The location and the first drop was so cool! But...the ride was bad. Tony Hawk....was fun. Me and Luko had a GREAT out of control spinning ride, and that was really good. Bugs Bunny's Water Ride - A nice little log flume. I heard that there were some effects that weren't running up to par, but it was very fun. An acceptable ammount of wetness. Frisbee - Was AWESOME!!! It looks so innocent until BAM! Crazy out of control spinning and swinging. Boomerang - My first. Smooth, forceful. Whatever. Mine Ride - Very fast paced and forceful! It was pretty cool, very unexpected. Goliath - The least favorite batman of the trip. Meh, it's just another good B&M invert! The park gave us GREAT treatment. Like, VIP star quality. Everyone was so cool to us, gave us great food, kept us updated on the rides when it stormed, and even talked to us while we waited in line! I felt so special! The brisket was awesome! Enjoy the pics. -JZ Bugs' Rapids! Yummy Vekoma. No spooge today Fun fun fun fun TPR....attack!!! eewwwww Pretty colors. Awesome! More B&M goodness! PKI Jizzman
More pics. Oh, and San Antonio Sam's show was FREAKING AMAZING. I loved it. Epic on so many levels. Here's the last. Sorry I slacked. Sea World will make up for it! -JZ Like, where's Mary Jane? Texas Heat = Gallons of Booty Sweat Awesome Awesome Awesome Massive loop! Sorry I slacked on the pictures! Omg <3333 Yup! Making ugly things pretty. It was a lot of fun, but FoF is better. Superman looked really pretty. Omg, Scream! was amazing. So good. Every S&S tower should be a combo, and to this power. PKI Jizzman
Hey TPR! SeaWorld San Antonio was on the list for the next morning. I wasn't sure what to expect, it being a Busch park and a SeaWorld. I knew they had a few good rides, and was very anxious to ride them. The park was nicely landscaped. Nothing amazing, but nothing close to a Cedar Fair park. I found the animal exhibits to be a bit dissapointing. I was expecting to see something on par with a zoo or aquarium, but just got a "look, here they are" and then leave. The dolphin encounter was pretty cool, but you had to pay to get close to them. I found that out the hard way! LOL! But we got special treatment when during lunch they brought out some extra critters. They were pretty cool. Not forgetting Shamu!!! Furry edition. Steel Eel - This was a pretty crazy coaster. The drops seemed so steep! My butt slammed down into the seat after every hill. Some fun airtime in the front and back seat. If the midcours didn't kill the speed, it'd be a top 10 coaster. It ruined those 5-6 airtime hills! Still loved the ride. Great White - I'm not sure if this batman is shorter or customed or....IDK! But it's so intense. I was seeing spots every time I rode. My favorite batman of the trip. Awesome, not to mention the great theming! Shamu Express - Skipped Journey To Atlantis - Crap Texas Splashdown - So, me and Luko waited about.....45 minutes for this log flume. I think Antonio did too! I wish the wait wasn't that long, it was a bad ass log flume! It was like, 5 minutes long, had great drops, great wetness level...but the operations weren't too good. Seemed like every boat had 1-2 people in them. BLAH. But the ride still ROCKED. My favorite of the trip. I did the.. -Penguin Encounter -Shark Reef -Dolphin Cove -Bird Habitat And thought they were all under par. They were still cool! But I was just expecting big things from a SeaWorld and Busch park. It just felt like a low budget park, and I think everyone else agreed when comparing it to the others. Enjoy the pics! -JZ And the last picture for now. Thanks for reading! Hey Erik! Mid-loop Crazyyy loops! TPR loves Great White! tons and tons and tons of ERT! time for Great White! I think Dan's on his 500th lap. Weee! Pretty Yummy first drop Heading over to Great White! Heading into the brake run all in one Gotcha Derek! First drop crazyness! Oh Ben. LOLOLOLOLOL Gary and Chris pilot the front seat! Heading up to Steel Eel for some ERT! Hey Wes! We're here to ride coasters! No, we're not going to the mall.. See? Pretty landscaping in some areas. Even with maps the size of dinner menus, I can't find the coasters! Griffon? Awesome! Free bags, a warm bottle of water, HIGHLIGHTERS IN NEON COLORS, and a NOTEPAD! All for us to use to buy lockers to put them in! WOO!

