Skycoastin Steve Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Screamscape is working fine for me, and they still have a "save the Big Bag Wolf" banner on the BGW page.
Saldek Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Someone on Twitter named aaroncorasdad just posted a couple pics of Mach Tower. One is from the train and one is showing the car.
thrillrider Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 is screamscape down for anyone else? i cant access the site I can't open it eather. It's been like this all day.
Skycoastin Steve Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Thank goodness the car isn't hexagonal, then I would think it was ugly until a prominent member of the board disagreed with me, and then I would instantly change my mind!
Blatch Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Mach Tower's car looks very nice! I was originally puzzled at why they chose a company from Italy i've never even heard of before, but that's actually looking bery cool! Too bad KD has a drop tower 70 feet taller not that far away... Hopefully, the "Suprises" at the top of the tower still make the ride pretty worthwhile. It might have something to do with the apparant "hinges" on the seats... maybe?
alpengeistfan1 Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 It looks to me like there's some sort of slot for the seats to move up and down in, so maybe there could be a tiny drop of the seats to fool the guests, then the whole car falls. I really have no idea, just observing the picture.

CoasterLover Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Just saw a new commercial for Mach Tower... the commercial describes that there will be music playing as the car goes up, then when you get to the top, the music will stop, the seats will "shake" and then the car will drop. Take that for what you will...
Geauga Dog Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Mach Tower looks very nice. I like the look of the base area. I wonder if this is the tallest drop ride Moser has ever built.
braztaz Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Just saw a new commercial for Mach Tower... the commercial describes that there will be music playing as the car goes up, then when you get to the top, the music will stop, the seats will "shake" and then the car will drop. Take that for what you will... I saw the commercial too, but I didn't notice it saying anything about shaking. I just remember the music-stopping. Hopefully that's not all that'll be in store!
Ben Burnett Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Looks to me that there are hydraulics in those slots and the seats are on hinges at the bottom so they can be tilted outward.
netdvn Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I got a good look at Mach Tower at work today. All the decoration has been set up and the car is placed on the tower. Now they just need to add the catch car. The car is actually kinda small in person, but we'll wait and see! Testing should be underway this week if BGW wants to get the ride up in time for Memorial weekend. I saw the commercial as well... The surprises are definitely gonna be music and shaking seats at the top (because that's what the commercial told me ). The car may rotate, but I wasn't paying attention at that point. Looking forward to seeing TPR at the event! Just wear something TPR related so I can recognize you!
coasterfreak101 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Just saw the commercial, and it sounds like the seats are rotating on the way up, then the music stops, the seats shake, and the car drops. Seems fun!
CardCraze Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Went to BGW today for Ramp Jam, which was awesome. The park, despite being crowded, had little waits on most of the rides throughout the day. I walked on Loch Ness, DarKastle, and Alpengeist. Stopped and stared at Mach Tower for a few minutes, it's looking beautiful. Other than that not too eventful of a visit. HOT.
KDcoasterMAN Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Rumor alert... New rumored name for Project 2012... Elementum
Skycoastin Steve Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 ^Not entirely sure what the hell Elementum is, but what's in a name? :coughcoughCheetahHuntcoughcough:
Hilltopper39 Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 What manufacturer built that drop tower? I doesn't look like an Intamin and I don't remember seeing the manufacturer listed or discussed anywhere (although it probably was and I just missed it).
Hilltopper39 Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 ^Thanks, has anyone ever been on a Moser drop tower before? From the sounds of things this one might be a little bit different than your regular Intamin or S&S or those crazy ARM drop tower rides. I'm glad to see Busch Gardens building a new drop tower, it doesn't seem like there have been very many new drop towers built recently.
KDcoasterMAN Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUkxdOAgQyY This is a Moser drop tower at Tivoli World. The only "real" example...
Philrad71 Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 ^ BGE definitely needs to have 'Dancing Queen'; 'Take Me Home (Country Road)' & 'Ein Prosit' blasting on this ride at all times! Even better if they brought the carriage to the top of the tower and then started rotating it at some insane speed before dropping you to the ground!
