Wow. Just found this out.

Jan Michael Vincent.

According to a death certificate first obtained by celebrity news website TMZ, the actor died on 10 February at a hospital in North Carolina, but his death has only just been brought to light. ~ 4 hours ago

Sad to read.

^ This one was the first one that made me cry in a LONG time and I almost never do this

he was a wonderful, kind, man too.. always so generous with his time when I saw him in Atlanta at Dragon*con (almost every year).

probably won't mean a whole lot but to those of us "of a certain age"

but R.I.P. Miss Doris Day

https://www.apnews.com/b9a04d9ab2ce4276b2f6bdb6b39af585

she was well known for her "good girl" parts in films, her singing, and her daytime talk show.

likely her most famous recording, which I grew up hearing my Mother listen to over and over. . she LOVED this song:

although her cover of this, was a big hit too:

^ Her passion for saving animals small and big (horses) is what I remember of Doris Day, too.

My fave movie of hers that I remember actually going to see a few times,

was "The Glass Bottom Boat." And the ones with Rock Hudson, too.

RIP Doris Day

Tim Conway, age 85. Us older farts will know him very well, as someone who kept us in stitches for just trying to make Harvey Korman break character. The Dentist is still, to this day, one of the funniest sketches ever. RIP

You know, we've lost a lot of great people over the last year or so, but it feels so different from 2016... Probably because while we're losing legends, we're losing them to old age rather than cancer or heart attack or stroke or whatever. These older actors are people I grew up watching, so it's sad to see them go, but it's nice to know that they got to live long full lives.

Diahann Carroll R.I.P.

First African American actress to play lead in her own tv show ("Julia" 1968).

Also played Norma Desmond in Canadian tour of "Sunset Boulevard".

And "that part" (Desiree'?) in the tv original, DYNASTY.

Before Diahann Carroll and Jessye Norman, we lost rock and roll icons Eddie Money "The Money Man" and Ric Ocasek (of the Cars). Both had quite a bit of coverage on a national level, but Money's death was breaking news in Michigan (for over 25 years, he was the opening act for each season at DTE Energy Music Theater, the primary outdoor concert venue in Michigan; also, he seemed to play in Michigan at least five times every year (and probably more some years))

TL: DR, Eddie Money was to Michigan as David Hasselhoff was to Germany (in the late 1980s/early 1990s)
