Lameformer Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 RIP Phife, legendary rapper who was part of the group "A Tribe Called Quest" Below is one of my favorite songs by the group, Scenario. Phife is the rapper in the first verse.
Lameformer Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Also Rob Ford aka "The mayor of Toronto who did a lot of crack" low key died two days ago.
scottiemon Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Old timers will remember.... Joe Garagiola, RIP, age 90.
Philrad71 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 That really sucks about Garry Shandling...I guess he was trying to call 911 for help when he died.
Nrthwnd Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Ken Howard, 71. Kenneth Joseph "Ken" Howard, Jr. was an American actor, best known for his roles as Thomas Jefferson in 1776 and as basketball coach and former Chicago Bulls player Ken Reeves in the television show The White Shadow. He also did a good number of Broadway plays and musicals before hitting it big with The White Shadow on TV.
cfc Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 ^He was also Thomas Jefferson the original cast and movie versions of 1776.
Nrthwnd Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 ^ On my very first visit to New York in 1976, not only did I get to see the original casts of "A Chorus Line", "Chicago" and "Pacific Overtures" (Sondheim's newest, back then), I got lucky to see Howard in a production of Alan Ayckborn's trilogy plays, The Norman Conquests. It was three plays that could be seen in any order, if you saw all three of them. Quite ingenious. Estelle Parsons, Barry Nelson, Richard Benjamin and Paula Prentiss were also in the cast. Great fun I remember!
Nrthwnd Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 The one and only Patty Duke. I heard a rumor years ago, that she was in consideration for Princess Leia in the original SW trilogy. But of course, Carrie Fisher got it, instead. Anybody else remember this "retro rumor"?
Garet Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 One for the Brits: http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-35934024 Ronnie Corbett aged 85.
I305forever Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Comedy legend Mel Brooks has died at age 89. He was truly one of the greats. Blazing Saddles remains one of my favorite movies ever.
YOLO Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Ok this happened like a month ago but no one posted about it so here it is Atlanta rapper Bankroll Fresh shot dead at the young age of 28 http://www.tmz.com/2016/03/05/rapper-bankroll-fresh-dead-shootout-atlanta/
bbomser Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 In all seriousness, it would be quintessential Mel Brooks to die on April 1... Let's just hope that doesn't happen for a few years!
WayCool64 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 I remember hearing a similar hoax from a friend a few years back.
scottiemon Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Doris Roberts at age 90. Awesome character actress. Everybody loved Doris.
Nrthwnd Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 ^ Ah, I loved her in everything she did! She did a lot of Broadway plays and comedies, too. And of course, Remington Steele. Brilliant.
mike541x Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 R.I.P Prince https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8BMm6Jn6oU
yay101 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I am very sad with how many notable people are dying this year - David Bowie, Lemmy from Motorhead, and now Prince, not to mention Mike Chance. Rest in peace, you guys didn't deserve this.
