Hhappy
After an awesome overnight ferry ride (as in i slept most of the time) it was time for our drive to Power Park. Why? because it was the next stop on the schedule. The long drive was a lot of fun and the park (and evening ERT were sweet as well) being so far up north was very interesting (since the sun did not set). Glad i did the trip and visited this park. I'm not good at telling stories.. and it's been.. anyway.. picture time Day 12: Power Park After this.. TPR Grand Prix and more Power Park fun.. Food stop in the "middle" of nowhere. Must have been a good day for this place.. on the road again.. a happy face hmm, looks like we made it.. first look at the park bunch of inflatable things the infamous spin/swing through a building ride thingy our lovely hotel hmm, nice ride indoor go-kart track. ok, time to check out the park before ERT starts ehmmm wagon.. let's check out the "smaller" rides first credit time having fun? Dino Jeep and a hungry crock but there's more just in case you forgot where we are.. o wait.. there are more credits.. they might look a bit "funny" but they sure know how to organize a trip. join the joyride another Cobra.. and the brakes on this one were interesting.. loop stretching my back.. shooting dark-ride waiting for a hug most people have something similar.. but wait.. what's this? it makes grown men scream.. yup.. more screaming time to check out some random people's reaction to this wooden coaster.. let's start ERT zooming by doesn't it look pretty.. going up... banked turn hands up if you're having a good time next train pass the sword happy faces.. what else do we need? structure first drop hmmm looking back fly fly fly.. record breaking train and passengers in action trying to get the perfect shot.. larrygator
Too many people in non-aerodynamic position on that record breaking train. We could have cut another 0.3 seconds off our time.

Hhappy
time flies (yet again) Sorry folks, i guess i've been too busy with other stuff lately.. i'll try to improve and get some more updates coming during the next couple of weeks.. (still have plenty of things i could post..) anyway.. back to the Scandi trip of 2009.. (that does sound long ago.. and yes it kind of feels that way as well..) Day 13 started with the TPR Grand Prix at PowerPark in Finland, after the Grand Prix there was some time left to spent in the park before another fun bus drive.. Enough rambling, picture time. getting ready for the main event of the day... ow wait.. this is the first heat?? this place was big... and... the karts were quick just to give you an idea of the scale.. somebody is trying to go fast.. like really really fast.. ehm.. who's driving?? getting ready for another heat lining up on the grid will they make it though the first turn.. or will there be a crash... determination... i want to go quicker.. ehm... i did not know we would have to account for traffic driving in the other direction... coming down along the pit straight at full speed.. hard work -> heat -> fogging up... not sure how some folks were able to see anything.... time for a short break.. make some noice time for the big final.. and of they go i'm not sure that the gras will be quicker.. just watch those heads.. apologies for the signs.. drifting... a quick look at the park and the hotel area yes.. that is a hotel.. kiddie log flume at the park.. some booster fun soo many small things to look at and interesting angles fun for all ages time for something else.. more Thunderbird pictures something is missing in this image.. that's more like it but some parts don't need a train to make a picture look good/interesting or whatever you want to call it and yes i like the look of these wooden structures another first drop angle.. coming down the drop blondes.. i think i've found a good spot.. hair... hair all over the place.. and some more happy faces.. that's it now.. cfc
The ERT session on Thuderbird was, indeed, epic. I really enjoyed Power Park--it was the biggest suprise of the trip for me.
Fran1962
When speaking of Power Park, I always add that Thunderbird can claim to be Northernmost Roller Coaster in the World Wonderful pictures (as always) and the post is timed perfectly with my anticipation for our upcoming UK / Europe tour Two more days and I'm leaving on a jet plane............... Six Flags Enthuseast
This is a pretty cool looking park. Those go-carts look amazing! In fact, I'd almost say that looks like the best thing at the park (since I'm a go-cart junkie, if you didn't know)! I'd love to to a TPR Grand-Prix on the next trip to that park that I can afford. See if a 14 year old could beat a whole bunch of grown men.

Hhappy
ok trying to get this report finished before heading out for the next big trip.. Day 14 was spent at Sarkanniemi, home to Tornado and other fun stuff. This time i don't have that many pictures to show, this due to me spending most of the day trying to keep the camera gear dry. sorry folks. After this there should be one more update and then it's done.. Looking at the first stop of the day.. should be fun hmmm aha, skateboard and Halfpipe.. makes sence ehhmm.. i remember this kind of device... not waiting in the rain for it.. maybe later when it's dry.. yup.. the "seats" they seem to be pretty darn happy.. forget the previous comment, this looks more like it.. the new ride for that year behind the scene's.. being stuck with heavy raind coming down.. makes for funny expressions.. Tornado how awesome is ERT?? this is what happens when Robb has a hammer and i'm nearby with the camera crazy looking flat ride at the park loop bright colors through the loop Half Pipe as seen from the tower Finland = lots of water last credit for the day.. SharkTums
I really, really love this park and was very bummed that it rained that day which always kind of brings a bit of a damper on your day. At least the European parks understand that rides can be operated in the rain and we didn't miss any credits!
Six Flags Enthuseast
Sarkanniemi, like all other European parks, is very unique and has a lot of nice things to do that American parks just don't have.

willh51
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but do the Tornado trains glow in the dark? It would be awesome if they "recharged" in the sun all day and then glowed at night with that insane paint.
cfc
Even with the rain, I still rode Tornado four or five times--the world needs more Intamin inverts. I really liked their goofy/gory ghost train, too. Overall, it was a very good day. This was my first ride on a Volare, too--this is the coaster the Spanish Inquisition would've built if they had the technology.
Hhappy
I do know it's late (like really late) but yeah.. i feel like i have to finish this before starting a new trip report. So here we go. Final Scandi trip day: Today we visisted Linnanmaki which is smack in the middle of Helsinki. I'll let the pictures do all the talking. Still love looking back at these and thinking about all the fun things that are part of a TPR trip. Looking forward to a future Scandi visit entrance area hmm, that does look like a lot of fun ehmm.. i feel like i've seen something like this before.. the smaller version.. not as insane as Insane.. but still a lof of fun Robb looks happy here and TPDave.. a well the entire coaster the beauty of this place and the many different angles time to enjoy some old school riding.. including a brake man at the end of the train fun, lots and lots of fun expressions tell most of the story.. how's it going Steve?? and yes.. it does provide air as well awesome time for some Icebat love and don't forget to pass the egg joy joy joy ok, time to head out and see the rest of the park fire good Tv reporter and the egg nice spining coaster does this get you wet? guess so there are people behind this wall of water.. (spot the arm) see, there they are random flat ride not sure what to say food theming ok, this looks interesting.. looks like it has some interesting moves.. and it does some funny things to the people riding.. but in the end.. it does get a thumbs up hmm, Scandinavia and gravity yes.. it's water.. no worries pointers if you get to this park, don't forget to visit this ride it has clowns.. lots and lots of clowns and somebody needs to do some cleaning as well thank you
