Kentucky Kingdom (SFKK, KK) Discussion Thread

P. 401: Herschend Enterprises named majority partner and park operator

Recommended Posts

Lightning Run, Thunder Run, Twisted Awesomeness and Deluge are a hell of a reason to put this park on the map, for me that top line is better than even KI's.

Replace Thunder Run with FearFall. Then you'd be correct.

Even with the amazing rides, I didn't have that great of a time at the park last year. However, I've heard really positive things about the park this season, so if an RMC is coming, KK will be a must visit for me next year as well.

When I was at the park today I too saw water dummies in the train, but only saw one train. I could also hear them opening and closing the brakes and there were workers on top of the track that the brakes were on.

Well, it will be impossible have any headbanging issues on the new trains.

For all we know they could be the worst-tracking trains in roller coaster history, even with the previous example set by Arkham Asylum Shock Therapy. Just because there's no head banging doesn't mean that the train will run glass smooth. I'd rather have a little bit of head banging than a constant vibration.

Thunderbolt at Coney Island taught me you don't need OTSR to have headbanging.

Just left the Park, while waiting in line for Deluge, they were testing T3. Maybe it will be open by the weekend.

They were actually letting the train run etc? I know it's a dumb question to ask, but in the past my definition of testing is different from others..

I hate to double post, but while doing my weekly Googling of Kentucky Kingdom, I saw that Hurricane Bay is to be featured in a episode of Xtreme Waterparks on the Travel Channel. It is mainly focused on the deep water dive. It will be aired June 28th.

I don't know whether anyone would care or not because it is not a coaster, but it is cool to see..

^It seems harsh in some pictures, but the green of the trees around it balances it out sorta.

cool. I wonder if they will make a big deal about it or just quietly open it during the week. If it is open this weekend I am tempted to make a trip to the park Sunday...

Hopefully they'll make an announcement via Social Media (and maybe newspaper) before this weekend, and watch people flock to the park just to ride it. I'm crossing my fingers for this weekend as well.

Yes, they sent the Train around 4 laps while we were in line.
