P. 469: Family inverted coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

There's finally a reason to go to Water Country.. really the first time since Aquazoid.

I can't believe they're going with Mach Tower. I thought Der Fallinfast was a tad cheesy, but Mach Tower manages to be cheesy and vanilla.

I can't believe I'm complaining about the name. I'm such a whiny geek.

Happy to see Busch remembered the existence of the mystical "flat ride." Hopefully the way they're expanding Oktoberfest will leave room for another. Why not gut Castle O Sullivan, put in the bumper cars there and have a crazy light show?

Excited for the launcher. I think it'll be Maverick-esque in some ways, but iSpeedish in others. Exciting. I'm looking for it to be painted a BRIGHT RED.

But I fear the color of red would make the GP believe it's the Wolf...

Perhaps at dramatic parts of the ride like the launches, the Hummel Boy make an appearance expressing shock as only the Hummel Boy can do. I would have no objections if they kept it as Big Bad Wolf, it had a fierce and ominous logo. A Deliverance theme might be more appropraite for the region, and Steve - your three little pigs will be squealing.

I would love to see a top hat where BBW's second lift was. It could launch, twist up the top hat, and have an extended drop going down towards the Rhine. If it had a 200 foot tall top hat it could have a near 300 foot drop on the other side. I am in no way expecting anything like that but it is an awesome sight to imagine.

I was wondering why the old BBW station was never removed... Apparently Busch plans on 'recycling it.' This would be the second time in 2 years that they would do such a thing...

Imma fan of Mach Tower, though its not as themed as I was hoping for... This new coaster sounds like it will be splendid. Im hoping for red track (fingers crossed)

^I'm more curious about the extra "surprises" than the theming (although I think it'll be colorful enough for Oktoberfest). Tilting seats? Maybe a "fake" initial drop?

Remember that 2011 is about more than just adding a drop tower; it's about revamping Oktoberfest, as well. Busch has always been more about the overall experience, rather than individual rides.

Sounds like a good two year plan but with other parks I want to see first (plus with my bf's list), I think I'd wait until 1212 to head back there. The park though in IMO does need a new coaster so looks like 1212 will be a great year for BGW.

1212? I want to borrow your time machine! It would be amazing to see what the park looked like back then.

^I believe the Chickahominy tribe was running the park back in 1212. Then Sir Walter Raleigh came along, bought them out for case of Guinness, and slapped a European theme on the place.

Just to be clear the park was founded by Leif Ericson's crew and had Norse theming, but the abandoned the park was abandoned when the Vikings left North America. That is when the Chickahominy took control.

When Sir Walter Raleigh came on borad the British did away with all Norse theming as they were still bitter about being plundered so often. Not to mention that little Iceland / Greenland trick.

Well, let's see: First the earth cooled. And, then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died, and they turned into oil. And, then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And, Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it, he took her best summer dress out of the closet, and put it on, and went to town.

Had to do this. just. Had. To.

Sounds nice! Looks like Mach Tower will be a gyro drop from Intamin or a Fabbri Drop Tower.

Actually, Moser Rides is building Mach Tower for BGW. I've never ridden their drop rides. Are they any good?

I rode the 160ft version at the fair here when it use to travel and it was virtually an intamin drop tower (first generation). Same technology, seating arrangement and all.

+1

i'm curious about the "extra surprises" as well........although i have to say i'm semi-disappointed with the drop tower. what appears to be weak themeing, not as tall as the one at KD, lower capacity than the one at KD. the only good thing it has is the gyro spin on the way up. granted i'll take it, any ride is better than no ride.

the water slides look awesome.

gonna be interesting to see how often BG releases teasers about the 2012 coaster on their website. but overall........well done BG, as usual.
