I think they said verlassen rather than lassen because of VERbolten. Also, Verbolten isn't a German word, Verboten is a German meaning prohibited. Though, Verboten doesn't sound like a good coaster name.

^ I remember when there was a list of potential names being circulated, "Verbolten" was my least favorite in the list.

Verbolten as a word is a pun. It really goes with the lighthearted yet sadistic theme of the ride.

I liked your comment on the Ops practicing their 'Do not sit on the Q bars.' This does make me wonder though - with all of the advances in technology and theming, why do parks keep using 'Monkey Bars' for their Q? It seems that they could use a thinner metal 'fence' that could still be alterable to change the queue length or even those pull out 'cloth' ones like you see at the airport check-in. Its kind of funny to spend so much money to theme an area and then fill it with Monkey Bars...not that this is anything to get worked up about...I'm just wondering. I remember asking this same question when I was a Fantasyland East Ride Host back in 1994.

I agree with using a themed pathways over a Q line with endless steel bars going back and forth. It works with Q bars if there is a space restriction but if you have available space add the themed Q and make a buildup for the ride.

^There's a little of both in Verbolten's queue. The park has installed a new entrance for the ride, which features a short, winding walkway. But remember that they're reusing an existing building, which they've also extensively re-themed; even so, they have to work around the existing space.

 

It looks a lot different from the old Big Bad Wolf queue--and better.

So in that video the drop section looks to be maybe a little bit more intense that the one at Legoland? We'll see, can't wait to hear some reviews of this thing should be a great addition to an all ready fantastic park!

 

Is it just me or do those trains have a bit of a Schwarzkopf feel to them?

^The drop section on Verbolten appears to be more intense, yes. It is hard to tell without riding both, but there does seem to be a little more oomph in the drop.

^Yeah, it does look to have a little more "oomph", I wonder if the physical dimensions of the drop track piece itself is any different from the one at Legoland? That quick Verbolten clip it looks like it actually "free falls" a longer distance before being stopped by the brakes but you would think that from a manufacturers standpoint it would be easier to produce one one universal drop section that can be programmed for different levels of intensity for different types of rides, but maybe not.

At the hard-hat tour, Larry Giles compared the drop to having "a chair pulled out from under you."

I heard BGW employee preview has been postponed. Can you confirm or let us know what is happening with the ride? Since today in not an operating day, how does the staff preview work? Does BGW announce it to employees and anyone interested shows up on their day off to ride Verbolten?

Just because the park is not open does not mean that it is everyone's day off. Since they are open Friday-Sunday presently, they probably do a lot of training and cleaning on Thursdays. I know from two different summers at CP you come in a week before the park opens and cycle your ride everyday to get you used to it and try out different positions and then go into a rotation wherein the ops from other rides come to ride yours and vice-versa; and then you also practice evacs.

As far as I know/can say, the coaster has been having typical new ride issues as of late, so the preview has been pushed back. As for preview announcements, they are announced and whoever wants to ride comes in to ride.
