^ Did they ever say they didn't like it?

Anyway, awesome trip reports guys! I someday hope to go on one of these trips, and in a year or two may do a California credit trip and hit up the Cali credits I still need(crazily, I don't have two credits from my home park, but hopefully that will change this summer) BTW, isn't Bizzaro just SCREAM! on steroids?

Actually, we said we liked both Nitro AND Bizarro.

Simply, Nitro didn't live up to the HYPE, and Bizarro's re-theming didn't enhance the ride experience enough to warrant another hour-long wait when almost everything else in the park was a walk-on.

Who would honestly wait one hour for a ride on Medusa/Bizarro when they could ride El Toro four times in that same time span?

Now, if you want to defend Dark Knight, Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train, Runaway Mine Ride, Rolling Thunder, and the Six Flags Locker Policy, then you'd be talking about the things that we really thought sucked!!!

^^^Big Mike, I really love those Lady Bebe kissing pics too!!!

I can see where he's coming from on Nitro.

I first rode Nitro in 2002, and at that point I had no more than 20 credits, if that. I thought it was insane and it instantly was in my top 5. Fast forward to my next ride in 2008, and I was extremely disappointing. Other than the helix, the ride was sort of boring. I didn't get the airtime I got on my first ride...I might have been lifted out of my seat 5 times. Definitely not deserving of a top 10 ranking worldwide, IMO.

Sounds like you guys had a great time there. I agree that I'd ride El-Toro over Kingda Ka anyday. Great Adventure has come a long way over the years with cleaning up the park because it was becoming very trashy.

Also the people saying your complaining remember you have to account for their age.......

I'm looking forward to heading to the park but nothing new added is forcing me to go back there (I skipped last year). Until I ride Bizarro I can't put an opinion on that but I don't think it will be much different then "Medusa".

Personally I think Nitro has held up well over time and deserves its spot in my Top 10. Even after riding 100's of new coasters over the past 4 years, I think Nitro still packs a punch.

I've ridden it 4 seperate days this year and it never disappointed.

^ There is only 2 good rides in the park IMO, Nitro and Eltoro. They only have like 6 flats in the park and none of them are that good. The park looks like crap with all these big empty spots every where. Last year i visited gradv 10 times and this year i have only went 2 times with a planned visit in the fall for the riding of the bull event. So unless they start adding more rides i dont think i will be going there more than a couple of times a year.

Wow! I just got through reading all the excitement of a two week, 50+ Roller Coaster Tour and I will sum it up in one word... Jealous! What an awesome Vacation! Good Coasters, Bad Coasters, and everything in between.

I love the Whack-A-Mole picture from Hershey Park!

Perhaps our sarcasm comes across as negative, and we failed to RAVE about every ride that we liked. Here's the breakdown:

The rides we liked:

-Nitro 8/10

-El Toro 9/10

-Skull Mountain 7/10

-Batman:TR 7/10

-Superman:UF 7/10

-Bizarro 7/10

The rides we didn't like:

-Dark Knight 4/10

-Roadunner 3/10

-Blackbeard 4/10

-GASM 5/10

-Runaway Mine 4/10

-Rolling Thunder 4/10

We had one bad ride on Kingda Ka, but chalked that up to the backseat and didn't get an opportunity to try another seat, but having ridden TTD & Xcelerator, we still rated it a 7/10 on our CF list.

The rapids were uneventful.

The parachute drop was nostagically fun.

The park was clean, pretty, and much better than we ever expected.

We spent a whole day (plus a few hours extra), from open to close, with very few lines and still could've used more time at SFGAdv. We had quite a good time and would recommend it to others.

As stated before, our TR's are very tongue-in-cheek and all about fun. The ride reports are personal opinion and perhaps a bit critical. Take from them what you may, but we hope you have FUN reading them.

Almost everyone has fun reading them, it's just the complainers that are vocal. You said multiple times how much you liked Great Adventure, I think those readers must have "selective" reading. I love keeping up with your adventures! Keep up the great work!

Ok I mis-spoke. Ka SUCKS in the back seat. It has ruined my day. The front is a completely different experience and has very minimal shaking. The general rule of thumb for me with Ka is the further back the worse the ride.

GASM has been smooth this season so the roughness you talk about suprises me.

May I ask did you dislike Dark Knight because it was a wild mouse only? I found DK to be the best standard wild mouse I have ridden.

I am happy you pointed out the nice surroundings the park has to its advantage. I think only SFDK was a nicer SF park.

I think Hershey is the only park with a Whack-a-Mole(Could be wrong)....That thing has been there forever. I need to get my pictures of Hershey up.....

I agree with most of your comments regarding SFGA...

* El Toro is definitely in the Top 5 all time coaster experiences. Currently holds the #1 spot for me. I got a three ride mini-marathon at the end of my night too!

* Nitro is great, but not a #3.

* Bizarro was not worth the long wait. In another year, it will be a walk-on again like it was when it was Medusa.

* Dark Knight isn't very spectacular after all of the pre-opening hype. An indoor spinning coaster would have worked much better than the mouse.

* The Congo Rapids ride was definitely the lamest rapids ride I have ever been on. What is the deal with a lot of these parks turning off the waterfalls lately? Is it that expensive to properly maintain a couple of water pumps?

*Rolling Thunder is a piece of crap. It was the only coaster (besides Kingda Fail + kiddie coasters) that we didn't ride. I remember the pain of riding it last time and did not want to go for a repeat.

* Runaway mine train is a lot like the one at CP - very jerky around the bends. I heard my spine crack at least three times during the ride!

*GASM was very rough and jarring in the front seat. I think I like Viper at SFMM much better.

*Biggest plus for this park besides El Toro and Nitro....Heineken draft at Granny's!

The Bebes Wrote:

If you’ve been following our reports, you know how much we LOVE wild mice rides (NOT!).

So, yes, we disliked it just because it was a wild mouse. Also, the pre-ride theming gets you ready for something more than what is delivered. And the light-up cardboard standups cheapen the ride further. I would've much rather it have been a spinning mouse in the dark, or a better dark ride experience like Curse of DarkCastle.

Actually, Whack-a-Mole is at almost EVERY park. Kennywood, Great Adventure, Dorney, and of course Hershey all have one, but the Hershey was the first time Mr. Bebe was photographed while playing.

I've been enjoying this multi park PTR from the very start. It looks like you Bebes know how to have fun, and that's what really matters when everything else is said and done.

I see no need for you to apologize for, or defend your opinions. I personally thought they were put forward with a sense of playful sarcasm that has been a part of the reports from the beginning. Keep up the great work! I look forward to the chance to say "Hi" during TPR's Termination day.
