boxer156
I have some free tickets that I can only use next weekend (July 4th/5th)....I prefer to go to the park on the 4th, but I am concerned about the crowds. I've been to BGW a few times, and never experienced 'big' crowds, but the 4th holiday scares me a bit. Any tips or advice?
cfc
Get there early--that's best advice I can give. July 4th will be very busy, so you might want to spring for Quick Queue--this will give you front-of-the-line privileges on all the ride's coasters (except the Loch Ness Monster), as well as Curse of DarKastle. Another point to consider: BGW usually has fireworks from July 3 to 5. (So, you could catch the fireworks on Sunday, which may not be as busy.) YoshiFan
I went to the park on July 4th a while ago but it was on a weekday. Waits weren't horrible. I remember the person at the entrance of BBW saying it was 20 minutes in the middle of the day. Of course since it is on a Saturday this year that might make the park a lot more crowded. Kingbooba
I would definitly get Quick Queue. BGW has major crowds all the time, but especially on July 4th weekend... Good luck, that's pretty much all I can say.
netdvn
Funny... I went to BGW on July 4 in 2006 and the park was jam packed. Then I went July 4, 2007 and the park was dead for much of the day. Everything, even Griffon was a walk on. My suggestion... Be prepared for insane crowds because it IS a holiday weekend. If you can use Quick Queue, then use it. If the park is dead, then you won't need to worry much. Just enjoy yourself. PS: If the park does stay dead during the day, chances are there might be a flood of people getting into the park later in the evening before the fireworks. The best place to see them is in the main parking lot between AC's first and second drop.
Capitalize
Every time I've gone on a holiday (memorial day/labor day) its always been insanely crowded, huge waits for everything. So don;t be surprised if its really packed. Its still a good time, though.
cfc
Correction: BG will be shooting off fireworks July 1-4 (not 3-5).
