Next stop : Movie park Germany ( 26/05/09 ) With Video cam ------------------------------------------------ Hi everyone! This my first TR on TPR and it will be about a park many of you probably don't even know ! Atractiepark Slagharen It's a nice little park located in the east of the Netherlands , next to the village Slagharen. This was my second visit to the park , though the last one being over 5 years ago , so I had quite a good idea of what to expect of this park. The trip was organized by my judo club ( SJO ) and me as a black belt holder was asked to go along and walk around to supervise the kids and take care of problems like kids getting lost etc. The group was about 250 people, but as most were just small kids almost all rides in the park remained walk ons with a waiting time of at max 2 or 3 cycles. We left at our club around 9:15 am and after a bus drive of about 1:15 we arrived at the park. I was one of the first to enter the park , and with some friends we went straigth the main ride in the park , the Looping Star. It's a standard Schwarzkopf loopingcoaster, and was running really smooth considering it isn't a new ride anymore. Another interesting detail is that the trains have the name Thunder Loop on them as these came from another park. After a few rides on the looping star we got onto the cable car ride. this way we got a nice view over the mainstreet and got to wave at lots of kids that were in our group. After we got off we did a couple of flatrides after this including the "Traum Boot" ( dream beat ) which was an swinging ship that went upside down and we rode an enterprise , with the ever so original name : enterprise ... We skipped the Ripsaw falls , which is a log flume , as it was the only ride in the park with a large line , and it was about a one hour wait! The next thing was the second and also rollercoaster in the park , a vekoma coaster called Mine Train. I'm not sure if it is a rollerscater with mine trains , or if it's a small mine train ride. But being a Vekoma it was a pretty rough ride, especially if you would compare it to the looping star which is older but is running smoother! We had some lunch after that and some of uss decide to go in the FreeFall ride. My stomach doesn't handel Freefall and lunch pretty well together so I decide to skip this one. We also got onto an indoor river rapids themed as a darkride. This was actually a very good darkride with some nice effects and a waterfall that just stops as you go under it ( kinda like the one in PHL on the hollywood boat tour ). Sadly enough all my pictures there failed as I have an old camera .. We then did some more rides on the Looping Star and on the Tomahawk, a nice spin'n'puke ride with some airtime in it ! Next was the Eagle , which gave a good view over the park , but was spinning so fast it was more like a blur... We did some repeating rides after that and also saw that the Looping Star was stuck on the lifthill , probably nothing serious but we didn't saw it coming back as we went away before it was fixed. It was then time to get back to the busses and say farewell to Slagharen. A nice small family park and a great day away sponsored by my judo club Now onto the pictures : When walking towards the entrance you get some good shots of the Vekoma coaster called mine train The entrance to the park from the parking lott is a bridge, to keep people from getting hit by cars. This is the view from the entrance to the mainstreet. Nice and small , but with a good theme. All these people are in our group .. and this is probably about half of them! And one of them fancy rotating towers They have a gaint wheel , which we didn't ride. It's made by Schwarzkopf, and checked to be safe , good to know ! Final brakes. Brakes and a train ? It doesn't get any sexier then this ! More porn. Time to get some chain and brake porn! Even Steffen is confused , are we riding Loopin Star or Thunderloop .. ?? A mine train.. ? It has some airtime when riding backseat , and almost no airtime when riding frontseat. The big star of the day , Looping Star. Even more mainstreet. The cable car ride is sponsored by a brand that would translate in to "double fresh" ! This is me ( I am the one with the camera ) Instead of handing out park maps they have these sign all over the place. The park used to be called "Ponypark Slagharen" and the fountain of a Pony is one of the things that refer to the old name. It looks pretty high , but it is only about 40m high.. Slagharen's newest ride , the FreeFall. Going over the fountain .. Would Dan aprove the ammount of wetness this fountain produces .. ? You can get some nice mainstreet shots from the cable car ride. This pigeon is about to get chrushed by a monorail car , but he's a cool pigeon so he flies away at the last second. They also have one of these wateslide rides with boats. It's me again! Loop de Loop , from the view of the cable car ride. Next stop , the cable car ride, it was good to know that smoking wasn't allowed , the whole station was build out of wood ! Me and the fountain. I'm also double fresh ! This is where we had lunch Lifthill shot. This is the only good station shot I got , the others all moved .. Darn you rumbling Vekoma ride! Wait a second .. the roofs look a lot like the terminator tunnel roofs ... The Vekoma Mine Train was our last ride before lunch. Shot with a solar flare , check. Next stop , the Traum Boat. Some freefall mechanics for all you nerds out there. And some more Looping Star shots It was a nice ride to look at, but it went round really slow ... They also have a mini ferrish wheel , themed to horse-carriages. The spin'n'puke ride, a very good one indeed ! The Eagle was a fun ride , a shame this it the only shot I have of it. There are also some slides in the park without water. Oh My .. .. they have electricity in the Wild West .. ! - - Some shots of FreeFall The log ride still has a huge line .. For all you enterprise nerds. Last ride of the day , the enterprise. Look at our fro's ! We found some more of these mirrors Ah , much better ! hmm .. something is missing in this picture .. We have no idea what happend as we left before it got going again .. And just as we finished riding it for the 4th time , it got stuck .. Bye Bye Slagharen , it was a day filled with fun ! As we got back to the parking lott we still had a nice view of the Mine Train. I almost forgot the moon-themed chair swing ! Sploosh !

milst1
Hey, we're thinking of hitting Slagharen next week but we cannot access the website for some reason. Does anyone know park hours (openingtijdens) on Monday August 10, and also admission and parking price? Thanks!!! Martin
