Elaine Strich. At 89.

A musical theatre DIVA in the best sense of the word.

The original "Ladies Who Lunch" gal. Bless her.

Somehow I just KNEW it was gonna be you who posted Elaine Stritch to this thread

We were focused yesterday on Johnny Winter's passing. . . haven't seen any cause of death listed (which is a bit odd).

We were fans of his, and have an autographed guitar hanging on the wall of our music room

Thank you for mentioning this. He was a remarkable talent, and I'm sure to keep on enjoying his music.

Here is an article I shared about his life and death.

Although he was known for his tv characters and movie tough guys,

I always enjoyed him in Victor/Victoria with Julie Andrews and

Robert Preston and Alex Karras.

A fun movie and Garner was a great sympathetic gangster.

Robin Williams has passed away.

No details yet but could be a possible suicide!

http://insidemovies.ew.com/2014/08/11/robin-williams-dead-at-63/

I just saw that. Very sad. Depression is a serious thing, and mental health treatment in the United States is a joke.

He also did A LOT of drugs throughout his lifetime, that can mess up your mental health as well.

Sad, one of the most major 'stars' to die in my adult life time.

That's a very good point. I don't know why so many people decide to do drugs. Dumb. Either way, this is a tragedy.

unfortunately, I actually DO know a lot about this.

You will find, quite often, the heaviest drug abusers also have mental issues. They self medicate to try and even out the highs/lows from the mental illness.

I admit, when I first heard the news, I thought to myself: drugs.

but when I saw Suicide was the cause?. .that actually makes more sense.

it's a real shame he wasn't able to beat the disease, and I do hope he has found the peace he was unable to achieve in life.

thoughts and prayers to his wife and family.
