Xpress's Beach blaster

What I liked

-Relentless pacing throughout.

-Great airtime hills.

-Astonishing job on the supports.

-The twister approach of the layout.

-The pre-lift was fun.

-The overall track shaping of the ride was very fun and original.

-Generally smooth

-Great laterals.

 

What could be improved

-Erm…some scenery would be nice.

-A few small jerks here and there.

-Par that funky element after the MCBR, the ending was nowhere near as good as the first half.

 

My Verdict

Taking a different approach to competitors certainly made you ride stand out from the crowd, and stand out it did.

4rturo's Wolf

 

What I liked

-Great airtime, especially towards the end.

-Nice mix of helix's and airtime hills.

-One of the smoother entries.

-Nice track shaping throughout.

 

What could be improved

-The helix's here a bit pumpy.

-I didn't like how the ride needed a lift to get to the station, it was just unnecessary.

-The layout is nothing more than average.

-Not the most inventive entry we've had.

 

My verdict

While its not the strongest contender we've had, it's far from being bad ride.

Exceller's Wild

What I liked

-Very fun and unique first drop out of the station.

-I liked the unconventional set-up of the layout.

-Pacing is maintained well until the final third.

-Fun at times.

-Good terrain work.

 

What could be improved

-The pacing just died in the final stretch, mainly due to the slightly over-sized bunny hops.

-Minor but frequent pumps throughout.

-First drop aside, the ride was a bit dull and lacked any 'wow' factor.

 

My Verdict

A slightly forgettable ride is made up by its spots of genius.

Thelegendarymatthew's Entry

What I liked

-The layout had a logical flow.

-The first bit was quite fun.

 

What could be improved

-The pacing was horrendous towards the end, made worse by the fact that the hills were as flat as a pancake.

-Failed the E-stop test badly in a lot of ways, most prominently it overshot the MCBR.

-The entry to the lift hill wasn't straight.

-The elements on the latter two thirds of the ride were far too big, ruining the already dodgy pacing.

-The forces, though they stayed within the guidelines, were far to strong for a woodie (mostly caused by pumping and undersized valleys).

-Very pumpy trackwork throughout, most of which could have been fixed with the inbuilt smoother.

-Dull, unoriginal layout.

-The lead in to the lift hill wasn't straight.

-The hills were all wonky when they should have been straight.

-Perhaps the most boring ending to a coaster ever (stupidly over-long bunny hops into a long straight sections towards the brakes).

 

Sorry to be harsh, but I have to rate it as I would rate any other ride. It is a contest after all.

 

My Verdict

Clearly your not the most experienced designer in this contest, which is fine (we all had to start somewhere) but I would have liked to have seen a bit more of that inexpereinced lunacy rather than long, flat hills taken at 20mph.

My verdict

While its not the strongest contender we've had, it's far from being bad ride. All I want to know is why you didn't check the ride for tunnel hits?

Now do the tunnel test using the steel looping tunnel (yes, using the steel loopers tunnel to tunnel test still counts). You'll find it doesn't fail tunnel test. And calling it horifically is quite an overstatement

egh, dr.gumbo, I'm no where near good, but I'll get better.

 

I know you will. With every ride you make you'll learn something new, and over time it's natural for you to get better and better. Even the most best designers didn't hurl out gold when they were starting off.

 

I hope you didn't find me too harsh there, but I can't be lenient for one ride and picky on another.

In 4th place with an average score of 77.75 we have, 4rturo with Mad Wolf!

 

 

In 3rd place with an average of 82.5 we have, Exceller with Wild!

 

 

In second place of an average score of 88.75 we have, DBru with Savage!

 

 

And in 1st place, with an average score of 90.375 we have, Xpress with Beach Blaster!
