p. 513 - Wrath of Rakshasa dive coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

Well, I guess ride ops aren't always wrong lol

Obviously, ride ops are not always right (you could probably justifiably say they're not often right), but I think their inability to know anything of value about park operations, is often overblown on enthusiast sites. We had a strong clue about Mean Streak closing in-season this year a couple months ago, due to ride-ops being informed they'd be removed early, and the word spreading. Again, not saying they're always right, but they are certainly not always wrong!

I got some news on some changes that have been made to Viper and Raging Bull. Viper has received some retracting, but I'm not sure sure where though .As for Raging Bull it looks like the park is trying to speed up the operations by limiting the time to storing any loose articles to 30 seconds.

I never though of it like that but yeah that's basically whats happening. Goliath is also doing the 30 second rule now too. I hope all the coasters start to do this now because the operations here really need to be improved badly. When I was SFStL on Saturday I could't believe how great the operations were.

I just noticed a few things on the Six Flags website. Rage of the Gargoyles VR starts on the Demon on Saturday, August 13th. If you buy a Rage of the Gargoyles t-shirt, you can ride on Thursday from 3 - 5. Season pass holders and Samsung phone owners can ride Rage of the Gargoyles all day on Friday, August 12.

If you were planning on riding Demon, keep this in mind. Demon will now have a long wait time, just like most of the other coasters. I might try out Rage of the Gargoyles on Friday. It will be my first experience with VR on a coaster.

Well this week is bring a friend half price week for pass holders so I would expect t to be a little busier than normal. That being said I hope you have a good time and I'll be interested in hearing how you like the park compared to your home park.

My dad and I just got back from the park and I loved it!

My favorite area is Southwest Territory, I loved the theme and the hot sun added to the theme too.

My dad and I was planning on going to Hurricane Harbor tomorrow but it might storm.

What I rode (in order):

Goliath 11/10: 2nd row

Bonus point for the awesome airtime!

X-Flight 10/10: front

A really fun ride! Personally the best B&M in the area.

Raging Bull 7/10: 2nd row

-1 for assigned seating, -1 for rattle, -2 for trim brake (whose idea was it anyway?), +1 for 3 car operation

Giant Drop 10/10

Loved the theming

Viper 9/10: front

-1 the crew was pretty slow here. I expected this ride to be rough, but it wasn't.

Whizzer 10/10: front and back

I found this classic very cool!

Superman 9/10: 3rd row

I forgot that there was a single rider line. Oops.

Dark Knight 8/10

The theming was good. I find this worth riding.

Logger's Run 8/10

One log flume down, one to go (didn't ride Yankee Clipper)

Little Dipper 9/10: 4th and 2nd row

It may look small, but this is a fun ride!

V2: Vertical Velocity 10/10: 5th row

This is an awesome ride! V2 instantly made it to my top ten list!

Batman 9/10 3rd row.

I don't like the fact that there's assigned seating, but the theming is really cool! Take notes SFSTL.

American Eagle (blue) 8/10: back

I like it, but it was rough. Exactly the roughness I expected Viper to be.

Sorry for the basic photos. I only have an iPhone 6 as my camera

Greeted by a roller coaster when I arrived. This is going to be fun!

Is it a rule that this photo must be taken when you enter the park?

I really wish that both Superman and Condor were running in the same picture

Vertical Velocity is so awesome!!

The sun is setting. Almost time to leave.

Am I the only one who likes V2's entrance? That's all for now.

Nice report! Brings me back to my visit a couple of years ago. You didn't miss much with Buccaneer Battle. That sort of ride is most fun with people interacting with the ride, and no one seems to want to stop and shoot water guns at us. It was pretty disappointing.

Glad you liked Whizzer. It seems like it's overlooked since it's not big or fast, but it's truly one of the best there. And I'm totally with you on Raging Bull. It was good, but it could have been great, and just really left me disappointed.

No, it's one of my personal favourite entrances. I absolutely love it. Great trip report! Is Orbit still closed? I really am hoping they will at least give a few opportunities for last rides instead of closing it abruptly.

I'm not sure what we're going to see in 2017. We have to wait until the teasers start. The rumor on Screamscspe is a 4D Free Spin. He thinks it will replace the spots where ERC, Jesters and RC were. I also heard a rumor that Orbit and Jesters are going to be relocated to you know where. You know what I'm talking about. I mean where else does SFGAm relocate their rides. As for the Screamscape rumor I wouldn't totally believe it if I were you.

Honestly, with Jesters leaving and Ragin Cajun's spot still empty after 2 years, they should either relocate or move King Chaos and Big Easy Balloons and just ditch the entire Mardis Gras theme altogether. That would free up so many options. With that much room they could easily fit a 4D. Or, possibly even better, a newly themed flat package. Hell, I'd be happy with a Larson looper at this point, so long as they do SOMETHING to refresh that area of the park.

Thanks so much for the report and pictures. Sometimes, we all get so caught up and opinionated about what is good and bad, that it is so refreshing to see someone who basically liked everything and had a great time!!! Thanks again and keep on enjoying yourself!