PKI Jizzman
I felt like I should finish up/add any last pictures from my Texas trip with TPR in order to get people excited for the 2010 trip ideas! Seriously, TPR trips are the best thing ever. See all the pictures in this thread for MORE than enough proof! Reposting from the other page: SeaWorld San Antonio was on the list for the next morning. PKI Jizzman
The end =( And the back of the bus, where the party was! Thanks for an amazing trip, everyone. It was great meeting new friends, riding new rides, and having a fantastic time all around. Thanks esp. to Robb and Elissa! Can't wait until 2010! And last two pictures....front of the buss Back on the bus, Wes demonstrates such kinky nature. No sex for you, crabs! lolzozlzozlZz The shrimpy crabs get to watch. Eels have kinky threesomes, too. CrAzzzYyYYYyyy eel sex! Sharks!!!! Just a small aquarium. Ready for more sharks!? A nice little exhibit. The animal stuff in the parks was a bit dissapointing to me. I didn't seem like the quality I was expecting. It's all clicks and whistles to me. Porpus(es) Porpus. The Deep South people should get this LOL I got my credit. It's like a chute-the-chutes that spins you around. LOL San Diego? It's hotter than blazin' wings out here! Why aren't these GIANT fans on?!?!?!? The wait was an hour or so, I didn't ride =( It looked refreshing! Acceptable? We need more blue B&Ms. This ride is really intense! Derek should enjoy these next few shots! Great White <333333 Loved the queue! Lift! LOLOLOLOL Great White is sooo good. Ummm...? Penguin randomness. The 45 min wait for it, was not. The longest line of the trip! The log flume was omfg awesome. Awesome ride, a big surprise Steel Eel fun! Omg, more animals?! Awesome!

Swimace
Awesome dude! I agree that the animal exhibits I saw at SeaWorld were a little bit lacking, the park was really different than my home one. Texas was blast though, great pics!
Electerik
While SeaWorld San Antonio certainly has its charms (chief among them, Steel Eel), I think it's a bit weak as a "SeaWorld." Great photos, though--as always!

I agree that the animal exhibits I saw at SeaWorld were a little bit lacking, the park was really different than my home one. Texas was blast though, great pics! carolinacaniac
It was awesome to relieve the trip in about 20 minutes! I miss it so much, being on that trip was certainly one of the best times I ever had. Coasterfrk49
Sweet pictures. Its nice to see some photos and hear good things from the one Seaworld park that never seems to get much love because it's not in Florida or California.
christianscoasters
Steel Eel is my 2nd favorite coaster (behind Tatsu). I rode in the back seat with a full train. WOW! The airtime was incredible. I love SWSA, but I feel like something is missing. There wasn't a whole lot there, and some of the animal exhibits seemed neglected. Dolphin Cove, it was just a tank. Didn't look like their natural environment or anything. Other than that, I really like this park!
bobbinbop20
Nice Pictures, I went to SWSA In December of 2009, and I can agree with others who said it's lacking on the exhibit side of things. They had lots of concrete and not much else. Besides Steel Eel Everyone says that Great White is super intense, I'm not sure why but when I rode it I found it to be rather lame and I actually liked Goliath at SFFT better..... It was a really cold morning, I'm sure that's why. I'd love to ride that thing when It's 100 out!
christianscoasters
Great white is around 100' shorter than other B:TR clones. So I'm assuming it makes the elements a bit tighter. I thought it was pretty intense. Goliath was just "meh" to me. Most people find Great White to be more intense than others.
