Busch Gardens Williamsburg (BGW BGE) Discussion Thread

P. 453 - Bierfest begins July 30th

I'm glad that Intamin is finally coming back to BGW. I think the last Intamin ride built at the park was Escape from Pompeii. They should've used them for Mach Tower, too.

these are some great pics, Chuck.

and agreed, the color choice on the track is lovely!

Def. on my radar to get back to this park (sooner rather than later), to ride the new hotness!

Great photos and report Chuck! Whoever at BGW that said “hey let’s take this beautiful beer garden with coasters that everyone loves, and add a screaming swing, and 2 huge Intamin coasters” is one of my favorite people in the world.

THIS may be the one I look forward the most in 2020.

I love what Intamin is doing here.

It looks like they are designing almost-PERFECT swiss army knife type coasters to me:

(1) lots of twisty craziness (especially low to the ground);

(2) launches;

(3) huge steep drops;

(4) airtime;

(5) crazy inversions;

(6) and even miscellany like RMC type outer banked hills.

It really feels like it has a little bit of EVERYTHING? (the parc asterix one in France looks even MORE amazing!)

Other than perhaps Maverick, I can't think of too many other steel coasters with this kind of diversity (obviously, RMCs have it, and are likely the inspiration here, with two elements: the stall and the outer bank looking very RMC-ey)

Great report. This is still my favorite/most anticipated 2020 coaster. We don't deserve Intamin.

?...

I think there will be much screaming here, which will tick off some people who like to watch coaster POV videos in reverent silence. Too bad!

I think I see what you did there!

Thanks for the update.

What did you find confusing about my statement?

I should have clarified by making an eye rolling emoji toward the Intamin sentiment. Sorry for the confusion.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Planning a summer visit to BG Williamsburg but they haven't updated website to reflect Quick Queue pricing, does anyone know roughly what I can expect to pay for a QQ Unlimited around mid-June at the VA park?

BG Tampa shows QQ pricing starting at $19.99 but increases as the calendar days change into summer. Just wondering if VA uses the same pricing protocol.

Thanks in advance!

What day of the week do you plan to go?

If you go mid-week you most likely wont need QQ.

Unless you want to marathon Le Scoot, like everyone should. I'd pay whatever Busch Gardens wanted for that privilege.

True. That and Roman Rapids were the only non-coaster waits we had, but it was also 97°. Waited about 15 min for RR and 1/2 hour for Le Scoot.
